Another day, another race. With his faithful Yanmega, Balder was ready to run once again. And they would try to get on the leaderboard once more. Those medals were a necessity. Why? So he can display them in his future house of course! Plus the rewards he had heard of sounded... interesting. Yanmega decided to open the race with Tailwind while buffing himself with his own Speed boost

While Josh had participated in many different sports competitions over the years, this would be his second Pokeathlon, and his first in the Hoenn branch. His athleticism driven from his past as an officer and from getting in shape for movie parts would aid him here. But he needed to rely on a team, and not just that... Needed to pick a Pokemon that could be an asset as well. Josh had considered Lightning for his lightning speed, but he had no speed boosting moves. He needed a Pokemon that could increase its speed...

Like his Scorbunny.

Josh was still getting to know the Galarian Pokemon, but this would be a good start. So he had chosen DeRabbito, Rabbito for short.

As the flag went down, Josh rocketed off with Rabbito. The Scorbunny seemed ready for this, and as soon as it began, Josh called out for Agility in turn. Another Pokemon on their team had used Tailwind.

Perhaps they could pull this off after all...

it was a good day to bust some leg muscles again. in the case of sharpedo and kazimir though legs and arm muscles might be more appropriate to say as the two sat in the water ready for the starting gun to shoot. once it did the two were off, both of them using their agility to get ahead of the curve as they shot forward in the water. sharpedo was able to gain a bit mroe distance however with the help of a tailwind that flew around his fin and gave him a bit of a speed boost to accelerate him to the first position easy.

A slow start, as per usual. The man hadn't stretched properly before the race and the Yanmega still seemed sleepy. But they still got up to speed real quick, with a well-placed use of Psych Up, copying the stats of the Blaziken that accompanied the wonderful lady on the field. But would this be enough to allow the team to finish this race quickly?[break]

A rough start. It was to be expected, Josh and Rabbito were still getting used to each other. But with the use of agility, they had been able to regain some momentum. Josh broke into a spring, trying to motivate the competitive Scorbunny to do the same in return. "Agility!" Josh called to the Scorbunny once more, who was starting to feel it...

The hurdles began to come up, and while the Blaziken helped, the two of them legged the rest, hurdling over them with precision and grace. So far so good...

The sounds of the crowd were drowned out by the roar of the water as his head dipped back and forth between strokes. Kazimir was determined to win this in a new personal best and so did torpedo who was still leagues ahead of him. Of course he wouldn't dream of catching g up, his Pokémon was that good, but it was just the notion of a challenge that drove him. He had to win. He needed to win, or die trying.

The finish line was approaching quickly. While they hadn't been as fast as some previous runs, hopefully they would score a good time. Maybe they might actually beat the score that Balder had scored with Kazimir and some others previously? To finish this run, Yanmega used Bug Buzz to vibrate the air and move obstacles away.[break]

Only a bit more to go. Josh called out to his Scorbunny as he ran as fast as his legs could carry him, darting to and fro as every obstacle that came about entered their path. Rabbito was in the zone now, and if they could just manage to keep it going a little longer, they would be able to finish in good time, he hoped... They just had to keep going, keep going, keep going...

"FINISH IT!"

At its Trainer's rallying cry, Rabbito rocketed itself forward, speeding across the finish line...
