Chu-e had been walking to the market when he came across the guy.

"Huh." Stopping beside the Zebrastrike, and perhaps a bit too close in case of fall damage honestly, he leaned his head back and squinted up at the man on the pole. Chu-e had seen a lot of weird shit in his time and... well, honestly, this wasn't too bad, but it was still not in his typical grocery run routine.

Glancing at the Zebra and giving it an overly friendly and light elbow, he pointed at the other man for a moment. "That yours?" It was a safe assumption to make. Then he took a closer look at exactly what the guy was doing and frowned. "Hey dude!" He called up, maybe a bit too loudly; other people were staring now. "That's an invasive species on this island! Don't encourage them to stick around!"

"Ah." Was all Chu-e said in the face of impending doom. It was like a car crash. Chu-e couldn't look away from leo del río's ass as it drew closer and closer to ending his life. Who knew this was how he would finally go out? Crushed to death and not even in the fun kind of way. This sucked.

One of Chu-e's pokemon, in the balls at his hip, refused this scenario. Even if Chu-e had already closed his eyes and made his peace with his fate, Puff released himself from his ball and lifted his beefy arms up, the Incineroar trying to catch the other human just before he hit.

Leo would find himself in the warm and comfortable embrace of the fire type feline before being gently sat on the ground.

"You were, until a second ago." For someone who had almost faced Death By Ass Crushing, Chu-e was much less shaken up than he really should have been. Maybe it had been the quiet acceptance right before the impact. Sure, that had to be it.

Pointing at the pole, and also the nest of adorable baby Wingull who had done nothing wrong, Chu-e raised a brow. "Invasive species. They eat all the Krabby who come to beach, which means the pokemon out in Shoal Cave go hungry. You were encouraging them, so help me deal with them." He brokers no argument, like one experienced at bossing people around. A teacher, maybe?

"Ji-Hoon Ki, by the way. Shimmy your butt back up that pole and knock that nest down." His lips twitch a bit at the corners, fighting a smile. What had leo del río gotten himself into?

Chu-e wasn't sure he expected but it certainly wasn't whatever the fuck this guy is doing. He yelps as he's lifted up, against his will, like a child on the shoulders of their father. Briefly, he tenses out of reflex and almost grabs one of his knifes, intent to sink it down into the man's tender throat. But a reflex is one he can control, push down, urge away, and instead he digs his fingers into the guy's hair. Tugs to keep his balance. He is not gentle.

"What the fuck." Chu-e's tone is bland for someone who just thought of killing someone so casually. leo del río doesn't know what he's in for with this one.

It does have the desired effect of getting Chu-e at eye level with the baby Wingull. As Leo had said, they're adorable... small little puffs of fluff who probably can't even fly yet, their down feathers too soft and airy to catch the wind. There are two of them and they coo at Chu-e, as if excited to see him, so young they don't yet know danger.

Chu-e shifts his ass and presses his weight against the man below him, squeezing his thighs tighter around his head. Then he lunges, quick, snatching the two birds out of the nest. Quick as a whip, he shoves a good portion of the nest off the top of the pole, destroying it. The Wingull cry, confused and scared, pressed against his chest.

"Now, was that so hard?" He gives another squeeze just because he can.

"To the nearest Ranger, so we can turn these little guys over to better hands." Chu-e replies, giving a scorching look down at Puff, who is openly staring at the baby birds while licking his feline chops. The fire type is so entranced he does not pay much attention to leo del río or his smile.

"Unless you think you'd make a good mama bird?" Speaking of, they needed to skedaddle if they wanted to avoid the wrath of the parents when they came back. Pelliper and Wingull may have been nuisances on Mossadeep but they were fiercely protective of their babies and nests. The fact that this one was abandoned in the first place was either very lucky or promised a sad end to the chicks if they hadn't came along.

Oh. This man is stupid.

A look mixed between pity, concern, and constipation cross Chu-e's features. It's a good thing that leo del río can't see him from where he's perched.

Soon enough they're at the Ranger Station, which Chu-e now thinks is more a miracle than anything. When he spots Raziel Beckett, his face is as flat as his tone when he answers the other. "I'm being kidnapped. Help me."

But, even Chu-e has the tact to blanch a little at Leo's question. Damn. This man is a himbo. Chu-e mouths to the other. He doesn't want to be associated with... whatever is happening. So, despite almost falling at the jostling, he thrusts his hands out, one Wingull chick in each hand. "Please take these so we can forget this happened."
