He dawdles, however, admiring the sight of his date for a few moments too long before Melody Miro swoops in to take her hand. The royal acts aghast when she sticks her tongue out at him afterward.

"Melody Miro? My own friend? How scandalous." He chuckles, sighing before reluctantly taking a step forward onto the dance floor. "Is it still considered a challenge if I ask for some guidance every now and again?" He inquires, awkwardly placing one foot forward before doing a little jig.

He pauses, briefly, when he sees an Azurill and its trainer, Rowan Wrynn , soon thereafter. His current situation might be a bit embarrassing, sure, but he still offers the ROCKET BEAST a smile and a wave regardless. All in the name of keeping up pretenses, right? Though Remiel tried to make a habit of not showing other Rocket members his 'goofy' side.

Although Stormy Silph’s name does cross her mind, the bad blood between the two contributes to how easily it’s dismissed. Just as the two of them step towards the balcony, kat loops her hand around gabe’s arm, not once wondering if she should stop to ask for permission. It wasn’t her style.

"among a few," he answers with a small smile, letting a sliver of mystery linger into his words. legendary pokemon didn't necessarily constitute a dangerous, and powerful woman, as exampled by dahlia goode, but it certainly helped in Stormy Silph and Katherine Fairburne's cases. he knew deep that, even without them, they'd be forces to be reckoned with.

her presence around his arm isn't unwelcomed, and he accepts it as if he'd barely noticed. her impish grin was a keen reminder of the patron she served, and the powers granted to her in-doing so. it was exciting, in a way.

"is that so?" he chuckles once, a quick but powerful vibration spreading out from his chest, "what projects are you currently working on?" it was no secret she was brilliant outside of being a competent, and powerful trainer.

“well, you’re familiar with all the things i deal with as an elite four and a member of the initiative.” New to his role or not, gabe must’ve read all about it by now. She wouldn’t want to bore him with details regarding her so-called public projects.

“but… besides that, there’s this one other thing. you know, collecting a bunch of old relics for the god who originally owned them.” she is referring to giratina and the plates, of course.

the heretics claiming the plates weren't theirs to have were wrong. all of them.

“i know, who would’ve thought that gods could have a sense of nostalgia?” a chuckle escapes her, “it’s a bit weird but i get why it’s important for him.”

she was correct of course. the workings of the elite four, and even some of the council's own projects, were under his heavy scrutiny. a man in his position liked to be informed of everything he could. everything.

"is that so?" this one was affair he was sparsely informed on, and an interesting one at that. what captured the attention of a god would capture his own. gabriel stops once they breech the doorway and feel the gentle, chilled wind, turning towards her mere feet from overlooking the balcony into the road.

even if katherine wanted to answer gabe’s question, she probably wouldn’t have done it this way. she’d have waited for an official date, if not their second, before divulging such sensitive information.

gabriel chuckles, deep and knowing, as he takes a sip of his glass. he'd known that the information wouldn't be that simple to get from her. it was likely too valuable, too personal. he did need to try, though. to test the allowable barrier of what was, or wasn't allowed when it came to heralds and their gods.

FERNANDO SILPH wasn't the type to admit it, was he? Thinking about it, he also wasn't the type to appreciate this sort of conversation being held with his peer. That's precisely why Katherine seemed to like Gabe's comment.

She doesn't sound surprised. Instead, a fire burns inside her in the face of a challenge. Keeping Gabe on his toes would be too easy. However, making him regret asking for it is a challenge all in itself.

She steals a sip from her drink whilst their eyes remain locked, contemplating how to torment him. "I'll keep your offer in mind, then." He may not have framed it as one, but Katherine indeed interprets it as such.

"mm, i suspect there's little that fernando would admit to bothering him." he was a cutting presence in the councilman's chambers, and it'd quickly earned gabriel's respect. he viewed the region like gabe did his own family — a top priority.

his eyebrow quirks, and there's the faintest narrow to his eyes, as he returns her challenge. "please do," he gives in response, "but don't dwell on it too long." gabriel was a patient man, surely, but by no means a lovestruck fool, after all.

wetting his lips on the alcohol again, he turns his gaze back onto the scenery beyond.

"i find myself in a unique position to enact change across the region," he starts, "a place i never guessed i would be. admittedly, there is much i'm still learning, but..." his gaze feels lighter, as it moves back to Katherine Fairburne, "if you were in my position, where would you start?"
