"sadge," he says after being told by angelo vestri that his trash wouldn't work as gifts.

immediately afterwards, he sees glitch maverick jump into the water with his pokemon. he starts to think for an excuse not to follow, and then a question that's actually related to their mission gets bounced off to Melody Miro.

"fine. i guess i can join." he sighs, as if forced to do so.

he takes off his shirt before two of his pokemon from their pokeballs. the smeargle remains onboard while the dragalge waits for him by the water. "you know your job, right?" he asks his smeargle, who then nods at his trainer.

as he leaves his shirt to his pokemon and started doing stretches, he turns back to angelo vestri. "are you going to join too?" he waits for a second, and then adds as soon as angelo opens his mouth. "actually, you have no choice. people will think you're just here to stare at people in their bathing suits if you don't."

Sunlight filters in from the immaculate windows that give Skyler an unimpeded view of the ocean ahead, dancing warmly across her face and shoulders. From this vantage point, she can see the figure of Melody Miro in the water, approaching the Phione with her carefree, cheerful attitude. It brings a lopsided smile to the captain's face - an attempt to disregard the cold that spreads across her chest and up her throat.

Even from this distance, she can see the glinting of something grasped in the Phione's stubby paws.

There's no thought to the way Captain Dross leans forward then, silver eyes glinting greedily, uncaring as to who might see her. She scans the Phione in an attempt to find a familiar shape among the so-called slivers of quartz they'd been contracted to find and secure. But the little water sprites prove to be too swift for the captain to get a good look, and so she cuts the yacht's engine off and drops anchor.

She'd have to get closer.

"They are no Kyogre, that's for sure." Her lips curl into an approximation of a smile, edged with something far too wild to be anything else but a baring of teeth. Yet her silver eyes are warmth as she steps out onto the deck proper. "Let's get a closer look."

Conversation is lively as Captain Dross approaches kyle lopez , quickly taking note of glitch maverick in the water, and slaps a hand over the champion's shoulder in greeting. "Hey boss."

The tail end of their conversation reaches her ears, prompting mischief to swim in her silvery gaze. After all, angelo vestri 's earlier glance hadn't gone unnoticed. She returns the slow, lazy perusal with one of her own now, an eyebrow quirking in challenge when she reaches his ocean blue eyes. "Kyle's right, you know. Better take off your shirt and join in."

Gradually things were getting noisier, livelier. Everyone seemed to be engaged in a conversation apart from her. Not that Fay didn’t mind, she wasn’t very social to begin with; she also saw no point in trying to converse with her enemies.

Her gaze drifted around the yacht, looking towards ‘Anna’ and Skyler with sight interest, Fay hadn’t been really close to hear what the two women had been discussing but found it interesting how both Glitch and Anna got along well with the league, Fay thought that everyone in the rocket hated the league. The two were good at pretending, that much was confirmed.

Things were moving a little slowly, and she knew that the plan was slightly delayed due to the actions of some individuals. With a hefty sigh she made her way over to where everyone gathered. “Hey.” She called out towards angelo vestri, pushing past others, she began to poke at him purposely trying to annoy the man.

She caught him just before he was about to dip into the crystal waters. “There’s a noise coming from over there, it’s suspicious.” She vaguely said, pointing in the direction away from them. She expected for Angelo to follow her, if he cared for the well-being of an expensive yacht. Fay didn’t care if he ignored her, she just wanted to try separate people before the plan commenced.

when everyone seemed on board with playing with the phione's he wondered if maybe they could just get through this scot free. after all what glitch was here for was one of these little dudes. what his teammates did in the meantime was up to them. so when one of the phione approached him, curious about slushie he couldn't help but feel excited that maybe they would get home without having to do all of... that... nonsense. "hey there! want to go for a ride?" he offered his arm for the little water baby, careful not to fall in as it climbed up onto slushie with him. it made noises in wonder as it sat up on top of the arctovish, patting it with its little baby flippers as if to test the ground.

"let's go for a ride okay?" glitch urged the arctovish forward slowly at first, picking up a little bit of speed once it seemed like it was alright. "wave hi to melody little phione!" he said as they passed by the gym leader and the little phione waved as well. having a good time just riding on the arctovish with glitch at the moment.

glitch is giving the phione a ride on arctovish.

An elegant form stands in his peripherals, Anna (Emma Wolfe ) having followed to linger wordlessly beside him at the bow of the ship, margarita in hand and looking very much at home on the extravagant yacht as she casts her sights over the blue yonder. Angelo briefly takes her in out of the corner of his gaze, before dragging his attention back to the pair swimming amongst the Phione, mingling with the mythical sea drifters with ease... [break][break]

Fingertips drum against the railing - restless. [break][break]

At this point it seemed a little overkill on the League’s part, recruiting seven sets of hands… Angelo hopes that, despite the easy labour, the pay packet at the end of the trip remains unamended from the promised sum. [break][break]

While watching the cousins playing in the waves with their target, Angelo considers words upon the tip of his tongue to fill the silence with Anna, only for them to be swiftly swallowed as soon as his lips dare part. Interrupted by the sudden arrival of an interesting invitation - or two. [break][break]

Unperturbed, a flash of teeth follows kyle lopez ’s comment, amusement sparkling in blue eyes like sunshine dancing on the ocean surface as he turns to face the champion. Angelo’s attention (predictably) becoming captured by the low-hanging fruit of engaging in banter with a friend. [break][break]

“Y'know, you don't need to try and blackmail me to get me in my bathing suit, Ky.” He muses with a devilish smile, sights sliding from Kyle to skyler dross as she joins them, her slowly wandering gaze not passing his notice by. [break][break]

“If it means that much to you, I’ll bite. Let's go.” [break][break]

Shrugging off his jacket, Angelo pointedly tosses it in the captain’s direction, accepting the challenge in silver eyes with flirtatious insolence.[break][break]

But calloused fingertips barely have the chance to lift the bottom of his t-shirt beyond a teasing peek for those in attendance, when a sudden swish of black hair pushes into the small group; blocking their view as she pokes small, sharp fingers into his side without mercy. @fay demanding his attention.[break][break]

“Okay. Hey. I see you, kiddo. What’s up?” [break][break]

Angelo lets go of his shirt, sliver of tanned skin disappearing behind the material as his attention becomes snagged by the concern that she imparts. “What d’you mean by ‘suspicious noise’?” His expression pinches briefly into a frown, blue eyes turning cool and steady as his gaze follows after her pointed finger towards the opposite end of the boat. [break][break]

Suspicious noise could mean a great many things… [break][break]

“Tell you what, I'll come with you to check it out.” A puzzled exchange is soon followed by an entirely too smug expression that flashes across his lips, pointedly aimed at the ship captain that the teenager had just completely passed over in favour of him. “Unless the captain is done trying to coerce the crew out of their clothes?”

Emma observes the series of events as if they act in slow motion. Her expression is severe, guarded, calculating. The group is so carefree, eager to kick back and relax. There is banter regarding the removal of ones clothing, and she watches with bated breath as kyle lopez moves off to join the two already in the water. [break][break]

The plan hasn't changed, and yet the circumstances have.[break][break]

Like a slow-beating heart, she can feel the tick of the miniature explosive. It was hardly big enough to cause a big commotion, just enough to slow the boat down and cause panic. But she could feel dread trickle down the back of her neck like a cold sweat. She could handle a change in plans, she had even anticipated it.[break][break]

But the more people sink into the water, the more it begins to stir. While some of the Phione seem relaxed enough to play with the crew, she can feel the threat weighing them down. skyler dross pushes the anchor off to keep them steady, and that is when the danger hits.[break][break]

It just so happens that it happens at the flash of skin that angelo vestri spares the group as well. Emma's sharp eyes lock onto the @fay as she prompts the man to instead follow her. It draws her attention up to the sky, and her warning is genuine.[break][break]

"We have company!"[break][break]

Among the dark curtain of wings is her own Noivern - if she could even call upon claiming it. The beast had been a vital piece to her puzzle, but unpredictable. And apparently, she had brought friends. [break][break]

There is a hunger in the eyes of the wild Noivern and Noibat, however. Water bubbles up from the surface as well, wild oceanic Pokemon frothing at the mouth. The draw of the quartz is great, it seems. It had attracted the likes of the baby Phione, and it had now drawn in even more. [break][break]

Several Noivern begin attacking the ship, supersonics blast the sensitive ears of the humans on board. Randomly dispersed boombursts blast at the hull, literally rocking the boat. And before they have a chance to properly react, a button hidden on Emma's person is pressed and it all goes up in flames.[break][break]

In the confusion, the boards split - an unexpected casualty given the minor explosion meant to sink the boat slowly - as her Pokemon's purposeful attacks meet sensitive pieces of the boats infrastructure. It ignites the explosion tenfold and she, too, is caught in the crossfire.[break][break]

