A lot of the noise around her was just distorted at the moment. She was in full on panic attack mode, the only thing she's familiar with at the moment was Kyle's face. They seemed to be arriving somewhere, VERY FAST. A inky portal appeared away from the group on a series of small rock islands. The two of them crashed onto it, kyle taking the brunt of it as melody fell on top of him. She quickly scurried off of him as she was still hyperventilating. She had heard names she was familiar with at the moment but she could only really make out that glitch was ok. She nodded simply as she took her pokeballs off her belt and let her smeargle out. "Smeargle, go with kyle and and help him out with whatever he says." she said handing him her other pokeballs. "Im in no shape mentally to fight right now. Please..just leave me here for now, I'll try to rejoin you. Bring the phione's here with your smeargle if you need to I'll try to keep them safe." as she threw out her pokeball with her hypno to protect her in the fight

The wave of electricity flickered before her eyes. In a flash, the thunderwave barreled onto her and ivory. Metallic wings stiffened as the bolts of electricity paralzyed the giant steel bird. “Fuck” Was the only word she could conjure up, clutching to her skarmory as the two plummeted towards the ocean.

Water would spray wildly as a result from the crash. Fay was dazed from the brute impact but was relatively unharmed due to her skarmory taking most of the impact of the attack. Using nearby floating debris to support herself, she would recall back her paralyzed bird and summon her thievul, rose.

The fox pokemon would appear on the rocks near skyler, a cold glare directed at the blonde captain. “Did you think I’ll let you get away so easily?” She yelled, directing the question towards her. Irritated how Skyler took Ivory out of commission she ordered Rose to attack the woman, figuring that her pokemon will come to her aid. “Quick Attack!” She commanded, prompting the thievul to rush at skyler dross

he takes out his phone and uses its pokedex app to scan the contents of the pokeballs entrusted to him by the gym leader. he chooses two out of the five as it's all he needs for the task at hand.

kyle gives half the pokeballs melody has entrusted to him back to melody. internal bias wins over logic this time as he keeps the only canine pokemon in her party with him, though he figured the water-type gym leader should have at least one pokemon to help him ferry the waters with his dragalge out there.

"wild pokemon are running amok. at least keep these for safety," he tells her before turning around, letting go of the phione he's been holding the entire time, and releasing a pokeball.

a primarina appears and lands on the water. kyle hops on its back and points at a direction away from the island that they're at that's way off from where everything is happening. "we're going back to the phiones," he tells it while he checks his pokedex for the moves.

kyle turns to melody's smeargle, shooting a look of pity at it. "i'm sorry your moves are shit," he tells it. he asks why would she bring a smeargle with only one move in a mission.

tl;dr:

only takes two of melody's pokemon
leaves a phione in the island
uses primarina as a jet ski to return to his dragalge
judges melody's smeargle

When she'd left Eelektross to deal with the dark-haired teen and the metallic bird, Skyler had been expecting a relatively uneventful, unimpeded passage towards the pull that tugs at her chest. Its steady thrum steals her attention from everything else in the vicinity, rendering the surf which sprays over her face and the distant roar of crashing waves into nothing but background static.

@fay 's enraged words go unheard. The sudden appearance of a Thievul is ignored.

Captain Dross' heart isn't in this conflict despite the fierce set of her face, the determination which burns in molten silvers to the detriment of everything that dares stand in her way. And while the captain is amicable on the best of days, something of a darker nature pulls her forward with near-deadly intent.

The collision comes unexpectedly, expelling the air from within her lungs with sudden fierceness. The captain's eyes widen at the starburst of pain that spreads from her ribcage - a broken rib?

Skyler's balance gives out immediately, the soles of her boots ineffective against the slick surface of the rock she'd been standing on. There is only a stolen moment in which she inhales sharply, spots dancing before her eyes - and then the coldness of the ocean meets her falling body with a silent splash.

There were numerous sailor tales about Eelektross dragging unaware fishermen out of their boats and down to the depths, hungry maws ready to devour. Tross does these tales justice as he breaks through the surface of the ocean close to where Skyler had been not a moment before - and where now stands a small Thievul.

Clawed limbs would then sink into the fox pokemon with silent fury in an attempt to drag it under. If successful, a vicious CRUNCH would soon follow.

Despite her lungs' protest at the lack of oxygen, Skyler doesn't break through the surface.

Not when an invisible force pulls her forward, guided by the steady thrum resting against her chest. Not when a glint of blue meets her eyes, sparking a visceral recognition.

A blue fragment.

