He liked the look of long swim trunks with shades obviously; the sun was no joke even over the ocean. Plus what brought the whole look together; a slightly puffy vest with no shirt underneath.

He could feel the wind on his bare chest and he had so many pockets. He took a tiny bottle from one of them.

He could float away on Ranton's back and take shots of Rum under the sun without a care in the world.

So long as that damned boat just kept going with the fishing and didn't interject on his shit.

"Shit" being him just sitting there with his shades and his gyarados and his slightly puffy vest and his ignoring these people on this boat.

Climbing atop the scrapheap that was a different junk car the ranger had a better view of the target and was further from the 'splash zone'.

Flareon was a bit hesitant to just attack a big 'thing'. Her build more for burning than busting.

"This isn't exactly going to be easy for you." He winked at the flareon "-but lets put in the work anyway; FLARE BLITZ!"

With his signal the Flame Pokémon, wrapped itself in the namesake of its classification and rammed the fender denting in the trunk and causing glass to blast from the rear window.

He didn't show he was jealous, his family owned a chain of casinos basically his entire life.

He had a pokerface most deities couldn't crack.

He loved Pidgey and their line so much. The only thing more Kanto than a mess of pidgey was going fishing and pulling nothing but Magikarp. "Jett looks pretty healthy."

His mind flashed to the Pidgeot he lost to that thing.

In a better reality, he wouldn't have lost her that way.

It took a little waiting to get the next pokémon to show.

It turned out to be time well spent as a Wishiwashi poked its head through the surface tension of the water.

SLEEP POWDER wouldn't be effective in the water and the fishy used laid down a HAZE to protect itself anyway.

Baby had to use his vines to grab hold of the little wriggler but after some time, he got it.

Crimsen attempted to capture WishiWashi!

Feeling, came back to him suddenly. "GAHHGG!" He pulsated up before settling on his back trying to take mental inventory.

He sat up ignoring the tingling about his body, and the headaches. His chest hurt and vision was cloudy.

No, that was just some kind of fog sweeping the ground. He had to turn over to all-fours and get up to his knees slowly. His arms felt so heavy.

He was wearing his Crimsen gear, including the helmet. He couldn't say why, he could barely tell where he was. He was hallucinating deities of legend in the sky and land masses free-floated in space.

None of the circumstances made sense, he was sore and tired but his instincts and reflexes were fine.

He still knew a nameless rocket grunt when he saw one; they were so proud to wear that big target of an "R" on their chests.

Even in his fatigued state...

-he powered through wandering west, checkmating one lone grunt and clearing a path to find a place to hide and recover while getting his bearings.

With blurred vision he descended stairs that felt familiar. Before long, his foot sought leverage from steps that weren't actually there, sending him barrelling out into the void.

"That place in Mauville isn't a Game Corner, we take branding pretty seriously and we've never had a location in Hoenn." In reality, he was probably overthinking things. "-but we're opening one and when we do that little pool-hall in Mauville might not like Mrs. Game," He emphasized the name to remind her she was very soon wasn't going to be seen as just herself anymore.

The moment it was known she was with child she would become, in no small part, an extension of himself. "-in their establishment once their business starts to tank." People who didn't like him would extend that 'not liking', to her. He'd hate to be the reason she couldn't go back to her favorite private places again.

More likely though, gambling was something that would fall to the wayside when the kid arrived.

Then again, if he was still running around all tactical-stealth and red-hooded fucking up Rocket's money once he became a father...

Cait would probably keep her hobbies too.

He ignored the segue to any Silph related conversations although his response did find a correlation through the notion that money would be a "non-issue" for their offspring; "Is giving a child everything they want, or need, really the right thing to do?"

After her kiss he hung his head and sighed; finally starting to feel some jubilation over sharing a secret he'd safe harbored for decades.

Although, "Well. . ." he wasn't quite done sharing yet.

"They might not let you back in, when a Game Corner opens across the street." He closed his eyes, remembering the talks with his uncle in Kanto in the weeks prior. "My Uncle wants me to find the right city in Hoenn to open our third location."

It was a big responsibility among others he'd been charged with taking on but with a child on the way he was beginning to understand he needed to start shaping the future he wanted to leave for his heirs.
