Adrian unleashes a Corviknight to scout ahead while Martin encroaches upon an Ampharos. While they're discussing, the raven returns with a Probopass in pursuit, its MAGNET PULL making it impossible to outrun it.

"...Whatever I want. I don't work for a living, if that's what you're asking." Though he had income, it came from more of a hobby, and he wasn't as dependent on it as he was the family trust his mother still kept him in on.

"Corviknight, Body Press." Magnet Pull brought the pokemon hurtling toward Probopass quicker than expected, allowing it to crash its lustrous black crest into the creature's earthen features. Its face crumpled from the damage, and the Probopass collapsed to the ground after while Adrian readied a pokeball.

"You don't need to know any of this to gather the necessary reagents." He disliked prying.

The Raichu remains suspended in midair, and Mars throws a pokéball at it while he has the chance.

"Okay, let's assume you have read the file," Adrian threw a Quick Ball at the Electrode, hoping not to be interrupted while he navigated the nuances of conversation.

"What do you think it would tell you?" Adrian pads forward to retrieve his pokeball. His eyes flash back to Martin. "The only insight you'd get is why they recruited me."

"You can't ascribe someone's motives to what a stranger writes down in some beige folder somewhere."

Maybe this was all too boring for Martin, but Adrian was a collector. This part of the job came as naturally as breathing, and he could throw away countless hours just to try and find the one thing that justified the expense.

As Adrian talks, Mars simply listens, his expression an unreadable mask that doesn’t reveal much at all; not even showing shock when a large Aggron comes stomping around.

”Ah, so you do get it.” He nods to his Delphox, and a FIRE BLAST is sent towards the wild pokémon. Loudly, it cries out in pain, charging towards the fox as if attempting to smack it with an IRON TAIL. Delphox is faster though, and a MYSTICAL FIRE takes care of the rest.

After throwing a pokéball, Mars turns to Adrian, this time smirking once again.

Adrian exchanged the previous pokemon for a Glastrier that had come under his possession some time ago. It ran down the Stunfisk with an ICICLE CRASH before rearing around and bulldozing through with HIGH HORSEPOWER.

The Stunfisk was as good as toast. Once he confined it to a pokeball, it would belong to him.

Withdrawing the former, Adrian unleashes an Alcremie in a move that totally wasn't guided by motives beyond the in-character. He's pleased that Mars has given up his questions, even if only for the moment. He opens up with attract, hoping to scale down the Mawile's offensive.

It crunches the Alcremie, which might've been alarming at first, but Alcremie was able to ooze out of its mouth relatively unharmed. Having tasted of its sweet disposition, the Mawile's further aggression was curbed by its infatuation...

Wearing it down and capturing it came soon after.

Vikavolt, Scizor… Bugs are bugs, and neither are of any interest to Mars. If he were somehow able to predict that in the near future (or past?) Scizor’s fucked up cousin would try to kill him with axe, perhaps he would care more, but since that’s not possible, there’s only one thought in his mind when nodding for his Delphox to attack the Pincer Pokémon:
