His mind then wandered to one of those absolutely cheesy ‘end of the world’ films that had crazy people sending up two spaceships’ worth of potentially undertrained ‘astronauts’ to detonate two big-ass meteors that were headed for their world…

Yeah, he hoped they weren’t going to do that.

Because how the fuck could any Pokémon survive up in space?

He’d almost stepped on an Oddish had he not noticed the clump of grass suddenly blink and flee.

other pokemon, however, will likely just be floating around helplessly. actually, would flying-types still be able to move around? psychic-types, maybe, with the power of PSYCHIC, but what about the others?

guess they'll have to figure it out eventually.

matias plucks a berry, offering it to the skippy skiploom that floats on over. traces of its SLEEP POWDER dote its skin, so matias is careful not to touch it even if he really wants to pet it.

At the mention of ‘sygna suits’, he cringed for a few moments.

“Mine got a little messed up,” he grumbled with a sigh. “Who the hell knew that ice could fucking stab a human being… and leave no evidence.”

There was a shaking coming from the shrubbery nearby, and out came a Drapion, mandibles clicking angrily in his direction.

“The hell did I do to you?” he said in the scorpion Pokémon’s direction, before it suddenly let rain a wave of noxious purple liquid—

Before it could hit either of them, though, the surge of poisonous fluid seemed to stop in mid-air, and he knew who had come to their rescue.

“Go, go!” he said to the Metagross, who had been keeping an eye out on them the entire time—the Toxic sludge whisked away, the Drapion then turned its attention to the shining silver beast and attempted to lash out with a Night Slash, however the Metagross retaliated with a Meteor Mash as it came too close.

“Anyway, as I was saying… now that you mention it…”

His mind flashed back to the time when he was literally catapulted through what felt like space, and heard that strange voice—holy fucking crap.

“You think we’re going to find anything else up there out in space asides from that meteor?”

The sounds of battle echoed behind him, and once the Metagross was done, he dropped a Pokéball on the passed-out Drapion.

something drops from above and bonks into matias' head. it feels HARDENED, and as his gaze drops to the ground, he sees a spewpa rolled up into a ball.

it doesn't respond. so matias drops a pokeball on it.

“At least your suit didn’t get busted up,” he said with a sigh as he picked up the Pokéball with the Drapion in it and looked at it for a few moments before it was whisked away to the storage system.

“Mine had a noticeable tear, so… yeah. You think they’re going to make the suits bulletproof or some shit?” he mused as he heard a loud buzzing noise, and looked to see a Ninjask fly past him.

Like, way too close to his face for comfort.

However, the Metagross and the Lucario paid it no mind.

matias cannot comprehend the technology required to make such a thing. but then again, the way their sygna suits changed to match their partner pokemon was stuff out of his realm of knowledge as well, so who knows?

"i don't know much about space but i think it'd have to be made of a special material of some kind? maybe you can suggest having it be bulletproof as well."

but who's going to be shooting at them in space?

bulbasaur's SLEEP POWDER washes over an unsuspecting karrablast. apparently, the grass-type is aware of matias' search for specific pokemon. it makes dropping the pokeball on it a whole lot easier.

And that triggered his gag reflex, making him turn away as the sight of a Grimer, oozing sludge, was snailing its ass forward.

“Man, that stinks!” he blurted out as he pinched his nose.

Don’t take a breath, don’t take a breath, don’t take a breath…! he told himself in the back of his mind. But for how long was he going to hold his breath…?!

matias sniffs and sniffs but smells very little. maybe he's gotten used to the STENCH of having so many pokemon around him? who knows. either way, he looks over at the approaching grimer only to wave it on.
