LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

a botanical garden's family of victreebel seem to be ill. the owners of the garden have requested the help of any volunteer for their full recovery. upon arriving, your character would find their stomachs to be bulging more than usual. a foul stench fills the air, replacing the species' trademark sweet scent.[break][break][break]

However, considering the characters the League keeps under their payroll, a little common sense is enough to make him one of the brightest minds in Hoenn. That mixed in with his own curiosity plays a part of why he even entertains such a request.

After a quick pit stop at a PC, he enlists his Marill's help in performing a BELLY DRUM to the affected Victreebel. Proper massaging is enough to coax them into regurgitating the toxins they've ingested. Further analysis is reserved for a lab. Content with his sample, Fernando leaves them better than he found them.

the smeargle does his job to tickle the victreebel, releasing the odor that it shouldn't have in the first place.

kyle covers his orifices as it fills the area. he tries to stop himself from gagging, which he successfully does. the same cannot be said for his pokemon, however, who quickly exits the scene as soon as he does his job.

he chases after his pokemon, leaving the rest of the job to those who actually know what they are doing.

“yeah, maybe i should get one of these.” valerio muses as he feeds one of the victreebels with the league-sanctioned antidote in preparation for the upcoming war. with similar reported cases happening all over the region, hoenn wildlife brimming with ultra beast poison, he realizes there is magic to certain poison-types like victreebel and how they manage to avoid being rabid unlike the previous affected ones.[break][break]

but as soon as people already started flocking in the garden, he slowly breaks away from the group, beneath the sight of other volunteers. valerio knows a sample of his own would be nice to keep.[break][break]

Yikes.

Whatever this was, was definitely not messing around.

Normally he dealt with Flying-types down at the Sanctuary but as of late there were more and more different types coming in for treatment... it was.

It was horrible.

Who knew if there was enough of the medicine to go around? What kind of insanity was this?

The Ribombee cackled with glee as she began to spin and spin, and spin Pollen Puff after Pollen Puff before handing it out to the sick Pokémon in the area.

Bailey Cooper deployed Pinpin, letting the Pyukumuku release from the pokeball as its ability Innards Out was ready to be activated. All it would take was for a poison move to be executed for this effect to be triggered.[break][break]

Someone would have to get in close to administer the antidote. In that process, Pinpin would be ready to intervene and take the onslaught of aggression with a thumbs-up.[break][break]

It used Safeguard for good measure.

[attr="class","eve"]Evangeline holds a bit of cloth to her face as she enters the garden. There's a lot of bad smells she can tolerate, but this one is exceptional. Like rotting. It bothers her more from the implication than the raw stench. Her curiosity is all that sustains her.

She knows Victreebell well, has at least a passing familiarity with most poison types, but this situation is odd to her. That's why she actually came. To see what a poisoned poison type actually looked like, and how the condition could spread so easily.

"I'm not sure if it'll help, but I have some herbs gathered by a friend of mine," she offers demurely to some of the attending medics with an anxious smile. In truth she's loathe to part with the stuff, but it would be odd to just sight see and go. At least they seem to appreciate her gesture. After a quick once over of the contents in the bag she offered they agree to give it a shot.

Avery comes bearing the gift of flowers. For whatever reason, it seems to power up the rest of the Pokemon - giving the sick Victreebel especially the extra oomph they need to recover. Where they spit up their sickness and regain their strength, the woman is quick to clean up after their messes like a mother would. She offers them spray-bottles of water to rejuvinate their leaves, whispering words of encouragement while her Cherrim continues to shine a light on the situation.[break][break]

Coincidentally, the FLOWER GIFT also seems to power up the attacks of other Pokemon assisting. At some point she isn't sure whether she's doing more harm than good. [break][break]
