and in a way, it's her favorite game of cat and mouse. which one is she, though?

"you know," she begins, flashing a smile. "zoroark's, unfortunately, have a terrible reputation." the fox beside her mimics a saddened look. the pair are practiced, poised in the art of deception. her zoroark is the best partner for crime she'll ever have, that much is clear.

"i figured it'd be the safest route to not call out my darling little fox until i was certain no one would harm it." one of her hands reaches out to pet the dark fox, fingers shifting to scratch at its chin. the sad look is quickly replaced with an affectionate one. they play the part of loving trainer and pokemon rather well, if she does say so herself. "is that not good enough reason for you, sir?"

[attr="class","giada i"]she feigns innocence with a soft gasp and a look of confusion. her, up to no good? absolutely.

"what do you mean?" acting dumb has, unfortunately, gotten her out of too many scenarios to count. she hasn't kept breathing or kept out of prison out of sheer ability alone. no, thieving includes putting on a show. and really, she'd prefer to act her way out of this than get her hands dirty.

"i thought my zoroark might enjoy the flowers too," she offers. the fox grins, stepping forward to stand at her side. the illusion holds strong for now, it seems.

her head tilts, then, to survey their surroundings. she sees no ground reinforcements standing firm behind him. she doesn't trust the sight, however. people are sneaky, that much she knows. her body stays relaxed despite the concept, as if she can weasel her way out of anything.

and sometimes, she can. other times... well, handcuffs aren't as much fun as she thought.

"i'm sorry," she murmurs. it's genuine enough of a sentiment to pass. "are we no longer enjoying each other's company? i could head to another spot if you'd prefer? there are still graves to visit, after all."

[attr="class","giada i"]"rarer than a shiny rattata?" her grin is sharp, hungry. more information will definitely be requested. "mind telling me more later?" she'll treat for dinner, after all. her partner has more than earned a feast after being so helpful. besides, food and drink make extracting information a little easier in her experience.

giada's triumphant in the art of slathering honey. at least, for now. it's the bare minimum but she's proud of it all the same. she observes her partner and the honey with an air of victory that, really, shouldn't exist.

she's quick to step back when violet beckons, settling beside her with a soft sigh. bugs would be terrible to have show up... even as someone who likes to say she loves the poisonous ones for her team, they still unnerve her all the same.

"maybe we'll be lucky and snag a bear," she offers. although... "but i did hear combee honey has gone up in value recently." the market is growing, it seems.

[attr="class","giada i"]the mention of rare pokemon makes her pause. it piques curiosity and begs to have claws sunk into. she doesn't hesitate to ask. in fact, her words are almost a little rushed, clamoring to get out of her throat as quickly as possible. "rare pokemon? what kinds have you found?"

they do, after all, earn a hefty price on the black market.

the honey stares at them as it sits on the branch's end. and she stares back, eyes flittering between the honey and the tree. a soft hum of understanding follows. high up but not too high up? she could manage that...

"like... this?" she murmurs as she steps up and smacks some honey onto the highest middle portion of the tree. it's slightly covered by leaves but within reach. to her, it looks like it'll do. she steps back, however, to allow her partner a look.

"i'm guessing bugs, mostly?" truthfully, she's not sure what else would come here for honey.

and why does she ask, hm? perhaps it's better to show him...

a dusk ball opens to breathe life into the form of a pokemon. a shady fox, snickering and snarling, slowly grows to full height behind her. and as it fully stands, she plucks two crystallized flowers from their bed of life. the remaining flowers shudder slightly as the two stolen flowers are replaced beneath her zoroark's illusion ability. it's almost as if she never took them at all...

"a shame that it's classified," she idly remarks, slowly rising to her feet. the procured flowers are kept hidden, her zoroark working to ensure a safe get away. it could fail, that much she knows. "it sounds like such interesting information."

[attr="class","giada i"]huh... is it a melodious name? she had never quite thought about it before. now that it's in the forefront of her mind, however, she echoes it back over and over until it becomes something more. something grandiose, something worthy of hymns, something better than herself.

she flashes a grin at violet and the edges widen further when the light haired woman procures a branch for them. and as if she wasn't certain before, she knows now: bringing violet along was a fabulous idea.

