A cop? great, now Jacob had to be on his best behavior now huh? Fucking great. Jacob took his cigarette and dropped it on the floor, stepping on it to put it out while Jasper wasn't looking. Jacob only offered a small bit of advice to the man "Just dont get in our way and you'll be fine. League wants us to find some shit @chloe knows more about what we're supposed to do." he adds as he wasn't exactly the most talkative type. Jacob walked over to where his Gible had uncovered the secret path. There was a breeze coming out of it, strange.

Jacob went inside beckoning the others to not fall behind cause he didn't want to be responsible for them if something attacked while he wasn't looking. He pushed some of the ruble out of the way and made the opening a bit larger for his frame to fit more easily. As he descended down the path the cavern opened up but unfortunately there wasn't a readily available light source "Any of you got a pokemon that can make light? I cant see shit down here."

"Understood sir. just found the cave, will report if anything goes badly. See you soon." She sent the message back to Sénon Game before looking back towards @jacob. The ginger didn't give the best impression at first, but she was impressed by the mans football skills.

She's shocked at how the gible was able to find the passage. "Uh.. right." She responds to him with an awkward chuckle, she didn't know how exactly to pay him back but she couldn't deny that he did them a favor. Chloe dipped her head when @jasper approached them. She did hear that an officer would be joining them, though she was surprised that he was kept out of the loop.

To keep things brief, we just need to bring back an old crystal." She spoke to them both, giving them a small nod. As she followed behind Jacob. She squinted her eyes when he mentioned that the cave needs to be lit up. She pulls out two pokeballs, clicking them an emolga and voltrob were released.

"Light the way for us please." She gave the order with a nod, and her pokemon omitted a bright light. "Ray" She called out to her emolga grabbing its attention. "Scout for us please, alert us if you see any signs of team rocket.

The emolga nodded in understanding, gliding down the cave it's light flickering within the shadows of the cave.

TL;DR

Enters the cave system with jasper and jacob.

Uses Emolga to scout ahead, and has voltrob light up the cave somewhat.

Masked by joint illusions, they follow a safe distance behind the trio as they enter the cavern. The passage is dimly lit, but @chloe releases a Voltorb to light the path ahead. Convenient for Killian and his squad, as it makes following them easy.

They couldn't have been very far in when Killian feels something calling to him. It's strange, and he likens it to how he feels when Loveless reaches into his thoughts. He glances to the Espeon on his shoulder. She's tense, but her powers aren't in use.

His feet stop. Eyes scan the area around him, and he spots something strange. There's a crack in the wall to his right. Whatever is calling out to him is on the other side. He can feel it. Approaching without a word, he examines the crack. It's just big enough for him and Loveless to slide through.

Killian turns to face Lex, the only one here that he trusts. "There's something on the other side of this wall. I'm going to investiagte. Keeping moving, and I'll catch up when I'm done. Lex - your in charge." and without another word, he shimmies through the crack.

It's cramp, and it takes longer than he'd like, but he manages it. What awaits him on the other side is surprising. An old and worn building, likely belonging to one of the Draconid people. It's in total ruin, but whatever is calling out to him resides inside.

He approaches, slow and steady. The strange feeling inside his mind intensifies the closer he gets. Pulling back falls bits of debris, Killian finds what he's looking for.

An old and discarded tome covered in dust and written in a langue beyond his understanding. There isn't time to figure out why it called out to him or what it might say. He takes it, shoving it under his arm, and starts to make his way back to the others.

Hold your breath, grit your teeth and count to ten. It's almost like a ritual he defers to when in need of a moment, silencing any strain of thought and dulling his emotions before it can possibly peak. There is familiarity that comes with the sighting of the brunette, a cold sense of dread creeping up his spine as he briefly considers the possibilities. Right, he does recall being told about her ranger duties whilst they'd gone around searching for loose pokemon on a haunted ship...

Never let emotions or personal ties get in the way of your mission. It's a rule that has been chiselled into his flesh dozen of times, the scars on his back still aching despite the years that have passed. Of course, Ryuuzaki wouldn't be called a troublemaker if he hasn't broken that rule once... twice... maybe a few couple times but hey, at least he had good reason to each time - The crusade for control had never quite been enough for him to take lives where necessary.

Either way, there is a weight that settles in his chest as he watches Killian slip away into some secret hole in the wall, his mind already acknowledging the change in authority even as his eyes turn towards the cavern walls. Water drips from the stalactites up above, the sound of them crashing into the ground echoing through the hollow space.

