Trick or treating was a past time that Summer Prescott had long grown out of. As a matter of fact, she rarely went trick or treating when she was a young girl. Her family, or rather her father more specifically, had her focus on the reality of life rather than enjoy things like knocking on neighbors doors and getting candy.

So when she agreed to take little Eris Halla out to trick or treat, she wasn't sure what she was getting herself into.

Perhaps, deep inside, she wanted to protect Eris. Summer wanted to offer her a chance at a better childhood than she had. But she had already suffered so much. Maybe she was already too late.

She shook the idea from her mind as she finished the last touches to her costume, the same witch outfit she had gone to a Halloween party in and met Callan Young at. Still revealing, but she tried to make herself less R-rated and more PG-13 for Eris's sake.

"Eris? Are you ready, my dear?" she called, adding the last touches of mascara on her false lashes before closing the tube.

[attr="class","inner-finally"]She doesn't remember too much about trick or treating as a kid, especially considering how far from the city her family had lived. Instead of going from door to door to receive candies, she often spent her time holding prank wars against the ghosts that lingered in the forest or decorating her house with spooky objects.[break][break]

Her costume is much simpler than anyone would expect. Of all her fairy tales, adventures and little dreams, she chooses to stick to the good old Little Red Riding Hood. Her ribbons are tied perfectly, her fingers moving over Reiner's mane as she mixes the last bit of grey dye into it. And with the glitter still on her fingertips, she reaches for her basket just to complete her costume.[break][break]

"Yeahp! And Reiner's all ready too!" Where she smiles, the Luxray merely huffs, closing his eyes as he begins to shake his nerves out.[break][break]

Summer fixed her hair with a dash of hairspray before standing, pulling her dress down to cover her legs. She made her hat was pinned so it wouldn't fall off as they went along. Her NICKIT scurried down the stairs, coming to greet Eris and her Pokemon.

"You look so adorable, Eris! Are you excited?" she asked, smiling at her as she reached the lower level.

"Reiner looks ready too. I say we're set to go. Shall we try one of the nice neighborhoods around Mossdeep? You know, they typically give out the good candy at houses like those..."

She extended her hand should Eris care to hold it, opening the door to escort them out.

"You look really really pretty, Ms Summer!" So she settles for a few more words to try and put forth her thoughts, a smile tugging at her lips as she reaches for Summer's hand. "If we're talking nice neighbourhoods, the houses aren't too far down!"[break][break]

Tugging her along, Eris can't help but giggle a little as her excitement continuously overflows. How long has it been since she's done something like this? What kind of treats are they gonna get? What kind of pranks will she pull this time? All these thoughts swirl in her head as Reiner leads the way forwards, eyeing each house until he finally settles on one.[break][break]

The doorbell is just there for them to press. And after the first time, she finds herself having to resist the urge to spam it like she does paxton concordas's, hopping up and down as she waits for someone to open the door.

Eris Halla was truly a darling. Calling her Ms. Summer, and complimenting her nonetheless. Summer couldn't help a squeezing sensation in her chest as she looked at the young girl.

She deserved the world, more than she had been through.

"You know you can just call me Summer, right? It's okay, no formalities are needed," she said gently, brushing a hand over her head tenderly.

She allowed the girl to take her hand and lead her, Surtur the EMBOAR trailing behind them as a guard should anything happen. They made it down the street, ready to knock at the first door.

"Remember, say trick or treat! Then we can snatch the candy," Summer said with a laugh, going to the door and knocking.

For a moment, it looks like Eris is doing the most complex mental gymnastics she could possibly manage and failing horribly at that. And Reiner merely cocks his head at the sight, slowly raising a paw to her face. "Sum-mer... Summer... Summer!"[break][break]

Ah, she's finally broken out of it. With that wide smile she has while calling Summer Atreides's name, Reiner has to delay his little wake-up slaps for another day. Pity, since he'd been looking forward to the rise he'd get out of her.[break][break]

But perhaps, they can get a better reaction from the unsuspecting to-be victims on this street. The inseparable duo watches the door like hungry Mandibuzz, their excitement clearly uncontainable as they hop a little on their feet. Finally, after what seems to be an eternity of waiting, the door creaks open.[break][break]

"Trick or treat!!"

Summer listened — and waited — patiently as the girl spoke her name. She could tell, to Eris, that it seemed foreign without the "Miss" that she usually put in front of it. But, eventually, to felt right. Natural.[break][break]

And, though Summer wouldn't admit it out loud, hearing her say her name so casually without a care in the world made her heart swell. She hid her blush, escorting her from the house to start the trek to the first place they'd attack.[break][break]

She stayed close, behind the duo as Eris knocked on the door excitedly. The longer it took for the door to open, the more impatient Summer grew. She almost decided to go up herself and bang on the door, to demand whoever it was to come out. But, then it opened.[break][break]

"Trick or treat!" Though her face was more sinister behind Eris's, telling the individual they'd better give the girl something good or else.

[attr="class","inner-finally"]Though Eris doesn't quite notice the scares that Summer Atreides presents, the poor stranger and Reiner most certainly do. And the Luxray can't help but snicker as the man begins to panic, reaching behind his door for his candy bowl.[break][break]

Instead of grabbing a handful of random treats, he holds the bowl out for Eris and encourages her to take whatever she likes with a (rather terrified) smile. Strawberry marshmallows, some chocolates, and perhaps, even a stick of gum or two - She's quick to pick out those that most kids would brawl each other for, grinning as she holds some out for Summer.[break][break]

"You should have some too, M-" She cuts herself off quick, hopping on her toes for a brief second. "Summer! These chocolates are supposed to be really good!"

The terrified man's expression was quick to ease Summer's nerves, allowing her shoulders to relax as he rushed to grab the bowl of candy for Eris. And when she was allowed to pick anything she wanted, she was more than pleased. The smile on her face was telltale enough.[break][break]

She waited as Eris picked her fill, raising her eyebrows as she told her to pick some chocolate as well. "Oh, my dear, I really don't need any. This is all for you, after all."[break][break]

However, with a quick hand, Summer snatched a piece of chocolate before waving, popping the piece in her mouth.[break][break]

"Thank you, kind sir. Happy Halloween!" though she sounded almost evil when she said it.

Waving at the man, Eris swears he stands at the door shaking for quite a bit until they're far enough, then quickly runs back into his house. If that meant that they just put one house out of operation for the other kids... she can't help that smug little smirk she has when she imagines the looks of dismay on their face.[break][break]

"What if you brought some back for Mars and Barnaby?" Pulling herself back to reality, Eris does start to remind herself of all the others that were probably busy doing their own things for tonight. "I could probably make something nice with these candies too. I'm thinking... some cookies or cupcakes! What do you think, Summer?"
