scaling down the sea uncharacteristically, any onlooking denizens of eternatus would see an onix with derek holding on by the crest of it's head. matias was somewhere in here as well, though it was hard to keep track of him with the low quality flashlight gripped between his teeth as he fumbled through his rucksack.

as they were greeted by the deep, it was custom that they return the gesture. "you ready?" derek asks as he looks over to matias, preparing to step into hell.

but this was matias silph they were talking about. of course he was ready. it was a wonder that he got groudon's handler to accompany him on this mission.

he would've absorbed the energy on his own as some kind of display, but that would only hinder his ability to work. derek didn't need the silph to think of him as some kind of slacker. in this, they could be equals. not that the avatar was likely to see it that way...

even if his pace is stifled by the ocassional grimace of pain, he proceeds to mine for the minerals required. even taking note of what lingered upon their surroundings. this place was ripe with the treasures he needed.