'There's going to be an opening not too far ahead, some sort of space that's wider than this tunnel.' His notes reach Suzume Amemiya first, the odd change in tone between the individual splashes keeping him right on his toes. 'The walls don't quite seem right either.' He adds, cautiously running a finger against the nearest wall. While it is mostly smooth, there are odd scratches and engravings that don't quite seem to fit the natural formation of a cave, faded splashes of red and blues melting into the abundance of moss.

'There isn't anything cohesive here but up ahead perhaps...'

The addition of Suzume Amemiya’s Zorua was welcomed with a nod. Two Illusions working in sync were stronger than one. Lex stayed comfortably close to Killian Decker. Perhaps, too close. He was her anchor that she desperately clung to. When his voice resonated through her head, talking about going off alone, her brows pinched in defiance, but she didn’t say a word. Going off by herself is exactly how her last Excursion went to shit . . . and also part of the suspicion that led to her being labeled a mole.

Lex uncharacteristically bites her tongue although Killian might recognize her disapproval when he turns towards her. She simply nods in response to his orders. Ambers eyes watch as he disappears into the crevice, her stomach tying into a knot. Reluctantly, she pushes forward with the other two Rockets.

ryuuzaki amemiya’s voice rang through her head as they quietly follow the League personnel. Lex acknowledges his observations with a critical gaze. Her own gloved fingers move over the rough faults in the otherwise smooth wall, Hm, I see what you mean, she thinks into their psychic channel, Keep an eye on it, document what you can. I’ll stay with The League operatives to see if we can find what they’re after, And steal it, of course.

Lex spares a glance towards Suzume Amemiya’s Zorua, Can it handle the illusion on it’s own? Or should I leave Nova with you? The Zororak would be useful, but she trusted herself more than these two to stay hidden without an Illusion.

With or without Nova, she stalked forward, her well-placed steps less than a whisper on the rocky ground of the cave. Lex disappeared into the darkness of the shadows created by outcroppings along the path through the tunnel.

tl;dr: Lex worries as Killian Decker goes off by himself. She agrees with ryuuzaki amemiya and tells them to check it out and get any info they can from it. She stays on @chole’s trail to search for the crystal.

'I still don't understand what's going on.' He grumbled internally as he hefted the bag over his shoulder and reached down for his belt, and pulling out a small flashlight. He was wearing his uniform so he thankfully had a few useful things.

He wanted to bring Caeser out, he didn't like keeping him cooped up in a ball, but he wasn't exactly the most covert of pokemon. Instead, he just followed behind the other two and kept his ears perked up. If Rocket was involved then he didn't want to let anything slip.

One after another, the group begins to separate. Killian's voice in her head is a comfort, for a moment, before it's gone. Suzume glances to Lex not long after, sharp eyes settling on the woman. Though her expression never changes, Suzu can pick up on some vague disturbance in the force, some shadow of doubt that passes between the two.[break][break]

But just as quickly as it appears, it is gone. Alexandra Briarwood glances to her, and Suzu straightens her back to meet her.[break][break]

"It can, ma'am. Don't worry about us, we will be fine."[break][break]

Her Zorua glances up at her through the illusion, tail wagging gently from side to side. Nothing more is shared with the older woman, and she refocuses on her brother instead.[break][break]

"I'm with you, Ryuu."[break][break]

And where Ryuuzaki traces his fingers, hers are not far behind. She catches her fingernails against grooves in the wall too perfect to be natural. They trace over mysteries, a story yet untold. It takes her breath away as the pair of them continue ahead.[break][break]

Chloe’s emolga returns shortly after, by it’s expression Chloe was able to tell that she didn’t discover anything bad. “Something up ahead?” Chloe questions, which the emolga responds with a nod. Leading the way to what was discovered. She assumed that it wasn’t team rocket but something else, “Stay alert” She advised @jacob and @jasper, there was no telling where rocket was and this cave also had many unknown secrets.

The group was led to a new section within the cave, unlike where they were before this area seemed to have a natural light source - even if it wasn’t the greatest. Turning to her two pokemon she released earlier, she held out their pokeballs. “good work, rest up for now.” she compliments before returning them and observing their surroundings. The area was a lot more spacious, which was something Chloe personally enjoyed.