And even though agony jolts through her body with each movement, even though her vision grows hazy and unfocused, Skyler's scarred fingers reach out in an impossible, desperate bid to bring it closer. To her.

To where it belongs.

The captain only allows darkness to take over when the fragment rests within her greedy palms.

tl;dr:
- PROMPT: 🌋 skyler dross will discover another fragment of the BLUE ORB— which the Phione have been playing with too.
- skyler has tunnel vision whoops
- thievul's attack is successful! probably cracks one (two?) of skyler's ribs and makes her fall into the ocean
- eelektross comes to the rescue! too late, but still. attempts to drag thievul into the ocean too (hah, revenge!) and ~~lovingly~~ nibbles on it
- skyler is going to get her hands on that shiny blue stone even if it kills her

Melody's smeargle releases a single tear and a thumbs up. It nods as he knew he only knew one move but placed his face in the champion to teach him some new stuff. Melody nodded as Kyle had given a better idea. "kyle..whatever you did, thank you." She said as some tears filled up her eyes a bit as she tried her best to hide it by wiping it away. She whistled to call primarina as kyle rode off on her and then let her Hypno out of her pokeball. For some reason something in her mind screamed at her to stop, all she could recall was to let her hypno out when she was upset. She let it out and...huh? What's going on? OH SHIT- [break][break]

Melody snapped out of it for a moment and began to order her hypno around. "Hypno we need to get rid of these Pokémon rampaging around here!" she shouted, no one else was around and Kyle had her Primarina with him, so she was sure he'd be fine! "Hypno get rid of some of these noivern that tailed us here! Psychic!"

Angelo doesn’t hesitate at Anna’s (Emma Wolfe ) retreating backstep, showing no signs that he has any intention on bending to soothe her potential discomfort. Tunnel vision having claimed his senses in a desire for answers, letting the surge of a hungry blackhole in his chest eat away the feeling of chilled bones and the burning punctures in his skin. [break][break]

His pain is irrelevant. As are her shivers. Easily dismissed when Melody lays forever cold. [break][break]

“When I was down there, I saw an Araquanid dragging her under.” Angelo takes another step, his voice roughened through a tight windpipe yet refusing to waver, pushing forward like an unrelenting winter breeze that cuts down to the core. “And I saw you-” [break][break]

What exactly he had seen Anna do is never confirmed, the courier’s confession overpowered by the glutaral, frenzied screech that rips from a dragon’s throat; ripping the breath out of his own with the force of an airborne collision. Razor sharp talons hooking and pushing mercilessly into the tanned flesh of his shoulder, sending Angelo sprawling into the sand. [break][break]

Jaw clenched, Angelo instantly reaches for his Dragapult's capsule but the only thing he summons is an agonising noise as teeth snap around his arm like a steel trap. Burning claws dragging deeper down across his chest, as if punishing him for daring to try and call for reinforcements. [break][break]

Beneath him, gold becomes stained with a splattering of red. [break][break]

And yet, as pain explodes across every nerve, his mind is instead consumed by the sensation of Noivern's oppressive weight pushing down onto his body, shoving him deeper against the sand and into the jaws of a familiar nightmare.[break][break]

But despite his blood running cold, lungs involuntarily squeezing tight in a strangled inhale, he doesn't freeze over in his fear. Thoughts drain from his mind, instead replaced with a command to fight, snarled primal and wild in unison with a heartbeat that threatens to punch through his ribcage. [break][break]

Instinctively, Angelo's legs strike and his free arm fumbles outwards, grimacing as fingertips blindly scrape against the roughened shape of a large, loose stone. [break][break]

“Get the fuck off!” With a flash of blue eyes and teeth bared feral, Angelo squeezes the rock painfully tight and bludgeons the improvised weapon towards the gargoyle's face. Attempting to force it's teeth off his forearm with a remorseless smash. [break][break]

[break][break]

In the distance, unbeknownst to the courier in the midst of his struggle, something gains speed with a rumbling hum. It’s form nothing but a streamlined, occasional blink of milky white and crimson as it skirts along the water’s edge, obscured by the burst of sea spray it kicks up in its rapid advance. [break][break]

Whatever it is, it’s heading right for the island engulfed by the scent of blood and chilling screeches, ignoring debris and everything or anyone else in its path. Flying past it all, honing in like a missile. [break][break]

And where Angelo’s vision had become stolen by the darkness of leathery wings and piercing yellow eyes, suddenly his world turns a brilliant white, an explosion of light (MIST BALL) descending towards his attacker. Covering the island in a rolling sheet of mist, sand and glassy feathers as the pressure of the attack furls ouwards like a wave.[break][break]