But before it could do any serious harm, wings fold around her and she is slammed to the ground. More Noivern converge, buffeting anyone still on deck that were out in the open. The Phione sink below the surface in the attempt to escape, but injury is nearly inevitable. [break][break]

And beneath the surface, Araquanid waits, eyes set on the pink-haired woman, waiting for the moment to separate her from the rest.[break][break]

But not yet.[break][break]

swarm of noivern/noibat have attacked the yacht in pursuit of the quartz/protecting their home on a nearby island. they have been drawn to the stone similar to the phione[break]
the boat has exploded as a result of a bomb emma hid on board, detonated by herself at the same time the pokemon attack the boat[break]
there are other aquatic pokemon in the water rattled/aggressive/drawn in by the quartz for other ppl to roleplay if they'd like![break]

Captain Dross catches angelo vestri 's jacket in her grasp when he throws it her way. For the first few seconds the denim covers the flickers of heat in mercury bright eyes, peeking out from under dark lashes. The sharp curl of her lips exposing the kind of mischief that dares the courier to make good on his word.

While her focus doesn't drift away from ocean blues, the sliver of tanned skin curls her lips further, teeth peeking out devilishly. "C'mon Angel. Don't tell me you're feeling shy."

When a dark-haired youth (@fay ) bypasses her to poke at Angelo, the captain's attention is diverted. But it's only at Fay's alarming words that silver eyes sharpen with focus, growing steely as the previous warmth is all but leeched from their depths. "What do you mean, a suspicious noise?" The courier's taunting is swiftly discarded, though a promise flashes from behind her expression when she peers up at him. Something to do with stripping and later.

"Show me," she directs at the younger girl, all business.

They aren't given a chance to check out the supposedly suspicious noise. Anna's warning brings the captain's gaze to the sky where it lands on a cloud of aggressive Noivern and Noibat, their screeches piercing through the air with malicious intent. "Fuck." The curse is heartfelt as it leaves the captain's lips, and she wastes no time before hastily jumping back to the helm of the yacht.

A sharp whistle garners the attention of a nearby Lapras, its elegant neck stretching to watch the approaching pokemon before a beam of ice smashes into one of the Noivern, freezing its wing and sending it careening into the waters below. The flock, however, doesn't seem daunted by this, advancing like the tide until Skyler's forced to dodge Boombursts that crack the pristine hull of Melody Miro 's yacht.

The groan of bending material reaches her ears past all the chaos. And although adrenaline sings through her veins, sharpening her senses, nothing could have prepared her for the sudden explosion that rocks through the boat. Caught unaware, Skyler is sent flying backwards by the resulting shockwave, along with deadly looking shrapnel. Pain wracks her spine when her back slams into the railing, yet even that proves to be insufficient to stop her momentum.

The ringing in her ears is abruptly silenced by the ocean water that welcomes her in its cold embrace.

Seemed that her pestering had worked as angelo vestri agreed to follow. She nodded as she began to lead him away only to pause when the captain of the ship also asked about it. Fay didn’t really care if skyler dross also wanted to follow her; she figured that the more people she seperated the easier it would be for Emma Wolfe to be successful in the assassination. She shrugged at the question, “I don’t-” Her words were cut off as loud screeching filled the air. Looking up she was surprised to see that a swarm of noibat and noivern had begun their attack on the ship. There was an immediate reaction from Fay as she tossed down her pokeball, her ninetails prim emerging from it. “Burn them all, Burning jealousy.” Upon the command Prim released a wide scale of burning flames, the attack setting the ship itself on flames.

The attack seemed to work on some of the attacking pokemon, as they scattered upon seeing the fearsome flames; though it did little to stop their merciless attack. However the barrage of supersonics was too difficult to endure for long. Fay stumbled as she lost her sense of hearing, when the boards broke from the explosion she took a bad fall; slamming her head against the metal railing as she began to tumble towards near where skyler dross fell overboard.

