A last minute shipment needed to be nabbed before the League raided this smuggler's den along the cliffsides of Ever Grande City's coastlines. He and another Rocket representative, a Martín del Mar, were stationed here for the interim. The mission was simple: Receive and verify the shipment, and get the Hell out before the League fell down on them. If they got caught, they were on their own.[break][break]

Lucky for them they had a man on the inside funneling information to them.[break][break]

"You play cards?" Adrian shuffles a deck before dealing out a single card to himself, his counterpart and a Bisharp standing adjacent to them. The next round of cards dealt are face up for a quick game of blackjack. He grabs a mug off the table, taking a gulp of the pumpkin spice coffee inside. Eugh. Adrian didn't really care for the stuff.

"I'd ask you, but most everyone seems to be the secretive type," he offers in response, though he's not interested in a contrarian either. Ah, vague answers, the specialty of just about every single member of Team Rocket, apparently. They’re all so hard-pressed to keep their secrets. It’s boring, but it’s not like Mars can blame them, considering that he himself often does the same thing.

To a degree, at least. Like how most people’s affiliation with Team Rocket is supposed to be a secret from the public (including his own), but one that one too many within the organization know. All it takes is one snitch and all those secrets are revealed, but everyone knows better than to do things like those. Hell, it almost makes them sound like a cult.

His eyes flicker over to Bisharp. "Hit or Stay?" Its silence is telling, and when he looks up, he sees it boring holes through the entrance. He expects to hear the agreed upon knock. But instead only silence rings in his ears.[break][break]

"There's two of them at the door, and more behind them." His eyes tell all. He reaches for a pokeball while the Bisharp keeps its gaze leveled at the door, both of them expecting a fight to break out. "What do you want to do about it?"[break][break]

He deferred to Martin, namely so that he was most liable if things went poorly.

What, does this guy have x-ray vision or something? Some avatars have the weirdest powers, but at least it’s useful in this situation, so he should probably be glad about it…

That’s all the instruction given before both pokémon TELEPORT away, the sound of a fight soon being heard as those who attempted to ambush them are taken by surprise. The pokémon are swift and merciless in their attacks.

It seems all too convenient—surely they would find it in themselves to fight back, and force their hand. But apparently whomever was on the other side of that door had not been briefed on the dangers.[break][break]

"Well alright then..." Dealing to himself, Adrian quickly busts after reaching fifteen, only to be dealt an eight. That's how it goes sometimes when you're the House. Flipping over his cards, it's time to see where they were all at. Adrian counters three-and-twenty to Mars' nine-and-ten. When he looks over to Bisharp, it reveals a Black Jack of Clubs. Tch. "Lucky bastard, did ya even realize what ya had?" Bisharp seemed indifferent. Adrian struggles not to continue being a sore loser.[break][break]

"Guess that's what we'll call ya from now on. How 'bout it, Blackjack?"
