Getting to yourself was a lot easier to do when no one else was around for a long time.

A small luxury of the elderly.

The youth had to go throwing themselves into circumstance, happenstance and every other stance to get the experience needed to figure out something, anything about themselves, about the world.

Mistakes would be made. . .

"So until you get there, when you have to, you try to show some humility to balance out showing your ass." -but atonement and perhaps humility wasn't a fitting flavor on everyone's tongue.

When the drifloon seemed ready Sénon would secure it with a premiere ball, "The last of these I ran into in the wild self-destructed and blew my ass off."

-while he gave Adrian the lore references. "That's how I met Cait." That's right, Adrian hadn't heard this story yet.

He held out his arm offering support to his Inkay which promptly landed and began to suction the back of his hand with big blooper energy.

They barely had the chance to dwell in their magical little moment before that other shoe dropped.

The celestial touchdown of the meteors and the resulting pink mist was the was thing he could take it before the world became nonsensical to his senses.

He held Cait tight at the sound of breaking glasses and flying debris. The voices in the air were loud and altered but before long, they ceased to be in panic.

His urge to protect to his woman and the seeds she carried taking up most of the processing power in his brain. It made him comb over every piece of data his mind processed for information.

Others saw this mist but few seemed to be hurt by it.

When he turned back to see what Cait was focused on the rest of the Soiree's guests seemed to vanish.

Front and center he could see the Cabin and three children calling out to her. It was clear she could see them but it was equally clear they couldn't see him.

They only seemed to respond to her.

"those are my babies," from the moment she spoke it, she transfixed on them, even going as far as letting go of him and moving closer to what Sénon could only rationalize to be hallucinations. "Hey. . ." he spoke lowly to Cait.

Low enough that he could just barely hear something speaking lowly to him. A vibration through space his ears interpreted as linguistic; not unlike the throaty rumble of a pokémon's cry.

At his back, gravity pulsated in waves coming from the swirl of two points of illumination in sync,

...one cerulean and one lavender.

The crushing pressure of being mouthed by a sea dragon was abrupt but the real trouble (and ass-saving) came from the scuba gear, mainly the oxygen tank on his back.

Gyarados were big, but they weren't that big.

It could fit the whole of him in its mouth, but it couldn't swallow him, certainly not with that tank on his back.

So, true to its ornery nature it began to attempt to crush the ranger in its mouth.

A nearing Dewgong was able to close the distance but a wayward SURF attack would cover the pursuing rangers in an underwater torrent of muddy water.

Hot on Sénon's rescue, Dewgong was cut off from the communication of its trainer for now, it had to try to think on its own.

"I'd like to say Kingsman." It was hard to bring up Raziel Beckett in most capacities.

Sénon was well aware of how little the late-teen wanted to be in the spotlight. That made it difficult to recommend him for certain work.

"He's a duty-bound guy and he could use the extra money." Lars might not have seen it, but Sénon was very slowly squinting, as he if wasn't quite sure of what he was saying. "Also, I think its safe to say the paperwork wont ever catch fire on his watch." Despite having his fiery fear he was a stellar ranger in all fields.

Not to mention 'guard dog' work was well within his wheel house.

Taking a bite of the pickle he finished what Cait wouldn't.

He'd eat anything if she was feeding it to him.

"Actually I have." He made a mental note to check up with her in a couple of days about the doctor. He had to.

If he didn't make note he'd forget considering Cait managed to ask about something he had realized he'd been itching to talk to about. "Thinking of it like a portmanteau, I came up with a few odd names but there was one that stuck out."

The memory of that night had come and gone a few times since the first night he thought it up.

It was a desire that persisted in his conscious mind. Naturally, it felt like a special moment to speak it aloud; to plant the seed of history.

"Enca." When the name came to mind now, he couldn't not visualize her in his mind.

His little Gamepiece, and now she had a name.

Whatever. The next rotom was going to be his, and the next bounty pokémon, and the next unown.

Goddamn Adrian, hogging all the good shit. Sinnohians? Sinnohites? Not a diffident people.

Turning his attention to a wild one passing by Sénon took notice of a drifloom and tugged at it trying to float away.

Crimsen attempted to befriend Drifloon!

Before long its attempts to get away became less and less as it realized the human handling it meant it no harm, no came to float in place, happy to belong rather than further aimless wandering.

He managed to keep his distance for the hoard of wayward spirit pokémon.

He'd gotten here later than most this time around and having missed the unown gathering weeks back he figured his luck to be at an all time low.

He wasn't going to snag one of these rare ghost-types but he could still protect the peace.

and considering he had a spare pokéball on his person, well maybe his luck could balance out.

Still, it was an unnerving sight to see them moving through the dark desert like malevolent night lights.

Just passing through the tall grass a redheaded man flattened the blades of green under his feet as he made his way.

A monferno kept pace with the man, its arms crossed as it looked about for threats.

Along with them a chimchar using far more energy to keep up, its fur the same wine color as the man's hair.

Seeing a charmander in the short distance, the restrained gaze of the man fell upon a younger face.

Had they been in Kanto, he might have stopped for a battle, but he wasn't a kid anymore.

-and Kanto was in a sense, so far away it might as well have been in another galaxy.

So he went to move on, only for a rustling in the bushes to stop him in his tracks.

A grumpig huh? Hard pass. He'd heard Bailey Cooper had a prevolve that made a bit of a name for itself but Sénon wasn't very interested.

Once again he turned around to see Adrian laying claim to the better catch for the third time. "-oh come on!"