When blue eyes flutter open next, cloud slowly clearing off the beaches, Angelo finds that the weight atop him is gone… Slowly, he staggers onto a knee and even though his vision swims with the searing pain of each rip gouged into his flesh, the focus on the creature that floats just ahead is resolute. Laboured breath stilling. Rendered near speechless… [break][break]

Because what else do you say, other than a murmured ‘merda…’, when you’re suddenly in the presence of a figure within cherished stories and legends embedded into your very soul. [break][break]

Only this Latias is tangible. No longer simply a whispered tale that intertwines within the warm breeze above the Alto Marian canals. Real. Here, in front of him. [break][break]

A high-pitched battle cry emerges from the Latias - a last warning - as she floats in-between the one who's drawn her displeasure and the injured man who's pulled her attention.[break][break]

Her message to Noivern clear: If it won't leave Angelo alone at her behest, then she'll make it.[break][break]

leaving the phione in melody's little beach had caused the others to reconvene with it. their apparent nature to school becomes much more evident with the third incident of it happening before him.

as they pass by kyle, he notices the object of their mission still within the grasps on one of them. he leans closer to the water, a hand scooping up one of the phiones as they ignore his presence entirely due to distress and mindfully holds it in his arms. it struggles to break free to reunite with its brethren, making it a priority to a point of ignoring the quartz on its hold.

kyle plucks it out of its claim before letting go of it. the phione doesn't look back as soon as it jumps to the water, reuniting with the rest as it swims to the direction of the phione he brought back to life that he left with the sootopolis gym leader.

his lucario eventually guides kyle's dragalge back to them. the trainer greets both with a pat on the head as he finally shifts mounts to his own pokemon, finding the primarina less comfortable to ride on.

aside from the noivern, the new pokemon to take place in the skies takes his attention. he motions for his dragalge to halt, watching it in awe, uttering a single command for his smeargle with a move unregistered in his database.

"...sketch."

tl;dr:

school of phione try to reunite with the phione kyle left with melody
kyle does a driveby and scoops the phione with the quartz to take it
kyle sets the phione free and reunites with his pokemon
kyle notices the latias from afar and tells his smeargle to sketch

She hears the splash as the captain falls into the ocean, the outcome is enough to satisfy her temper. As skyler dross wasn’t resurfacing, Fay wasn’t interested in staying any longer. She whistles to have Rose come back, her thievul had a hard time breaking free from electross’s firm grip. Releasing a cry of pain before she uses the move ‘lash-out’ to escape just in the nick of time as the electross dives back into the waters.

She sends Rose back into a pokeball, and releases her skarmory once more. “Are you able to fly?” She questions, the paralysis left by Skyler still in effect as her skarmory shakes her head in response to her trainer's inquiry. A huff of annoyance escaped her lips, all she could do was wait for the status to wear off. Soon as it does, she’ll be kissing this place goodbye.

+ TL;DR - Fay is happy that Skyler falls into the ocean

Primarina didn't understand why melody was left behind, but understood that Smeargle was lending it's help to the trainer currently on her back. Prim swam as fast as she could to return Kyle back to where they were before as Melody's Pokémon saw a peculiar sight. It was a Pokémon, but from the way the people around them reacted it was a Pokémon they hadn't recognized and it was using a strange move. The other smeargle that was present began to sketch so melody's smeargle looked over at kyle and began to sketch as well before giving a thumbs up to the man afterwards for fulfilling his promise to smeargle. [break][break]

Primarina's attention moved elsewhere, a thunk hit the water nearby and Prima saw a person go under. She dunked under the water, leaving Smeargle behind and began to look for the human who was under the water for far far too long. She's immediately made her way towards the human who seemed to be gripping something tightly. Regardless primarina grabs the trainer and hugs her tightly as she swims up extremely fast to try and get her out of the water. The two resurface quickly and primrina starts to slap skyler dross 's back to try and get any water out of the woman's lung.

The ocean had claimed her the day she'd first set her eyes upon it; every time the captain set sail she laid her life before its merciless whims with remorseless bravado. One day, she knew, it would claim her life along with her heart. But that day hadn't come. Not yet.

By the time Primarina got to Skyler, consciousness had all but slipped away from the ship captain, blonde curls floating lifelessly in the ocean currents. There was no resistance as soft fins wrapped themselves around her body and swam her to the surface.