A strange cry disrupts the quiet, Chloe looks towards the direction of the noise; eyes widening when she discovers what it is that made the noise - poipole. The ultrabeast didn’t seem to cower from the groups presence, instead its head tilted in innocent curiosity. She soon notices bagon creeping out from their hiding spot, unlike the poipole they were more wary and stayed by it’s side. “I’m going to need to report this.. to hq.” Chloe says aloud, quickly pulling out her phone - her first thought was to tell Sénon Game about her discovery.

She sends a message which states; “Big discovery, poipole found within caves!”

TL;DR

Emolga leds the group into another area of the cave, they run into the poipole and group of bagon.

Chloe alerts Sénon Game of this unexpected discovery

Rather than head back the way he came, Killian advanced down a tunnel next to the dilapidated home. It was a short but winding path whose exit dropped him off in the very chamber the Poipole resided in.

His back pressed against the cavern wall. Killian observed the creature as the league arrived. He hadn't been with Rocket during the war with the Ultra Beasts, but he recognized it from the reports he'd read. If he let the League rescue it, they'd have a powerful Pokemon on their hands.

It was time to make his presence known.

"Our league friends have stumbled across an Ultra Beast. I'm moving in to prevent them from securing it."

Pulling the collar of his jacket around the lower half of his face, Killian stepped out into the open. A click and flash of light accompanied the release of his Vaporeon.

Aurora Beam cut across the air and hit the ground in front of @chloe.

For all the digging going on beneath his feet, he couldn't feel the ground stirring at all.

It all probably Heatran and Steelix were rooting around so low in the earth they were too far away to be felt. More likely though Sénon suspected it was because human senses were extremely close range.

His phone rang again, a notification rather than a phone call.

It was Porter with a update; an unsettling one.

Poipole had the capacity to be tamable and competent pokémon and by that right it was entirely plausible they could co-exist in our world without incident. The Poipole he had proved it.

Even still, the RedHead Ranger never forgot what they truly were or capable of.

Similarly he didn't forget what he and his rangers were capable of, and why they were here.

Not mission priority.

Wild Ultra Beasts can be highly lethal.
Engage with non-attack moves only.

Full-on battle prohibited; risk of cave-ins.

On my way.

He hadn't left Chloe much to work with on her own. His text message gave her loose enough parameters to capture the ultra beast if she was capable and lucky enough but not at the expense of her own safety nor her teams; the mission came first.

He trusted her enough to lead a team of three to an unknown point to search for an artifact without incident but with Rocket openly waving their flags to the public every mission was potentially one of them to hijack.

"Dugtrio. Tell the others to keep searching and then catch up with me."

The Mole Pokémon affirmed with furrowed brows and submerged herself to carry the message to her teammates; its sense of movement on the surface above it informing her that her trainer was already off in full sprint.

Lex gave Suzume Amemiya a nod when she confirmed her pokemon could cover them before pressing on with Nova.

It wasn’t too long before she spotted a strange purple pokemon that intrigued the League. As curious as Lex was, she knew what her objective was but the pokemon was a welcome distraction. That was, until an AURORA BEAM exploded in front of @chloe and her companions. Killian’s voice cut through the cave, not through her mind, which stopped her in her tracks. The thief’s eyes widened as he openly engaged several League operatives. Stupid. Fucking stupid. “Killian,” she hissed to herself as he brows pinched in worry. She didn’t know how far behind Suzume Amemiya and ryuuzaki amemiya were since they were now hidden in their own illusion.

Still, this was a welcome distraction. It literally hurt her to tear herself away from Killian and use this to her advantage, but that’s what he would want her to do. Lex proceeded further into the cave, past the League trainer and through a narrow passage.

Amber eyes widen and her jaw dropped when she stepped into a large, open cavern. Natural light streamed down from an opening far above. A strange powerful energy seemed to pulse from the shrine. For a moment, Lex was dumbfounded, frozen in awe. The Happiny in her backpack stirred, peeking over her shoulder to get a glimpse for herself. The pokemon cooed in curiosity, “Yea, I don’t know, Baby,” she murmured, stepping forward.

Like a Dustox drawn to a flame, the thief was drawn to the shimmering crystal that sparkled in the light that penetrated from above. Her lips curled into a greedy smile and the duo moved towards the alter, still shrouded in the Illusion of the Zororak.

All Rocket Allies have -25% Damage (Baby’s Friend Guard Ability)

tl;dr: Lex, again, worries about Killian Decker but proceeds deeper into the cave to find a big open cavern with a shrine-type alter in the center and a sparkling fragment.

