[attr="class","illie i"]at some point, his golurk begins wiggling its fingers and she's shifting her hands to trace circles into the appendages. she's too absorbed in the automaton but his words leave a flush painting her cheeks regardless.

"no," she glances toward him with a fond smile, a giggle escaping soon after. "you're not helping at all."

and as a curious misdreavus floats over to join their group, landing on her head, she hums in thought. one of her hands leaves his golurk's in order to welcome the misdreavus with a gentle pat. it coos softly in greeting, wiggling further into her hair.

"vindex," she finally decides on. "depending on the translation, it could mean avenger or champion. i suppose which one you'd like to use is up to you."

especially when people seldom care much for her opinions. outside of scientific realms, the inner workings of her mind don't find much traction with others.

"why?" she flushes slightly and glances away. a gastly approaches in a little cloud of purple mist. "there's better opinions out there."

and without hesitation, she's raising a hand to extend it toward the gastly. the little ghost stares before snickering. she matches purple mist with her own, pink mingling with the life force in little curling wisps. the gastly snickers louder, amused at the sight. it wiggles about in each little cloud of pink she makes, as if making it into a game.

when it's tired, it slowly floats onto the makeshift cuddle puddle of ghosts and lands safely on one of the golett's laps.

her brows furrow slightly in thought and she's leaping on an answer without considering it could be wrong. there's no way she could be any kind of exception to him, let alone the rare one.

"Stormy Silph," she supplies. they're siblings, bonded in a way she doesn't understand. her opinion must matter as much to him as it does to illeana.

his head gestures and her eyes dart to follow. the resulting find is a curious frillish. it's close enough for her to touch by the time she looks up and really, do you expect her to not touch?

a hand rises to reach for pink tentacle feelers just as the frillish reaches out as well. both are curious, tentative, gentle. and when illeana smiles, the frillish lets out a soft cooing sort of sound before floating around them in a flourish of pink. it eventually settles into the cuddle puddle after it grows tired of dancing.

his relationship with Stormy Silph is strained as much as he likes to pretend otherwise. despite that, hearing her name makes him smile, fond memories returning for moments.

"okay," she murmurs. "i'll take your word for it, then." trust has always been placed rather blindly. that will, seemingly, never change.

an elgyem drifts by overhead and disappears off into the night. and eventually, illeana begins recalling the cuddle puddle into their pokeballs. it's gotten a little too late and at this rate, she'll fall asleep if they don't leave soon.