Just as she was about to be thrown off board, she ended up being saved when Prim used psychic powers to slow down her fall. She stood back up, steadying herself by grabbing a nearby railing. Blood dripped from her forehead, slightly obscuring her vision as it dripped into her eye. She saw that Emma Wolfe was in a pinch, “will-o-wisp” she commanded, pointing at the noivern which had been pinning down the admin.

everything seemed to be fine: skyler dross and her friend Emma Wolfe finally got off of the helm, Melody Miro and glitch maverick were enjoying themselves in the water, angelo vestri going on a tour on the boat with @fay...

the rest just happened all of a sudden.

the smeargle immediately jumps to where his trainer was, forcing both of them into a portal from shadow force when the noiverns attacked. for the most part, it's preemptive instruction was done the moment it was given out.

his dragalge remains by the waters, diving underwater as it frantically tries to find its trainer, unaware of what kyle's smeargle did from its point of view.

Previous thoughts of ease die a swift death, turned ashen by the warning call that punctuates past Anna’s lips and crumbling to the wind from the shrill battle cries that follow her gesture to the skies above. The source a thick, dark cloud made up of familiar leathery wings and aggressive screeches. [break][break]

A flock of Noivern rolling across the expanse of blue like an oncoming storm.[break][break]

“Take cover! Now!” Angelo’s voice barks out in warning, although hardened blue eyes land primarily upon @fay . The brittle change in their situation pulling forward a steady, authoritative edge to the tone of his voice as he gestures for her to get back. Even if she’s already reaching for a pokeball, preparing to battle… [break][break]

As skyler dross barrels off towards the helm – Angelo’s gaze sparing her retreating back a quick glance – he instead turns towards the railings. Calloused hands smack against the sun-warmed steel, catching himself, as an impact against the side of the boat sends him lurching forward. [break][break]

Muscles tensing, blue eyes land on Melody Miro and glitch maverick still in the water, Angelo’s lips parting to call out a warning as a chill seeps into his blood. Out there in full view on the open ocean, as the dark forms above cast shadows upon the water’s surface and inky shapes being to lurk in the depths, they remind him of sitting Duckletts. [break][break]

“Melody! Glitch! Get o- Fuck!” [break][break]

Only a few words manage to rip out of Angelo’s throat before a particularly large explosion tosses his body forward, knuckles paling as he stabilises himself from being thrown overboard, although his sternum crushes against the railing – knocking the breath out of him. [break][break]

“Ankaa,” comes his Togekiss’s name, snarled out of tight lungs as the courier grips onto the metal barrier along the perimeter of the ship, gaze like chips of ice as a Noivern primes itself to swoop onto the deck. In a burst of light his white bird emerges, shooting up into the air to cut it off with an illuminating flash of DAZZLING GLEAM. [break][break]

Screeching, the blinded dragon careens off course, clipping against the side of the yacht and disappearing into the depths with a thunderous splash. [break][break]

There’s barely a chance for Angelo to catch his breath, his chest pounding with adrenaline as his gaze scans across the skies - looking in all the wrong places, he'll soon learn - when the deck becomes suddenly engulfed in an eruption of flames. The yacht exploding in a display of fire, splintering wood and flying bodies. [break][break]

Angelo is not exempt. Pressure collides into him with ear-ringing intensity, shards of something hot and sharp slicing against his skin as the force of the blast throws him overboard and into the sea's waiting depths. Dark spots, twisting and blinking in his vision like familiar bat wings, blurs the corner of his eyes as he becomes swallowed in cool waters – dazed.

of course things couldn't stay peaceful today. they never really did when it came to missions like this. everything began to happen all of a sudden and all at once as the noivern and noibat began to swarm. he'd known something like that was coming but he still wasn't expecting it as it happened. he watches it begin to unfold as everyone begins to react. he likes chaos as much as the next person but this seems like so much. too much almost. but that doesn't matter right now as he clutches the phione closer to his chest. watching as one of the noivern pluck one of the stunned ones from the water and rip it apart, a gel like blood oozing back into the water as if it was just some sort of jelly. it was disgusting and really he was glad that slushie's shield like head blocked it from view from the little one trembling in his arms.

"it'll be alright? okay? just stay with me and you'll be just fine." he was about to order slushie to attack, to do something. when he saw angelo vestri slipping into the water. without thinking he urged slushie forward. "dive, go." holding his breath they dove into the ice cold water after him. sure he was a member of the league or whatever but it would look suspicious if no one tried to save him. plus it would be good cover if he did try and save him after all of this went down. so he had slushie tuck underneath kyle and scoop the man up behind his shield like head so they could resurface. this had better be good karma for a very fucking long time.