"This one of those weird Ultra beast things I heard so much about?" he says as he squints at the Poipole...it looked unimpressive, how was it that this thing caused so much trouble for the people of hoenn? Were they that weak as a region? Oh well whatever something much more interesting appeared soon after the poipole's introduction.

He heard the click of a pokemon being released before anything else and a sudden flash of light aimed towards @chloe 's feet. Shit! Jacob instinctually moved away from the beast as it was clear something didn't want them near it. Gible screamed and hid behind his trainer's leg as gible knew what was going to happen next. "If you're going to strike at us, mean it. Suck a dick you coward."

he replied as the same sound that accompanied vaporeon was now in front of Jacob "Duraldon. laser focus, hyper beam." he answered as Duraldon leaned forward like a canon and fired off a hyper beam at the vaporeon. Whoever they were, they were not with the league and not above using lethal methods to get what they want.

He grinned with wicked pleasure as the fight he was oh so waiting for had finally arrived and the big lug could let loose as the battle just begun.

His words are saved for the hopes of preserving his mental, a tiny tick of stress pulsing through his veins as he briefly considers the true utility of the Illusion in this scenario. For now, staying hidden probably is the best course of action, especially if he doesn't wish to jeopardise his current civilian life.

'Two of us doing intel gathering... Just like the good ol' days, huh?' Parting off from Alexandra Briarwood with a quick nod, Ryuuzaki acknowledges how each step away from the League plunges them into darkness, his mind only focusing on following the tracks. True to his suspicions, the odd scribbles and colours soon bleed out into an entire canvas, the alternate route in the cave opening up into a strange room filled with tales long forgotten.

Water surrounds the edges of the room, emitting a strange glow that serves well in lighting the cavern. There are many broad strokes and colours that cover the unnaturally smooth walls but some parts of the painting have been lost to time and marred by cracks that have formed through natural causes and sheer neglect - To the top, flying pokemon encircle the skies. On the right, stickmen hold spears as they march away from decrepit homes towards some greater being over barren grounds and withered crops. To the left, clouded skies are lit with streaks of lightning as a faded sea churns below, dozens of dead aquatic pokemon floating on its surfaces.

Wandering closer to the centre of the mural, Ryuuzaki follow his gut instincts and reaches out, his hands gently scraping away a layer of moss as he takes a closer look at the depictions.

'Suzu, you're gonna want to see this.'

Right in the centre of it all, fire spirals around two majestic beasts, their teeth bared and danger lurking in their gaze as they glare each other down from their respective domains - Kyogre, ruler of the seas and Groudon, ruler of the lands. On the pectoral fins of Kyogre and the arms of Groudon, he can spy the symbols that seem to glow under the light of the strange waters.

'Primal Groudon and Kyogre fight... causing great calamity across the region.'

What the hell is this place that they've wandered into?

'Can you take photographs of all this? I'm going to try and see if there's anything more.'

There's nothing but unease that exists in his voice, the shifting of his gaze indicative of his need to know more as he spares Suzume Amemiya a quick glance. Up ahead, he can spy a strange shrine and instincts tell him that Alexandra Briarwood has to be somewhere close. Given how they had parted ways and the room seems to contain several entrances, he expects there to be an entrance that leads back to the League and he isn't wrong considering how he can hear their footsteps echoing down a tunnel.

What he doesn't expect is the presence of a Poipole in this cavern, much less Killian going completely off script for it.

'Take whatever pictures you can, Suzu. I'm going back to provide Killian support.' His thoughts come quick, a soft sigh exhaled through gritted teeth as he readies himself. Remaining out of sight is your best offensive - He recalls that lesson very clearly, the shadows always having been his friend and witness to the madness he drags.

Calling upon his Froakie and Lapras, Ryuuzaki slips them a quick nod, gesturing towards the League ahead as they pick up the loose ends. Froppy drops a Smokescreen almost instantly, cutting off their line of vision as he slips his way behind a waterfall, right out of view. Then with a signal, Lily freezes its flow with an Ice Beam, shattering the sheet of ice with a Hydro Pump and scattering the crystalline shards towards the League.

'Hurry up and get the Poipole while you can. I'll distract them for now.'

He just hopes that Killian Decker knows what he's doing.

Killian's not paying much attention to anything that @jacob 's saying. It's all white noise as he focuses on the task at hand. Securing the Poipole and providing a distraction for the rest of his team.

The Hyper Beam streaks across the cavern air and hits its mark. Vaporeon is less than pleased. Her body blasted back and into the nearby waterfall. It's a critical hit, but a mysterious force weakens the blast. She's still alive, submerged under the water.

