"I've flown plenty." Kaida almost bragged, on the tip of her tongue was something about having flown towards a god during the Three Day War (she thinks its name was...Ogre? Something like that.), but she never got the chance to say more. Her jaws snapped shut as the dragon shot upwards, afraid of biting her tongue should she carelessly talk.

Initially, her Yamega would lose them, crying out in frustration as it beat its wings determinedly. With an ability of Speed Boost, however, she enjoyed rapid acceleration, and soon caught up, zipping around the dragon like a bouncing rubber ball. Thankfully, her passengers were equally fine, Kaida letting out a breath of relief as she noted her Ekans and Toxicitry were hanging on with no problems.

"I don't believe a princess would be seeing stars quite like this." Kaida's voice jumped in pitch, signaling a joking tone as her lips curved up, leaning over the side of the Dragonite. In a suit, on a dragon, snakes and bugs by her side. Who ever seen a story like that? She took a deep breath, noting that the air was thinner, and she should be careful. "It's nice to fly without something happening for once." She couldn't remember a time she had flown that wasn't in a battle, a job, or getting to a job. "I suppose I should be grateful, I never got to have my partners see something pretty peacefully." Unintentionally, she looped back into overt care about her Pokemon, leaving herself in the dust.

Acting was difficult for Kaida, the kind of personality needed to pretend to have the energy and loudness of multiple people simply didn't exist in her...in a way, she supposed nobody was here to see her, but Muspel. So she let Muspel lead.

Muspel Blazed as the curtains were pulled back, radiating heat that the closer of the audience might even be able to feel as the contestants were revealed, stepping forward and cheerfully waving her tail as attention fell on her. Cool was a subjective term, but there was no doubting the inherent coolness of a Charizard, with its draconic appearance, wings, and flaming tail, Kaida thought she was one of her best partners.

Despite the Charizard's lack of ruggedness like Furor, she too possessed scars from previous battles, including one that likely everyone in the region knew about. The Three Day War left the Charizard with flickers of evidence of her battles, discolored scales from blasted water, scars lining her wings from desperate flight, all marks the Charizard wore with pride. She let out a traditional roar, and Kaida stepped forward to pat the Pokemon's shoulder.

"This is Muspel, pne of my partners, we'll show why she is the best choice." It was her partner, there was no chance in Kaida's mind that she didn't deserve recognition.

As a Dragonite joined the party, the woman's love for Pokemon reared its head as she bobbed and flashed a toothless smile at the dragon. A good dragon, she had no doubt in its power, though she shook her head at the offer of her partners riding along, "No thank you, I don't wish to burden Draco...here, Orvar!"

A Pokeball bounced off the ground, releasing an intimidating bug that immediately softened, clicking its jaws in a friendly manner (as friendly as a Yamega could look). "She can take my partners...and catch us should either of us fall. It's reliable." Perhaps it wasn't sane to expect to fall by being struck by the night sky, but Kaida never got anywhere by not being borderline paranoid! "After you." She nodded at the Dragonite as she loaded her own Pokemon onto her Yamega, "Let us see stars, if only a little while." Leaving the ball on the ground for a few minutes wouldn't harm anyone. If anything, she might see something up there if needed...she hoped it wouldn't take too long. There were still hors de vors to eat.

Kaida took the champagne, frowning slightly at the drink. Alcohols didn't really appeal to the woman, too difficult to deal with, not enough taste to make up for the cons. Still, she wasn't one to pass up a toast. They were very important, yes? "To friends." Kaida agreed, raising her glass before taking a sip...nope, still didn't like it all too much. She was happy at the feeling of finality, there wasn't much that could top a physical declaration of a bond, right?

Nothing except maybe a group of rare Pokemon appearing. Bragi chirped in glee and rushed to the outside without prompting, and Kaida chuckled, "Seems Bragi made the decision for me." Minior were a strange Pokemon, if one saw one, they were likely near death. It only felt right to save one from such a fate, even if Kaida wasn't certain how to integrate the Pokemon into her family...she'd figure it out.

Unknowing of Amor's own suspicions of the night, Kaida leaned down to pick up her Ekans, "Nothing strange yet?" A calm shake of the head, good. "Tell me if anything is around I can't see." With these new Miniors around, their protection of the Pokemon was even more important now. To onlookers, it only appeared she picked up the serpent, her voice low enough to not be heard...panicking humans would only make her job harder.

Outside the ball, she found her Toxicitry holding a green little ball. A Minior in Core Form, soon to drift away. The young Pokemon faced Kaida, eyes glassy with tears, and Kaida rushed forward towards the little one, "It'll be fine, I'll take care of them." Her blunt words seemed to be a comfort to the poison type, knowing the woman wouldn't exaggerate as she took out a Pokeball and captured the green Minior, "Seems I got a green one." She called over to Amor, pocketing the new Pokeball.

