His personality does not mesh with Selena. The gym leader's arrogance clashes with his pride and leaves them at odds. The clock continues to tick in Katherine's mind. It felt like their group's progress wasn't all too bad so far, or at least, it was better than before. However, she knew they'd have to outdo themselves in the last part of the course if they wanted to break a record like she desired.

Even so, Fernando does not give in. The faster they complete this the sooner they can relax and treat themselves to swearing off any sort of exercise whatsoever.

They're right there. Sweat drips into his eyes, hair slick against his forehead, calves burning. His body screams at him to slow down but the finish line is right there and all he wants is to be done for the day, to be done for good, to forget about this stupid competition and its stupid medals that were driving him to the brink of physical and mental exhaustion.
