a fluctuation in the aura has xen's eyes bursting open just as the door explodes inwards. he's there in a flash, a well timed METEOR MASH forces a chuck of concrete to rise up as and act as a defensive wall between king, and the oncoming attack.

It’s chaos, but she’s use to it. Her heart races wildly but she’s calm, collected, stoic. She promised she’d be there for him, and here she is, standing beside him. Eva meets Matias’s gaze with a reassuring nod. She’s not quite sure what he’s looking for, but she hopes she can give it to him.

It’s King’s predatory glare that breaks her resolve, only for a brief moment. Still, she doesn’t flinch, doesn’t turn away. It’s not the first time someone’s looked at her like that or threatened her life. It likely won’t be the last.

“You can try,” her grin is almost playful, challenging. It would take more than that to scare her off.

blaziken bursts free from his capsule, DETECTING the threat intended against king. with ease, he lifts the previously damaged cement, a natural shield against the THUNDER WAVE. a return to sender powered by a FIRE PUNCH returns the now cracked, flaming pavement at eva and matias.

in its wake, king runs in, blood rushing into his ears. he aimlessly tosses another orb to the side, before aiming to tackle his former friend.

“Blade!” her voice is sharp, commanding. The Gallade steps forward, a shimmering barrier of PROTECT meets the flaming concrete. A thunderous crash against it shatters the rock before it can crush them. Eva doesn’t flinch.

King is quick to follow the attack, lunging at Matias. The sudden rush surprises her and King is on him before she has a chance to react or speak. A flash of light brings a Beartic onto the field in addition to his other pokemon. Eva reacts with another flash of light, a sphere releases a Machamp into the fight. She grunts, turning and spreading her four arms wide to meet the Blizzard with a WIDE GUARD, protecting the remainder of Matias’s pokemon.

king's charge is predictable, expected, and welcome. it's why he doesn't bother countering, at least not until he's taken to the ground.

the moment his back hits concrete is when he swings an elbow across king's jaw, hoping to catch him off guard.

rearing back, he delivers a nasty headbutt straight into the mans nose.

a roar vibrates the very air as dozens of sharp, jagged spears of ice form. the ICICLE CRASH launches at the remaining pokemon of matias, each deadly enough to pierce skin and more.