Contrary to what the well-intended Primarina might've thought, her life-saving slaps weren't the best way to deal with half-drowned people. It was hard to argue with the results, however, when a gasp broke out of Skyler's mouth along with a fair bit of ocean water.

Silver eyes widened, the harsh impact of heavy fins against her broken (bruised?) rib prompting a gurgled cry of agony from salt stained lips.

"F-fuck." Other words failed to materialize, swallowed instead by the sharp stabs of white-hot pain spreading from her side. The movement to reach for Lapras' pokeball was instinctual, most of her thoughts being encased in a maelstrom of burning nerve endings.

Skyler dragged herself up Lapras' shell, breathing heavily past her raw, aching windpipe. Making sure both of the fragments were still with her, she patted her Lapras' neck. "Protect us." She wasn't sure exactly how many enemies they would be facing still - scattered like they'd become.

"...Thanks," she raggedly whispered to the Primarina. It had saved her despite its unorthodox methods.

Heeding her trainer's command, ice crackled to life around them, taking the shape of floating musical notes. Laying on her back between the shell spikes of what was now a Mega Lapras, the captain forced her thoughts - as well as her vision - to focus on what appeared to be the nearest point of conflict.

Wait, was that - a Latias?

Her mind flashed to a tale being spilled from cold lips like a cherished memory, to a small orb gently cradled in calloused hands, to ocean blue eyes that held as many constellations as they did secrets - pouring them out to her. For her.

"... Angel?"

Later, she would attribute the shakiness of her voice to her near drowning.

tl;dr:
- PROMPT: At least 1 Pokemon must mega evolve.
- drowning? hell no.
- TY primarina for saving skyler's life and also slapping her. 10/10 rescue. would ~~not~~ do it again
- releases lapras and drags herself up her back
- Lapras mega evolves to protect her trainer just in casies

kyle gets out of his trance as soon as he hears his smeargle finish up the move. bile rises up from his stomach as he anticipates some kind of bad news from the legendary pokemon's appearance.

he looks at the pokemon with him. the primarina's gone for now, but he'll make do with his own pokemon. worst case scenario, the primarina can probably go back home and not get lost.

"matthew, dragalge, let's go back."

the dragon-type makes its way back to angelo vestri and emma stone were. the appearance of the latias agitates the wild pokemon more, going wild with seeing on of their own get struck down. the way they fly overhead starts to get ominious, and kyle quickly moves in to remedy the situation.

"deluge."

the lucario starts to bundle up aura in a large orb on its paws. its size gets larger than a regular aura sphere, forcing the lucario to raise his arms up so it can charge up to its regular size.

like a water balloon popping, the aura spills forth throughout the waters of sootopolis. it moves like a tidal wave despite its form as aura, washing everything all across the sea before rebounding back to the sky and affecting the wild noiverns alongside agitated sea pokemon.

tl;dr:

kyle kills all noiverns and sharpedos with his z-move idk
goes to where angelo and emma are

he felt sick, he felt angry, and he felt desperate. a combo of things that were absolutely out of line most of the time for him. of course he would never pretend to be good at controlling himself. but he also knew that he wasn't going to be able to here. not when there was a sense of desperation now to find out what had happened to his cousin and where she had been taken. she wanted to shake kyle lopez and yell at him. asking him where she went. but he couldn't. but slushie seemed a little bit smarter than it's trainer and instead of engaging using an aurora veil to shield them from anything incoming. instead of caring glitch curled up beneath the head of his pokemon, glad for once that he was smaller than everyone else.

- confused and upset
- is not engaging in combat with league unless he absolutely has to to keep his cover, do not expect him to engage in pvp combat

with the immediate danger gone, kyle is reluctant on doing anything with the latias. he notices its attachment with angelo vestri and quickly connects the idea with the trend of legendary pokemon choosing an avatar. even if that wasn't the case for this, he still thinks that the situation is in his friend's favor.

it still leaves him with the only other person he personally knows in the boat.

the lucario quickly locates her with his aura, having his ability to manipulate it magnified by the previous use of his z-move. it tugs kyle and then points to the direction, catching the attention of his dragalge as well. kyle gives his pokemon a signal to go and quickly moves towards her.

"heal pulse."

the lucario points his palms at the captain on the primarina that left him and releases an aura that alleviates pain. kyle manages to find skyler dross quick without the wild pokemon interfering, though he's still uncertain as to how she ended up like this.

"sky, we're reuniting with the others. you good?" he asks.

tl;dr:

sees latias with angelo. leaves him be.
kyle prioritizes looking for skyler over the angelo/anna situation
lucario uses heal pulse on skyler