"good thinking!" it's genuine, even. she wouldn't have thought of a branch. the piece of wood is passed over and she happily accepts with a chuckle. "no, i definitely don't want to get my hands sticky like that."

the jar of honey is uncapped, then, and she's quick to stick the end of the branch into the jar. the honey glistens when it's pulled out, sticky and gross on the end of the stick.

"how far up should we place it?" better yet, is there a particular placement that's more effective?

[attr="class","giada i"]rangers protecting some simple flowers? they must be important... and the desire to have them grows in response.

she's certain, now, they would fetch quite the price. her hands itch with inaction at the thought.

"are you a ranger?" she questions. her smile begins to bloom, petals sharp as thorns. "have you been sent to guard these?" one person is easier to get rid of than, say, twenty.

she lingers on a particular piece of information, however. strange properties lures her in, raises her curiosity, and threatens one of her nine lives. curiosity did kill the cat, after all.

"what kind of strange properties?"

and satisfaction, after plucking these pretty flowers and hauling them away, brings the cat back.

[attr="class","giada i"]off-limits... the concept, truthfully, has never deterred her before. she sees it as a suggestion, nothing more.

and her grin grows with stammering, with information hidden in stuttered syllables and the hesitant tone rising from his throat. yes... that'll do nicely.

"i'm sure a few ghosts wouldn't mind being rid of these things," she idly comments. her fingers trail up and down the glowing petals of nearby flowers. they clink together for a moment, rigid in the way they sway.

she hums over the explanation, plucking through it until something interests her.

"they grow everywhere, hm?" quite a wide range to protect, isn't it? she sees a plan formulating. if she's thwarted here... well, there's other locations. "how do they ensure all of them aren't disturbed?"

[attr="class","giada i"]seeing pretty, sparkling things in the outskirts of slateport is, without a doubt, confusing. nothing pretty is ever here. well, except for her.

and yet, there's these glimmering flowers blooming practically everywhere. they spread across the roads, the alleys, even some of the trashcans have one mixed in with moss grown in from lack of use. it's beautiful, really.

"wonder how much these go for," she muses, half to herself and half to the man she found in a bar. one is brushed with tentative fingers, not quite willing to pluck it but twitchy with the notion. she bets they'd garner a small fortune... enough to leave this place even, if the fates are in a good mood today.

her head turns after a moment to stare at... what was his name again? dustin? no. devin? nope. darwin? certainly not.

"danny." finally got it. "ever seen these before?"

"debatable." besides, there's not necessarily an art to thieving. some prefer high profile targets but her? any open space she can fit into works well enough.

his lips spread into a smile. and it's jagged enough to cut but there's something about it that's... attractive. huh, odd.

"how important, huh?" even with his finger under her jaw, she'd still drag her eyes up to look at him. he commands his room and with it, her attention. besides, there's little else she can do with her wrists tightly bound.

"a pretty boy worth a pretty penny?"

her luxray snarls, teeth gnashing together in barely contained aggression. it's fitting, really; a wild beast for a wild girl.

she doesn't make a move. she doesn't escape and she doesn't recall her large cat. her options are slim, even she knows that.

and yet, she grins. something about it is sort of exciting in a way she hasn't felt in a long time. she chases the feeling a little longer despite knowing better. story of her fucking life, huh?

"not happening."

and finally, her luxray lunges for the lycanroc. she shifts into a tackle in tandem with the electric cat, her body hurtling toward soleil without hesitation.

was kanto any better in the restaurant department? well... no. celadon city, despite all the lavish casinos and big spenders, had some horrible dinner places. her favorite? a small mom and pop place that didn't mind feeding a starving teenager their old leftovers.

she frowns at him, a small wrinkle rising on her nose.

"it's necessary," she retorts. how else would she repay him? definitely not money... she doesn't have much of that lately.

oh. right, she's the gps holder huh? her eyes dart to the screen before rising to survey their surroundings.

"uh, i think the next street on the left is the first place?" if she's reading the directions right, anyway.
