Brushing himself off from their brief firefight, he had the feeling that their encounter was no accident nor was their aggression. Most pokemon, especially ghost pokemon couldn't track down someone as well as this duo had. One having been a psychic type made him wonder what trickery was pulled here. Of course it wasn't like he could just ask them.

Epitaph gave his trainer a discerning look. ''Gengar.'' Theory seemed to make since to him. He scruffed the hair on the back of his head.

''Pretty fucking wild that they tracked us down. Guess that's what we get for leaving witnesses.'' It was a half joke. ''Come on. Lets blow this popsicle stand before something else shows up. I think that's enough hiking for today.'' Deciding to follow the little creek that flowed down from the pond back down the mountain, Andy neglected that pokemon were also drawn to water sources.

At a wide section the trickling of the running water was interrupted by another two pokemon. Of course it was an exeggutor making most of the racket as it sat on a sandy bank. The palossand at its base was mostly chilling in its shadow. Maybe it would have looked natural if sand castles just randomly occurred in nature.

''Hold up,'' he whispered. ''We got a bit of a roadblock. Exeggutor and a palossand. I know that castle's always looking for some souls,'' he half joked again. ''Taph,'' he looked to his glistening gengar. Like always, the ghost pokemon would fall back into the utilitarian hypnosis. While Andy already had a palossand, two couldn't hurt.

Watching with disgust of his own as his crush-commander barfed, Andy finally considered the possibility that perhaps everyone did not have the same tolerance for gore as he did. The headless megalopolan wasn't nearly as unsightly as the old champion at Mauville had been. Doug acted like a champion all his own however, just continuing on even after all that.

It sounded a lot like a masked hero or something out of a comic book. Certainly this region couldn't be host to such silliness.

The appearance of the masked culprit's own two pokemon put him more on edge. Roserade looked like a joke, but the torterra was definitely intimidating if just for its size. The gengar tensed. Attacks levied at the others present, including his friends, made it fairly clear that whatever comical moniker they went by this Pokkenger was not an ally.

''Taph!'' A singular alert was uttered as the costumed foe rushed at him. ''Gengar!'' The speedy flank forced the ghost type to change up his strategy very quickly. Eyes wide, Andy began to slide across the ground to his left. Just before fingers found flesh he would rocket to side through the mist.

''Gengar,'' spoken with determination, he steered his trainer out of harms way with poltergeist. But the glistening ghost wasn't done there, as trashcans, a park bench, flower pots, any loose item in his immediate vicinity were lifted and launched at the offending trainer with spectral power.

With a chirp of rubber of stone, Andy's tennis shoes helped him slide to a halt several feet away. Snatching a pokeball, he would feel a little safer with some closer defense. Casting it at his feet, an Alolan marowak came forth. The mist filled view with various items pelting towards an attacker caused the pokemon to ready her bone immediately.

''Discourage this cunt,'' her trainer demanded. Bringing her staff to her mouth, blue green ghostly flames burst forth in a fire blast that surged through the mist.