She gazed up at the night sky and, finding it comforting, looked over to Amor, "They'll soon be out, I've never seen the Litonites before." Too busy, too sleepy, too far, the reasons varied.

Kaida stifled a small chuckle, more than aware that the two of them were strangers, and yet talking like old friends. She saw this happen occasionally. Between humans, a party, drink, coincidence was all it took for them to form a "bond", inconsequential as it was. She wondered if that was going on here, most people didn't bother trying to cheer a friend like this, much less a stranger.

Her Pokemon drew closer as Amor threatened to bridge the distance to their leader, understanding Kaida's allowance of the contact, but sensing her unwillingness to let it proceed any further...and relaxed as the man drew away himself. "I will have fun, its not many nights I get to see a Litleo in the sky." As long as nothing comes up. Hoenn could never have a normal day, after all. Pictures formed in the sky tended to escape the woman, but something as famous as this? She hoped it was about as amazing as this ball suggested.

She perked up instantly at the mention of a drink, turning to her companions and beckoning, "Come here, Ormr, Bragi, let us drink something." The two Pokemon filled with cheer, immediately set off to crowd around Amor, perhaps more happy at the idea than even Kaida, especially Ormr, the poor Ekans having a true run around dealing with stepping feet and zipping around dancers.

A princess?

Kaida had no experience in romance, nor flirtation. Her developmental years having been far too chaotic and frankly, confusing for any exploration, followed immediately by her taking on the mantle of Ranger. She never received such unbashed flirtation, likely driving away any potential suitors with her general aloofness and choice of companionship in Pokemon. It was no secret (she hoped) that she cared about the likes of her family, the select few she chose to bond with...yet such affections never proceeded beyond that. She wouldn't try. But this...this was confusing.

"I'm no princess." She stated the fact bluntly, like it was ever a question. She had heard tales of magical princesses, surrounded by Pokemon big and small, never serpents though, "I'm nothing but a stranger too." Her eyes were narrowed in thought, seriously contemplating what her next move could be. In all sincerity, this place was probably safe. Ormr and Bragi would surely notice any danger (unrelated to the ridiculous commotion happening nearby). For the moment, she was safe.

She had already pretended to be a normal human so long. Why not adopt a mantle of princess for a little? Be somebody important?

"However, I accept Amor. I may not be much, but I will always complete expectations." She didn't think she was much of a princess (Arceus, she wasn't much of a human!), but her life had been strange enough this year. Surely, with a Litleo's starry blessing, she could adopt a royal stance with this man, if only for a day?

Kaida did beam, a brief flash of teeth at Amor Rose 's compliment, cheeks reddening in what seemed like pure pride, "Thank you, I do my best to be a good partner." Surely, he only meant it in terms of the dance, but that didn't change how good being praised at doing good was. Her Pokemon kept around their heels, close enough that her Ekans and Toxicitry were obviously one of the dancing duos, but not quite snuggling up like the little Pichu. The excitement of everything, music, dancing, and a stranger, seemed to be tiring out the sluggish Ekans, who hurried after Kaida and Amor in any direction the turned.

Kaida halted briefly, eyes wandering as the mixture of Psychic Terrain and Misty Terrain came into view, "Watch out." She warned briefly, curiosity turning her eyes towards the dancing FERNANDO SILPH and illeana reyes, "...Huh." In the few seconds confusion swam in her eyes, they suddenly dripped in recognition. That confusing Fernando...and Illeana. Perhaps another person wouldn't have valued the few missions they worked together in, but Kaida felt a swell of happiness, a feeling that leaked away as she gazed for a few seconds. She looked, different, and not only because they were surrounded by all intents and purposes, a field that looked more created by Pokemon than humans.

She looked away, shaking her head as if to clear it, "Strange. I didn't think there would be so many important people here." A flash of curiosity, "Are you an important person, Amor? It's hard to tell in a place like this."

Convinced by FERNANDO SILPH 's Shaymin, Kaida found herself pulled into the dance floor, and in the strange position of paired up with the man Amor Rose. Her eyes flickered back and forth briefly before mumbling, "I haven't learned how to do this..." Let it be known though, that Kaida was not one to walk out of a challenge, even one rather self-inflicted like this one.

As the hors d'oeuvres came out, Kaida's Pokemon took notice. Even her Ekans, deeming this man safe to leave Kaida with, sprung from her shoulders for a snack...likely scaring the life of the poor waiter that had to deal with the serpent. For the first time in a long time, Kaida found herself in an conversation, even dance, with another person, not surrounded by her usual entourage. She adapted, with difficulty, but still, the uncertainty only showed on her face for an instant.

"I am Kaida Adachi, it is good to meet you too...you seem to be good at this dancing." While her movements were simple, she matched Amor in the most basic sense, mimicking his movements with a speed that spoke of her active life. The compliment had arisen out of nowhere, a simple observation, though one could always trust her honesty.