Melody was having a great time so far! Emphasis on was, in the blink of an eye things immediately went to shit. The games with the phione were cut short when an explosion seemed to rock the waters all around them. "Primarina!" she called to her pokemon as it furrowed it's brows and submerged itself into the water as it immediately went into action. Primarina was sent towards the explosion to help put out the fire. Melody spotted angelo going under and witnessed glitch going after angelo. Ok! That was handled, now time to get these phione's out of here. [break][break]
Melody sent out her lapras and began to talk to the phione "Ok let's make sure you guys are ok, hang on tight to that quartz ok?" Of the phione's around her, she was however not quick enough in save one of the phione's from a noivern and watched as it was ripped to shreds in front of her. "NO!" she shouted "Lapras! FREEZE DRY!" she ordered as a ball of blue energy was charged and then fired at the noivern who attacked that phione. She grew frustrated at her own incompetence to defend it before it died, not again. "Lapras defend the phione's that are remaining on your back." she commanded as lapras nodded it's head understanding it's task. "Go, move them away from here, when it looks safe come help primarina ok?" she said as it lowered it's head as melody gestured with her hand and gave it a kiss on the head before pushing it off towards the dircetion of some rocks.

Melody was all alone now in the water looking around to see how she could possibly help. Little did she know of the dangers of the Pokémon who was waiting for such a thing. Suddenly, to anyone watching melody would suddenly sink rapidly underneath the water. She had no idea what was going on yet as she looked down and saw an araquanid dragging her under. She tried to kick it in the head to get it to release her but it's water bubble was doing a good job of shielding the blows.

Melody is rattled by the explosion and sends her primarina to go put out whatever fires it could put out with sparkling aria. [break][break]

Melody has moved whichever phione are still alive and the quartz as well onto her lapras and sent them away from the battle with lapras who is guarding them. (upset she couldn't save one of them and took note of the one still with glitch as they went to save Angelo) [break][break]

Melody is then dragged underwater by the araquanid as she frantically tries to kick it in the head to release her but it's not working due to it's water bubble protecting it's head. [break][break]

Pain lances down the length of her arm as she is slammed to the deck. She's been pinned between sharp claws and something protruding from beneath her and an unfortunate turn of events has led to an injury to her shoulder. She gasps, the wind knocked from her. Through the brief window between the Noivern's wings, she sees @fay and her Ninetales still on the boat. It takes her a moment to focus, for the shapes to stop swimming in front of her.[break][break]

She is too late to stop Fay from collapsing upon the Noivern holding her to the ground - and in the process, the Noivern's claws slice clean against the woman's already damaged shoulder. But she can't fault the girl, not in the midst of this confusion. The will-o-wisps find their mark and the Noivern screams. But stubbornness and desperation to keep the admin safe push past all flight instincts.[break][break]

Noivern grabs hold of Emma and they dive into the water together. [break][break]

And now, part two begins. Emma gasps as the cold water jolts her into action, her legs kicking to keep her afloat. Her arm is tender, bleeding into the water, and Noivern has disappeared to rejoin the flock of crazy wild Pokemon swooping in and out of view. [break][break]

It seems that she has landed in the water near enough to her target, and just in time to witness the girl be tugged below the surface. She dives after her, and to anyone observing it would look like she was trying to help. The struggle below the surface would be genuine, two women fighting to fend off an Araquanid trying to drown them both. [break][break]

The truth was, Emma was doing absolutely nothing to prevent Melody Miro's death. In fact, she was only aiding it while putting herself at risk.[break][break]

Araquanid sets up a reflective barrier similar to a mirror. It acts similar to the magic trick in which it reflects an empty box. The water spider is attempting to mask the assassination attempt to anyone not looking hard enough or couldn't see through the sinking debris.[break][break]

Emma can feel her heartbeat slow as anticipation and duty overtakes her. Araquanid lunges, grappling them both to make things more intense, to make it look real. Both women are drowning, but Emma has crept up on the woman with the pink hair and the good intentions. [break][break]

Good girls do not do it well, it seems. Emma wastes no time putting her hands around the girl's neck and shoulders. Despite the water slowing her movements, Emma is calculated. This isn't her first underwater kill, and it likely won't be her last. Her grip tightens and she ignores the struggle. All it takes is one sudden, perfected twist and she can feel the bones in Melody's neck snap. Down here, the noise is muted, but the result is the same. She beats back the Araquanid and it retreats to wait to reconvene with Emma later.[break][break]

And Emma feigns ignorance and panic as she attempts to drag Melody's now lifeless body to the surface as if she hadn't just killed her herself. [break][break]

notes: emma's noivern is hurt by will-o-wisp but manages to drag emma off the boat and into the water. she suffers an injury to her shoulder and wounds inflicted by the noiverns claws.[break]

araquanid retreats and emma is attempting to rescue melody/bring her to the surface please help her

