The sun rises and another day of training begins. There is only a small handful of them who have been able to get through all the paper work, and test needed to get this far. Though apprently other trainees had been brought in as well to over over training. Honestly Razz was happy to be done with the formality of trying to get to know the other rangers and bullshit, today was about training in actual field work. Razz stands at attention as Captain blows a whistle to get the group's attention. [break][break]

"Morning everyone so glad you all could show!" The old captain greets with a warm smile on his face. "For those that don't know me I am Captain Dai Son, I lead the Rangers here in Sootopolis City," after he introduces himself he is pacing back and forth with a loud voice to ensure that everyone hears him clearly how he talks about how their jobs often involves rescue, be it helping pokemon or against them as at times they can get violent and how your average trainer just can't cut it. [break][break]

"So today we're going to be practicing a simple exercise, working together with who I paired you with while you come and saved little injured ol' me," he chuckles as he puts his arm up to his head for the added dramatics. "Alright Alexopoulos, Kingsman you're up first," he tells the two before he jumps off the side of the creator top they were on. Shock hits the whole class as to how the old man just so simply jumped off the cliff. If one were to look over they would've seen how his Drifloon had caught him before putting him on the side of the cliff to be 'rescued.' [break][break]

'Razz' however is silent about the whole thing going ahead of his partner to check out the cliff and how steep it was. He doesn't even seem to ask her anything as he is already moving to climb down.

Raziel Beckett

compared to her partner's silence, mila is chatty the entire way. she is bubbly, energetic and talkative, striking up a conversation with both the captain and anybody who will let her. the whole time that captain dai son was explaining their roles and mission details, she was also whispering to her the other trainees, pointing out funny quirks or conspicuous gestures. sometimes she got laughs, others she got glares.

[break][break] despite her excitable nature, however, mila was full of nerves.

[break][break] the twenty-something year old was anxious. this was the first time in a long while that she had been publicly been able to take part of anything that wasn't rocket and more than that... it was something that she had done in a long while that wasn't all because of michel. these days, everything reminded her of her brother. even something so slight as dark hair that was cut in just the right way to remind her of her baby brother.

[break][break] speaking of, her eyes drift towards Raziel Beckett - a cadet who was just young enough to remind him of her brother, and yet seem entirely different. before her attention can distract her, however, the captain mentions that their mission is to start. her eyes follow his figure as he jumps atop the crater — and then just — disappears.

[break][break] the laugh that sparks from her is unplanned. a little jarring.

[break][break] "rude," she jokes, smirk on her mouth, turning to her partner. "he didn't even tell us what to — "

[break][break] her words, however, are cut off by her own violation as she notices that Raziel Beckett is already making his way to climb down. without even talking to her! rude!!

[break][break] a flash of irritation strikes her. "hey!" she says, immediately reaching forward to grab his elbow. "what do you think you're doing?"

Razz roughly pulls his arm away from the girl who grabbed him. The rookie a tad touchy and definitely didn't want someone grabbing him. "Our task Alexopoulos," that was a mouthful of a name. "Maybe if you stopped talking and start doing we could be half way there by now." With that he does go over the cliff, giving a quick double whistle and both of his Meowstic climb onto his back as he climbs down. [break][break]

"If you want something to do get a flying pokemon and see if the 'victim' is okay," he suggest clearly not that interested in really working with the other. Razz had his Meowstic pair and that was all he needed for this. [break][break]

Meanwhile down below their captain was watching, just face palming with a sigh. This was going to be a long day.

"Mila," she said, and if that was not enough, she emphasized it further. "Mee-la," she sounded it out for him, reaching forward to flick the kid on the forehead before he had a chance to get away. Sure, they didn't know each other all that well, but they'd been through basic training together and she was fairly sure that this wasn't the first time she'd had to remind him. Or, maybe it was the first time, and Mila was being unordinary vexed.

[break][break] "Yeah, and maybe if you had half a brain, you'd realize the point of this task is teamwork." She rolled her eyes at him. "Kingsly." That was his name, right?

[break][break] As expected, however, the other didn't pay attention to a word she said and continued his descent down the cliff. Mila, however, knew better and simply leaned over the edge to watch him scale down it.

[break][break] At that moment, a ferocious gust rolled past, flaring up Mila's skirt. Not that the woman cared, hand on her hip, as she looked after her supposed "partner" down the cliff. "Watch —" Her words, however, were cut off my another blast of wind — this time, much fiercer than the last. "— out!" This time, her words were higher-pitched, a warning, pointing towards a flock of aggressive Winggull and Murkrow that flapped its way.

[break][break] Meowstic or not, one could only hope that Razz had a PHD in wall-climbing. Or at least something to ground him better than his own hands.

"Alex-o-poul-os," the younger ranger in training would say out of pure spite, definitely annoyed with the way the woman decided to flick him in the head. It would definitely get a chuckle out of Salem but Sabrina would have been the one to encourage their trainer to move. [break][break]

Going down was slow, but as far as he was aware they didn't really have any tools. And while he probably should have asked his partner if she had any pokemon useful for this, it all seemed simple. Go down close enough for his Meowstic to get the injured and leave. He grunts as he is forced to hang on with the first gust of wind. Razz does what he can to brace himself, especially has his partner gives him a warning. But unlike how he is now, he is untrained. He barely started working out and didn't have month of training under his belt. [break][break]

So its not surprised as the wind is enough to knock him off, and for a brief moment there is panic. But like in the war he trusted the meowstic with his life, and they wouldn't fail him now. Both their eyes begun to glow catching their trainer mid air. Salem would ask if his trainer was fine before the two cats would put him back on the cliff and allow him a better grip. [break][break]

"Alexopoulos, see what you can do about the pokemon causing that" [break][break]

[break][break] Kingsman was cute, she had to admit, even though he was a total sourpuss. Still, it made things better when she knew that she was able to drag him into her childish antics, whether he knew it or not.