A dense cloud of smoke suddenly coats the battlefield. Even before ryuuzaki amemiya 's voice enters into his mind, Killian's already dashing towards the Poipole. Arms wrapped around it tightly as he kicks the nearby Bagon aside.

Startled, Poipole struggles against Killian's embrace. "Hypnosis." a silent order given to the Orbeetle floating near him. Psychic waves pulse inside Poipole's mind that lul it peacefully to sleep.

"Good work, Ryuuzaki."

[break][break]

Killian darts back into the tunnel he came out from. With both a Poipole and a book in his hands, it's going to be hard to do much. So, he sets the Ultra Beast down and captures it inside of a Poke Ball. His next course of action is to assist Ryuuzaki in dealing with the League.

"Psychic Terrain." Orbeetle buzzes and expands its power to cover the cavern floor in glowing psionic energy. From there, Killian releases his trump card.

A Metagross.

[break][break]

It lands within the center of the smokescreen with a loud thud. Adorned on the creature's leg is a leather bracelet with a stone embedded into it. Killian wears a similar stone in the ring on his finger. Both begin to glow, flooding the cave with light as Metagross Mega Evolves.

Once the light fades, Metagross makes its move. Speeding straight toward Duraldon to deliver a powerful Hammer Arm.

From behind the thief, the rumble of the HYPER BEAM echoes through to her position. Her heart drops, the sound stops her in her tracks, forcing her to peer over her shoulder toward the dark tunnel she came down. She had traveled pretty far at this point, would the Orbeetle’s TELEPATHY still work through layers of rock?

Killian? If her voice could reach the others it may sound muffled in static, broken like a radio too far from it’s counterpart, Is everything ok? Hello?

Fuck. Her eyes fall on the Zororak who looks back towards her, she can sense her worry. Tension rose in Lex’s chest. He’s probably fine, nothing to worry about. He’s much stronger than her, after all. Still . . . Her fingers curl into the Zororak’s fur, “Go to him,” Nova probably wouldn’t be able to help much, but she could at least provide cover for him if things went south.

Nova obeyed, pulling her ILLUSION from Lex and striking off back from where they came on the swiftness of an AGILITY. Lex was exposed, but there was no one else in this part of the cave . . . yet.

“Alright, Baby,” Lex turned back towards the crystal, the same greedy hunger in her eyes that any thief would have for a shiny object. But there’s something more to this crystal, it radiates an energy that reminded her of her first excursion in the Cave of Origin. It’s intriguing, pulling her forward without much thought to anything else. She needed it, had to have it.

Lex climbed the stairs, drawing closer and closer. The energy washed over her, bathing her in a sense of primal urges. She felt energized, greedy, violent. The tight black chocker that clung to Lex’s neck began grew tighter as the jewel in the center began to pulse. It hungrily devoured the energy. Lex barely noticed; she was entranced in the crystal. It bathed her face in a purple light, casting sinister shadows across her features. Before she took note, a pokeball on her waist exploded open and the shriek of a surprised Gengar echoed through the large cavern.

Smoke was frantically flying through the air, bouncing off rocks and pillars like a pinball. He too was bathed in a similar energy that glowed from Lex’s chocker. The specter slammed into the alter, gripping it tightly before the energy consumed him. A light exploded from his center, causing Lex to shield her eyes. The form of a Mega Gengar took his place, a violent wild look in his eyes from the sudden intoxication of energy.

They didn’t have much time to register what happened. The crystal cracked in two and another light exploded from the alter. A loud, thunderous BOOM echoed through the caves as a beam shot up into the sky through the opening of the cave. The burst of energy pushed them back. Lex and Baby tumbled down the stairs, landing at the foot of them in a daze. Smoke was forced into the air, but he was able to steady himself before slamming into a nearby pillar.

With a groan Lex lifted her head as she looked in shock at the beam of light that fizzled out, leaving two shard of a crystal and an eerie silence, a void to be filled by something more sinister.

All Rocket Allies have -25% Damage (Baby’s Friend Guard Ability)

tl;dr: Lex can’t hear them in her mind so she send Nova back, leaving herself with an Illusion (gives an opening for someone to come oppose her, get her). She approaches the crystal to take it but her Gengar bursts out of the pokeball and mega evolves. The crystal is activated and breaks into two pieces. A beam of light shoots into the sky. Minior shower incoming (y’all can rp that while I’m gone).