Warmth was the only thing melody felt right now. The fire warmed the waters around her, the heat of battle above the waters, the adrenaline warming her body as her amygdala sent out wave after wave of panic triggering her fight or flight response. Typically melody would have chosen flight but she was grounded or rather, submerged and forced to be kept there. It seemed like Emma was also dragged underneath as well! Hell yeah a two on one CURB STOMP THIS-. melody looked at the woman with a tearful yet hopefull expression hoping she'd have more luck with the creature. However Melody's expression soon turned to one of horror, shock, and confusion. Her savior was actually her killer. She felt Emma Wolfe grab her, the coldness of the stranger's body contrasting her own heat and began to try and force her neck to move in an unnatural way. Melody tried to fight back but it was futile as that woman's strength was far beyond her own, melody's muscles were meant for movement, not force. As time went on that coldness of emma's body began to spread to melody's it started at her shoulders and slowly spread. [break][break]

In an instant, Melody felt nothing at all. All the sound from the explosions were gone, the taste of the salt water was gone, the beautiful blue ocean she had come to know and love was then gone, replaced with nothing but a void of darkness and that eerie coldness she felt in her final moments.

Above the chaotic swirl of destruction, stressed chirps could faintly be heard as a Togekiss sweeps over the wreckage. Ankaa avoiding an onslaught of claws that try to drag her into the depths as she desperately calls for her human companion, searching for him after being separated in the explosion.[break][break]

Out at sea in the opposite direction, her trainer takes a greedy gasp of air, breaking through the surface as an Arctovish’s cold scales aid in pushing him topside. glitch maverick having dived underwater with his pokemon to help him swim back up to the surface, when the explosion had disorientated the courier’s senses.

Gasping, dark spots in his eyes fade as adrenaline rapidly spreads through his veins, clarity sharpening as the breeze slams into him in a shocking mixture of cool salt and burning ash. Gripping to the fossil pokemon, Angelo’s gaze instantly snaps towards the wreckage, his lungs squeezing tight – harder than even being oxygen deprived – as tempestuous blue eyes search for something. For someone he couldn't see. skyler dross .[break][break]

“Where… Where’s S–” Are his first and last words, muscles tensing as he readies himself to swim back, before something collides into them; smothering his voice as he's submerged in the sea depths once more.[break][break]

Attracted to the quartz scent that lingers on the Phione glitch maverick has in hand, the fenzied Sharpedo descend in gnashing teeth and cloaks of water, lunging towards the Arctovish in a swarm of crunch and liquidation. Attempting to claim something in their menacing jaws that isn’t even there… [break][break]

Angelo grimaces as searing pain shoots up his arm, teeth clenching down hard as he forces himself to hold onto his precious breath, even when blood begins to stain the water around him. A Sharpedo having sunk its fangs into his flesh as it knocks him aside with its charging liquidation. It's attack sending Angelo spinning further out into the deep, swept away from the wreck and those he wishes to find. Left to the disturbed ocean's mercy as the enraged pokemon kick up a violent undercurrent. [break][break]

Tumbling through the never-ending blue as his muscles turn useless in the ocean’s superior weight, Angelo feels his heart thundering furiously against his ribcage, instincts screaming at him to swim. Ordering him to get to the surface for another desperate gulp of air before he’s trapped under wave after wave. [break][break]

Lungs burning, skin on fire from the bleeding lacerations, he fights against the current until his aching muscles manage to right himself. [break][break]

Angelo breaks through the water with strained, hungry gasps, automatically feeding his lungs with salt air. But everything is numb when he starts to swim towards the women in the water, not registering the pains in his body or the sinking feeling in his chest as he approaches Anna (Emma Wolfe), who frantically screams. A Gyarados is released, Volans diving into the deep after the retreating Araquanid with ICE FANG glistening around a fanged maw, hunting down the attacker. [break][break]

Angelo’s not sure what he saw. But something sits like a weight in his chest – cold and hollow at the same time – as blue eyes lift from the Gym Leader's still form to pierce into burning amber. [break][break]

“Give her to me.” He says, hand reaching out to grip around Melody's body, to take her from Anna as she struggles to swim in her panic. Voice flat. Unwavering. Cold. “She needs CPR. That way... There's an island. Let's get her there.”
