The private training room smelled vaguely of sweat and protein shakes. A treadmill was pushed into the corner, whirring with life. It was always a good time to get a light job in if you asked Temp; it helped that the doctors had recommended this to help with his feet and legs. The burns might have been gone but the damage would remain for a while yet.[break][break]

The heat of Hoenn summer was starting to trickle into the cool and stale air of the submarine. Sweat had started to form on the back of his neck in a thick sheen, yet it was comforting more than stifling for the man. He idly wondered if Cillian Quinn was melting in his office or if he had it cold enough to freeze water in there like usual.[break][break]

The door cracked open, having Tempest put on his most friendly smile as he powered down his machine. He had been waiting, after all.[break][break]

"Valsa, right?" Bubbly as always. Tempest would offer her a (only slightly) sweaty hand to shake.

Tempest grumbled as the sun beat down on him, the starting of summer causing sweat to bead on the back of his neck. Tiamat was next to him, the shiny Milotic slithering on the hot ground like the serpent she was. Tempest sighed as he squinted out over the area.[break][break]

"They were probably too lazy to keep up a water show." Tempest muttered to his pokemon. Sighing, he shrugged and stepped away from the doors.

The couple glanced at one another when Makoto Kurumi ordered and then went to Tempest. They would silently agree that it was a shame to lose such a loyal customer....[break][break]

Tempest himself didn't notice Makoto till they spoke. He started some, brown eyes wide when he stared up at the other from his seat. Sniffing, Tempest wiped his face on the back of his hand (it didn't help much) before forcing a wobbly smile and nodding.[break][break]

"M-makoto! Nice to see you! Of course!"[break][break]

He was clearly trying very hard to keep it together. But his eyes trailed away from theirs, avoiding eye contact, as he picked up his spoon and started to play with his food again. Hunching in his shoulders as if to appear smaller, Tempest looked torn between embarrassed and relieved.[break][break]

The couple brought Makoto's food, a double serving on the house, and skittered away quickly before Tempest spoke again.[break][break]

"... sorry... um... you have to see me like this..."[break][break]

Tempest still didn't look at them. His face was a deep red in his cheeks.

"Uh-huh. Super cool? Do they have a six-pack and everything?" Playing along, Tempest peered at Shred Zeppelin with a shit-eating grin for a few more heavy seconds. You know, just to be kind of a dick and watch the guy squirm. [break][break]

In the end, though, Tempest just raised his arms in a vague shrug. Well, best-of-his-ability shrug. The bandages all on his hands and up his left arm made it look kind of weird.[break][break]

"I'm not about that shovel talk type shit. I know if someone fucked with Lulu Flint she is more than capable of skinning their nuts herself. She's a straight up mad scientist bad-ass."[break][break]

Nodding to himself, Tempest had the image of Lulu cross his mind that was just super jacked. Like, huge muscled arms in her black shirt and lab-coat. Damn, that would be so cool. Lulu was so cool.[break][break]

.... hm. Maybe he should have let the doctor know about whatever Cillian Quinn had given him before this.[break][break]

One thing did nag at him, though. It made Temp look contemplative before he looked back at Shred.[break][break]

"... Lulu's a bad-ass, but she's nicer than she knows. I think the worst thing someone could do is try and fuck with her heart and not be serious about it."

The Iron Leaves eyed her metallic brother, unfeeling and unflinching as she trotted by Tempest's side. She didn't spare a glance at the woman, either, eyes too busy scanning the other pokemon. So similar to herself yet so different.[break][break]

"Landmarks, anywhere that looks like it might be a good base. Thank kind of stuff." It was mostly just a lot of trail blazing and boot stomping. Leaving breadcrumb trails for other people to come in and do the hard work of clearing shit out. It wouldn't be fun but it was better than being out here alone with Mother-knew-what.[break][break]

Tempest nodded to the woman before starting on the trail he had been on before seeing her; he had veered off to see if she was friend or foe.[break][break]

"Which department you under? I'm on the strike force." If she was anything other than Assault, that was probably why Tempest hadn't met up with her before now. He would keep his rank to himself for the moment; it didn't seem important.

"Ancient? Really?" The surprise lingered in his voice but he wouldn't press. Tempest knew better than to ask a woman her age. Calpurnia didn't look much older than himself but it was better to not risk it. Not even a Beast could stop a raging lady who had been scorned.[break][break]

The woman before him smiles like a shark. Tempest finds he likes her more for it; it reminds him of the brief memories of his mother.[break][break]

"I only wanted to reach out to the best." Is offered. Motioning to the file for the serum, Tempest allow Calpurnia time to open and look through his failed iterations and notes from each.[break][break]

"I think I can make something that can nullify Avatars. Avatarship is just a constant juicing of Infinity Energy into a suitable host... if we can cut that off..." Tempest trailed off, allowing the woman to fill in the gaps on her own. He trusted she was smart enough to do so.

SWITCH took a moment to process what Prime 'said' to her. Adjusting her position with whirs and clicks of machinery, she interfaced a few seconds with shrill beeps before her own binary 'spoke' back to the other Genesect.[break][break]

The Genesect was quiet, her visor-like eyes glowing and dimming a few times.[break][break]

"I dunno, I bet you would be cute if you were purple. Do you think you'd get her black stripe things? They do say that a person and their pokemon start to look alike after a while..." Tilting his head back, Tempest gave a soft grin. He pretended to examine Cillian Quinn's face for some signs of the pigment changing, or the tentacles, or whatever else might be growing from him.[break][break]

It would be... hard. To course correct and not be _as_ obsessed. Tempest would still push forward in this, though. His research so far had been really promising. If they could stop even one League Avatar just once it would be a huge breakthrough.[break][break]

"I think I could handle anything you threw at me if you had them." Is said, kind of smug with a false innocence. Leaning in, Temp wastes no time in trying to sink his teeth into the flesh of Cil's shoulder. It's blocked off by clothes, a shame, and not truly enough to hurt too bad. It won't even leave any satisfying marks on the other beyond the indent of teeth for a few minutes.[break][break]

He follows this up by licking a stripe up Cillian's throat. Breaths hot breath against his ear.[break][break]

"I'm going to put your dinner in the fridge. I'm ready for my make-up sex, hot stuff."[break][break]

He catches the lobe between his teeth, plucking it taunt with a scrape. Disentangling himself from his husband and standing up, Tempest looks very pleased with himself as he goes to grab the still-closed takeout container.

Brooding? Oh, no no no. Tempest would never have this on his ship.[break][break]

Smiling as wide and bright as the early-summer sin beating down on both of their backs. This vessel was small and unassuming enough to not draw any unwanted eyes. The massive Sharpedo hiding just below it's shadow would also deter anyone who did sniff too close.[break][break]

"Yup! The entrance is caved in up top, but we can dive under to a hidden moon pool. You ready to get wet?"[break][break]

Giving a sudden and sharp whistle, Tempest urged the boat into a soft stop before they beached. A flock of Wingull and Pelipper landed on the hood of the boat, all of them looking down with beady eyes at the two men. Temp gave the pokemon a little salute before dropping anchor.

As they barreled around obstacles, Tempest found himself being passed. Damn! But, no use in despairing... soon he and Marina would show them the boost that they had planned for! Then, everyone in front of them would see![break][break]

... At least, that's what Tempest hoped. He wondered if he would just do his boost now. But... then again, the obstacles and waves looked choppy up ahead.[break][break]

Yeah, it would be best to save it and just hope he didn't hit anyone as they all clumped together.