[break][break] Mila watched the other scale the cliff, idly wondering if maybe Razz did have a degree in wall-climbing. He was oddly good at it — better than a kid his age should be. It almost reminded her of the way she'd been taught how to scale walls ... she surpressed a shudder at the memory of her old Rocket past. The thought was only in passing, though, since Mila knew that it was, like, completely ridiculous. Kingsman was too much of a goody-two-shoes. No way that he was in Rocket —

[break][break] The young Ranger doesn't have time to entertain the thought, however, because there is a gust of wind that demands her attention. She shouts down at him, but he seems almost as stubborn as he was at using her last name.

[break][break] And so she would be stubborn right back.

[break][break] She stuck her tongue out at him, blew a raspberry.

[break][break] "And if I don't wanna? Maybe I can change my mind if you use my actual name, sweetie."

Don't question and follow orders. It was as simple as that, as someone who used to be Rocket she should know this and yet she couldn't follow a simple order to do their job now. Maybe it was because he still wasn't used to people, maybe because Rocket still left him bitter even after two years. He'll come to later regret what he says now, but for now he is still a teenager filled with rage. "It's just a stupid name! Now follow orders you god damn ex-rocket-"[break][break]

"Enough!" Captain Son calls out finally having enough after checking his watch, and with the way the two were arguing wasn't helping things. Then Kingsman pushing it too far as the boy didn't seem to believe in their rehabilitation program. "It's clear the two of you can't get along, and this fighting isn't going to do well for the person you're trying to rescue." The captain makes a move to climb back up again as Razz curses under his breath, angry over everything. Once more the younger ranger is forced to hang on as the pokemon from before attack picking up the winds. [break][break]

Though it seems there was more to it than just the winds as some of the rumble started to crumble, the part in which Son was standing on coming down as well. Though unlike the younger ranger he didn't have his pokemon as he already returned his Drifloon. With his sudden footing down and the harsh wings he is slammed head first into the cliff being knocked out as he started falling. [break][break]

"Shit, Alexopoulos pokemon now!" this was clearly no longer an exercise especially as their captain had now fallen into the water out cold. Razz would jump from the cliff himself to try and help their captain. His Meowstic slowing his fall.

[break][break] Raziel Beckett might have as well called him a slur. Everyone else who had been watching the two make a fool of themselves go silent. An audible gasp can be heard somewhere.

[break][break] Mila's expression, which had been light and full of laughter, suddenly grew quiet as well. It was impossible to tell what she was thinking — whether she was mad, or afraid, or —

[break][break] "Enough!"

[break][break] Their captain's words were sharp as it cut through the air, condemning them for their actions. Perhaps he might have said something more, but was suddenly cut off from his lecture with the wall crumbling beneath him. Kingsman, of course, was quick to jump into the heat of things by jumping off the cliff and onto the abyss below. Psychic cats or not, there was only so much they could do before they'd both fall to their demise. After all, psychic only had so long a hold.

[break][break] Boys. They could be so stupid sometimes.

[break][break] Reaching into her pocket, Mila quickly withdraws a pokemon onto her side. An Alolan Vulpix. "Safeguard!" A move that is ordinarily used as a defense move is repurposed — a glow of light flashes downwards as a translucent shield opens up right beneath the two men, and should they fall onto it, they'll bounce back up like trampoline. Mila directs herself and some others to grab them, pulling them back onto the top of the cliff, should they so need the help.

Thankfully it seems the other is able to think as fast as her mouth runs. Using the SAFEGAURD in such a way that it would bounce them up again. Though with the weight of both men it wasn't enough for them to be at the cliff again. But it was enough for his Meowstic to stick them on the wall once more as Razz made sure to keep his captain's arm around him to keep them up. [break][break]

Thankfully as he climbs up the Captain is starting to regain some sense of consciousness, making it easier to climb up with him until they were at the top with the other rangers. Their SIC coming up to help Razz pick up their captain. "Stay here," they tell both trainees angerly before Dai Son and his assistant walk off to talk privately.[break][break]

A few words were shared and Razz has time to ponder a bit on what he said in his annoyance. "Sorry about that..." he grumbles quietly to her with his arms crossed as he waited for what was to come.

Raziel Beckett

In some mastery of fate, her tactics work. The captain and Raziel Beckett bounce up from the move and finally make their way to the top, damaged but somehow still breathing. Of course, it isn't without a fair share of consequence. Mila winced at the withering glare that the captain and assistant send her way, at least having some form of humility at her actions.

[break][break] It seems that her fellow trainee was no different, scuffing about, and even mumbling an apology.

[break][break] It's enough for Mila, at least for now.

[break][break] She smiles brightly, clasping him on the shoulder. "Glad you're safe, Razzy."
