He could walk around all night, impulsively buying this or that; but the brisk winter air was disagreeable to any accustomed to a Hoennian climate. Knowing Galar to be something of a temperate middle ground, he shouldn't be too sure.[break][break]

Snow continued to float down from on high, like stars falling from the sky.[break][break]

It looked like it was going to be a white Christmas.

“A little.” Rowan admitted with a sheepish smile as Adrian wrapped an arm around him, drawing closer towards them in an effort to keep warm. Sinnoh was far more inclimate than Hoenn or Galar, but he couldn’t imagine being anywhere else for the holidays. “I’ll be fine, though.”

Snowflakes slowly drifted down around them as they walked, coating every surface of the appropriately named city. “It’s our first Christmas together.” The words were enough to bring more crimson out in his already wind-burned cheeks, resting his head against their shoulder. “Doesn’t feel like we’ve been together almost a whole year.”

Their romance was whirlwind, and with the interference of Rocket in their lives, these past few months seemed to pass at lightspeed. “I’m glad we have been, though.” Would he have survived the last ten months without them?

But the eventfulness of that year was more than enough to leave him with a deeper frown line, though he had no small number of things to take joy in. Holding fast to one another then as they did now, through a winding cold, dark expanse; neither would have imagined a more stalwart companion would find them, much less stay by their side through it all. Taking a moment to veer over to the side of the street, noticing the spectacle of lights inside before cupping Rowan's head in his hands, he gently lowered his forehead to theirs. "...I missed this," he coos, swaying with Rowan for a moment.

Warmth rushed into his cheeks as Adrian placed their forehead against his own, the sensation of touch between them seeming brand new after months without being able to make meaningful contact. “I missed this, too.” As he looked into their eyes, all his troubles melted away like the snow that refused to cling to the pavement. Team Rocket was a distant memory as long as he could share blissful moments such as this with them, unaware of the world that existed outside of their loving gaze.

“We should keep walking, you don’t want your boyfriend to freeze, do you?” A soft giggle escaped his lips, slipping his hand into their own and tugging them along further into the alleyway. “Where are we going, anyways?” Snowpoint City wasn’t one of the ones they’d visited on their previous vacation, this was all new to him.

Adrian turned to stare through the glass of a small, folky store displaying a traditional holiday fruitcake among an assortment of other cultured truffles, desserts and such. Inside the shopkeeper struggled with the influx of customers buying out their wares, as was customary.[break][break]

"Snowpoint has goods coming in from all around the world. They've got everything you could hope for." One of Sinnoh's port cities, the amount of imports and exports going through the city was nothing to balk at. If it existed, you could find it here. You just had to find the right window.[break][break]

Rather than keep them waiting, freezing in the cold, they continue forward. "...So keep your eyes peeled for anything worthwhile," Adrian suggests as they head back into the bustling street.

“Mmm, but how can I window shop when I only have eyes for you?” Rowan’s lips curled into a playful smile, pulling himself close to Adrian while they walked. Still, he’d pry his gaze away from his beloved for long enough to look through the vibrant displays that had been meticulously been pieced together by the owners. “Not everything. I don’t think they could possibly sell what I want from you tonight.” The smile turned devious, offering a wink towards his boyfriend.

“Ooh, over here.” A gentle tug pulled Adrian over towards the next window, amber eyes twinkling as he fixated on the mannequins that were dressed in high fashion garments and jewelry, one of the few luxuries he missed from living in Galar. “I used to dress like that, you know. Before the hoodies and jeans.” Before he was broke, more accurately.

But Christmas was something of a sentimental tradition; he would like to do it justice. Especially for those who mattered most. He felt at peace close to Row, whether he was pressed up against him in a warm embrace, or being dragged along to the next window...[break][break]

"What's wrong with hoodies and jeans?" They were pretty trendy, and comfortable. Anytime Adrian saw a sleek tailored suit, he couldn't help feeling a level of discomfort. Like linens woven too tight, cut too restrictive. It wasn't entirely the norm, but Adrian had never been one to let someone take his measure lightly. So nothing ever fit quite as it should have.[break][break]

Adrian is not blind to the appeal of such luxuries and fashion, however. "...You wore a nice suit to the Soiree," Adrian reminds him while looking pointedly through the window at the various ensembles being displayed.[break][break]

“Nothing, really. It’s just…different, is all.” It was an embarrassment to be seen in anything less than his best dressed, according to his ‘father’. Originally he’d struck out into a more destitute fashion sense as a form of defiance, but the clothes became all he could afford once he’d come to Hoenn. “I miss it, sometimes.” There was something to be said for the confidence boost that came with more form-fitting and luxurious clothing, wearing baggy things all the time almost made him sulk into the confines of the threads.

“You didn’t look half bad in a suit yourself, Mr. Malcolm.” A sly wink was given towards the taller man, following his gaze towards the clothing behind the glass once more with a soft sigh. “Either way, I can’t afford any of it on Rocket salary. Not like I have much choice, huh?”

Things like thread count and material eluded him, but he wondered if Rowan wouldn't be able to make sense of it as they perused the goods.[break][break]

"What colors do you like?" Adrian found darker colors worked for him, but he couldn't help wondering what a chestnut color couldn't do for Rowan. Maybe even paired with an ivy cap... Adrian went a litte flush, realizing he was painting his own little Galarian stereotype. Whoops.[break][break]

But Rowan would know better, hunting down something more suited to his own tastes while Adrian followed after, until finally their fingers traced over something worthy of their attention. Quickly he presses Rowan: "Are you going to try it on...?" Adrian gestures towards a changing room, wagging his eyebrows...

“I prefer darker colors usually, blacks, reds and purples.” Deep tones often made his eyes stand out, the highlights in his hair as well. After a few moments of looking through the clothing choices the shop offered, he finally settled on something that matched his tastes in both quality and color. “Of course I am.” Rowan gave a teasing smirk, slipping into one of the changing rooms at the back of the establishment.

Clothes slowly came off, embracing the warm heat of the parlor as a welcome change from the bitter cold of the outdoors. “Better not be peeking out there~.”

Instead he kept his back against the door, listening to the cloth and fabric dragging against his skin as it slid off and collapsed in a pile upon the floor. He might as well have been watching, he could tell every strip of clothing Rowan was tearing away just by the sounds of him disrobing. That was plenty for now.[break][break]

"You just about finished in there?" The last sleeve pulled up over his arm before a few pats and adjustment were made to the fit while Rowan presumably checked himself in the body mirror. Only Adrian would be clueless as to how they looked until they stepped out, or opened the door enough to let him in.[break][break]

"Come now, let's see it then..."

“I’m almost done, keep your pants on, babe.” The opposite of what he was usually requesting of Adrian, to be honest. After a few moments of shuffling around, Rowan would have the clothes settled in the most comfortable manner, looking himself up and down in the mirror with a small smile. It had been a while since he’d been able to get dressed up, and this was a much happier occasion than the disaster that had been the Soiree.

“Alright, I'm coming out.” Pushing open the door, Rowan stepped out of the dressing room. “So, what do you think?” A small turn showed off the entire outfit, the suit he’d chosen that complimented both his build and complexion. “How hot do I look?” He smirked, obviously knowing the answer.
