The Adventure will start some time between 10/02 and 10/07

It's a good thing Oscar looked to Walsh when the boss clapped his hands, otherwise he might have missed his silent cue. Oscar jumped as he realized what was next, smiling and chuckling while beginning his climb to Walsh. He would utter multiple polite "Pardon."s and "Excuse me."s to the admins and underbosses he would have to climb past. There would be no pushing, just careful manuvering around them should they not move out of the way.

At the top, Oscar would wait for priam conrad to join him before walking beyond Walsh. It would be at this point that Oscar would make the mistake of making eye contact with his boss, which he attempted to correct by quickly looking away--but it was too late. Oscar felt his cheeks turning red, and he quickly patted them to spread out the gathering blood. "Shit sake he's just a man." Oscar mumbled to himself as he and Priam reached Velmos.

Excorting Velmos was a welcome distraction, allowing Oscar to recenter himself. Oscar would not touch Velmos to guide him forward, believe it or not the alien general had earned his trust. Both Velmos and Jules had endeared themselves to Oscar over the course of their many meetings; turns out they were pretty cool for a couple of man-eating alien warmongers.

Once they were in place, Oscar would stay standing near Velmos. Maybe he just wanted to display how comfortable he felt around Rocket's former enemy, more likely he enjoyed the view of everyone else up here at the top. Naturally he would keep his eyes forward, not wanting to accidentally lock eyes with Walsh again. He would not be able to hide a second blush.

Those same eyes nearly burst from his skull when Velmos brought up the mystery energy hiding under Littleroot. You could not possibly see it, but money signs had begun dancing across his pupils. Oscar quickly collected himself, stepping forward to briefly speak his mind.

"If I may--I doubt my opinion is valued but I just wanted to say that it would be worthwhile to trust what Velmos has said. He's had every opportunity to noncompliant, but instead he has helped Rocket time and time again. If he says there's something valuable under Littleroot, well I believe it--and I'd rather die before I let the fucking League discover it first!"

Oscar pointed to the grunt holding the Littleroot sign, and his shadow Ariados would once again emerge to cast her master's vote.

tl;dr

Knock knock

Well who could that be at this hour? Here in the sleepy town of Littleroot it was highly unusual to receive visitors past the hour of Seven PM--and would you look at that it was 8:05! Despite this highly unusual occurrence, Old Man Giuseppe was not one to ignore anyone who knocked upon his door. He grabbed his cane and began his journey through his foyer. About ten feet from his door there would be a second string of knocks.

Knock knock knock knock

Old Man Giuseppe sighed, "Hold your horses I'ma comin'!" He opened the door, and before he could even say a single word he would be met by two costumed adults and their pokemon shouting in his face.

"TRICK OF TREAT!!!"

One of the adults was Oscar Clayton, while the other was priam conrad . Oscar was dressed up as an astronaut, with his dewpider Clavis sitting on his shoulder in his own little spider space suit. Oscar held out a sack that already had a few goodies in it, his face beaming with childish glee. "Trick or treat!" He repeated, shoving the bag toward the old man. Old Man Giuseppe thought for a moment before replying, "It's still September."

Oscar shook his helmeted head, "Yeah but the world is gonna end before Halloween so we're celebrating today! Please don't deprive our pokemon of fun candy and treats before we all die horribly!" Clavis pointed one of his legs toward the bag's opening, his expression as sympathetic as he could possibly manage as a spider. The old man sighed before turning around, "Gimmie a second I'll see what I got."

As Old Man Giuseppe hobbled away, Oscar turned to address Priam. "You know, I'm glad we decided to do this instead of wait in a bush and jump out at people walking by--though I still think we should do that before the meteor arrives."

Oscar sighed with relief, "Good good, I picked the right guy." He did not answer as to why he needed Ethan, but that was likely because everything would become very clear momentarily. The elevator dinged, opening up into a dimly lit hall with black tiling. Oscar stepped forward, motioning for Ethan to follow along. At last Oscar would shed some light on what was happening.

"I've been doing experiments with Infinity Energy. I am attempting to recreate some Megalopolan tech that could help us extract Infinity Energy straight out of a living pokemon. It's messy shit but the benefits will be phenomenal." Oscar stopped in front of a door, a plaque beside it carrying the label 'Laboratory: Oscar Clayton'. From behind the door a bizarre noise could clearly be heard; it seemed like a mix of rushing wind and a screaming crowd. Oscar cleared his throat as he took out a keycard and held it close to the door handle.

"I must have fucked up somewhere, because after I made adjustments to my prototype I turned it on and well..." The door clicked, and Oscar took a deep breath before opening it. Pushing away the door so that Ethan could get a clear view from within, Oscar stepped back and grimaced as light and wind burst from his lab. Within Ethan would be able to clearly see a swirling vortex of distorted space time, a churning mountain of flesh writhing within its epicenter. Oscar tapped his fingers together, chuckling nervously.

"So yeah I need some help cleaning this up."

Oscar rubbed his chin, glancing at the wandering Genesect. He felt uncertain about Gavin's strategy, but he supposed it was worth a shot. The worst case scenario was that it did not work and they would have to try something else. Oscar snapped his fingers, "Genesect, brief with me." Genesect turned toward Oscar and marched to him immediately. It knew better than to delay when a mission was at hand.

When Genesect came close enough, Oscar would place his hands on its shoulders and reposition it so that its back would face Gavin. Genesect would briefly try to look over its shoulder, but Oscar would force back its attention by snapping. "Keep your eyes on me no matter what." Genesect complied, its large red eyes locked with Oscar's. 

Oscar took a deep breath before he began, "Now Genesect, I need you to listen very carefully. Gavin is about to release a priority one target, do you understand?" Genesect nodded, its body tensing as if preparing for combat. "Good, now what I need you to do is not attack it. Keep yourself from attack for as long as you possibly can, and when you can't hold back any more you must use nonlethal force. Are my instructions clear?"

Genesect hesitated to nod. These orders were--highly unusual. They went against its programming, was it even capable of fighting against that? After a moment of contemplation, Genesect would nod. Its loyalty to Oscar outweighed its confusion. It shall try its best. Oscar sighed, looking to Gavin and nodding to give him the go ahead to release a shadow pokemon.

Oscar's eyebrows furrowed, he is confident expression be mixed with uncertain confusion. It would seem that he was not on the same page as Fernando.

"Oh, from the way you spoke I thought you had something specific in mind. Like, you needed my help stopping one of their schemes or something? It's cool though we can talk about them more generally. I just probably can't add much beyond the usual discourse."

Oscar took on a more relaxed demeanor, leaning back as he crossed one leg over the other and folded his arms. He was not sure what Fernando was hoping to achieve here--and deep down that made him nervous. 

FERNANDO SILPH

Oscar rested upon the back of a dormant Genesect, a rare state for it as of late. During its training, dormancy was used as a constant threat to force discipline and loyalty. With the bond he has created with it, Oscar now abhors the idea of shutting it down. Yet it cannot be helped sometimes, and while Genesect may fear sleep it too knows that it must push the boundaries of its comfort for the sake of duty.

Genesect needed to be shut down so that it could be examined; soon Rocket would be manufacturing Genesects by the dozen so every scientist that is able has been tasked with getting familiar with the creature's innards. The next generation of Genesect will not quite be the same as this one, but they shall be similar enough to warrant this training.

Oscar would prefer not to watch Genesect be prodded by curious scholars, it made him vastly uncomfortable. However Genesect was having trouble being shut down without him, so Oscar resolved to oversee a few of the examinations for the sake of Genesect's comfort. Additionally, since he had been performing Genesect's maintenance, he had an astute understanding of its inner workings that could not yet be matched by any other Rocket. It made him the perfect instructor for these exercises.

Oscar awaited his latest group of curious students at the Blackstone Lab, a M.A.G.M.A. research facility overlooking Sootopolis. He hoped they would arrive soon, the quicker he could get this over with the better.

Oscar's eyes lit up when Mister Walsh mentioned that Rocket would be aiming to mine the meteor. He clapped his hands together and nearly hopped with glee, Walsh was speaking his language! There was a great deal to discuss, so Oscar waited for an appropriate moment to let his voice be heard.

"In regards to the meteor, I am all in! Genesect has already been training for a space mission, I believe it would be a perfect candidate for mining whatever awaits us on that rock."

A grunt by the name of giada morgan brought up a decent point, and Oscar would indeed bring her concerns to the forefront of the meteor discussion. "However, before we can get too excited I think an excellent observation has been made. That meteor is going to be way too fast to simply land on. How are we going to get onto the meteor's surface safely?"

Oscar snapped his fingers quickly after proposing his question, "Oh, real quick I agree with mint frost . One hundred percent. If we are going to take a city, an island like Sootopolis would likely be the easiest to conquer. Thus Mossdeep seems like a solid target." Almost as an after thought, Oscar would point to the Mt. Pyre sign. He was more invested in the meteor, but would cast his vote for a primal point nevertheless. None of the options stood out to him, but people he liked were voting for Mt. Pyre and he wanted to support them. Oscar's Shadow Ariados would dismiss her Camouflage , appearing out of thin air to scuttle toward the Mt. Pyre group.

Oscar raised an eyebrow at Fernando's answer. He had yet to hear about this incident, and it was truly surprising that someone could manage such a wound on Fernando Silph. Oscar would need to get more information about this encounter later--unless Fernando had more to share.

He just might, the cyclops ceo had put down his first card. Oscar's playful smirk faded, replaced by a look of concern. He placed his hands on the table, straightening his posture to appear more attentive. "Enough shenanigans then. What's the situation?"

Oscar smirked at Bryan's urging. "I would not call it a good idea just yet but it's a start at least." Oscar spread out his arms dramatically, his black veins growing more visible as they pushed against his flexing skin. "I'll build an Infinity Generator in here and hook it to the tree! We'll have to clear everything out and find another place to store it, but it could be worthwhile. The generator has a shit-ton of Infinity Energy output so we can just pump it into the tree and see what happens."

It was probably more dangerous than Oscar made it seem, but he would worry about those sort of details later. If ever.

"Fuuuuck if I know."

Oscar's professionalism disappeared immediately. It was impossible to maintain a proper conduct in this sort of heat! Oscar's remark was supposed to be an answer for both of Fern's questions. Oscar was unsure how long exactly their hike was to be, just that it would take somewhere between a hot minute and a while.

As for the artifact, Oscar did not want to admit that he was not exactly sure what they were looking for. The client only divulged that it was not a rock, so that was all Oscar knew. Yet as they trudged forward, Oscar felt like he could at least elaborate on the client.

"The client's more important then the artifact itself. They want the artifact and we want their stupid amount of money so we're gonna bust our asses to make sure they're satisfied. Or--put a reasonable amount of effort--into our asses? No that doesn't make any sense. You get it though, we're gonna work hard."
