The toothy grin on its face broadened even more when it felt flesh under its outstretched claw. Yes. It seemed to be… laughing, almost? As the battle went on, it would become glaringly obvious that the creature had a few screws loose. Another HEAT WAVE assaulted the steel-type again. By this time, it wouldn’t stop screaming, its metallic voice enough to make a sensitive person’s skin crawl. Its posture began to slouch, but it was the only evidence it gave to how very close it was to defeat. It would go out swinging. Just as it took a step in the direction of its opponent again, the delphox finally bowed out before them. Lulu smirked. At least her cat had won one last good fight before its retirement. She wasn’t about to try to call it back, though. She knew better. The Milotic was released and the Perrserker was not strong enough to attempt to evade its oncoming attack. Instead, it stood its ground, its growling intensifying as attack drew closer, closer… Lulu, by this time, knew she wasn’t going to win, but she was still grinning. This had become much more about Perrserker’s final moments of his last battle, and the feeling she related to him on in it. She knew what it felt like to be out for blood; for blood to be the only thing that would do. She knew anger, pain, and the sweet release of violence. “Be strong! This is yours. Take it.” She called lowly out to it, rather cryptically. In her face, she looked fully connected with it in that moment, as though it was only her and the Pokemon battling. Another loud, metallic scream and the impact threw the cat back several meters, creating a skid in the ground and pushing up dirt. It flinched a moment, not getting up. Lulu waited, expecting the battle to be called, but grumbles from the Perrserker made it clear it wasn’t done just yet. From the ground, its eyes turned black, staring at its opponent. The dark energy of another DARK PULSE swirled around it, and again across the field, attempting to consume the beautiful serpent. It would assault with the attack until it could no longer, succumbing to its injuries and exhaustion. She reached out to return the unconscious creature with a smile. “He’s never been one to give up easily, especially not since the war.” She regarded the Pokeball in her hand a moment, appreciating their similarities, perhaps for the first time. Regardless of the outcome of the event, she had learned much. “I think he needed that.” ’So did I, maybe.’
