“It’s a literal, living flytrap… what’s cute about that, I ask you?” he ribbed the other.

Plus, those wiggling arms… really… creepy. Like, in the slimy-going-to-caress-you-in-a-totally-NSFW manner. Why was his brain going in so many places at once?!

A blue-scaled Pokémon (Nidoqueen) was trudging through the undergrowth, but he let that one slide. Probably belonged to some nest or den, and he wasn’t one to separate older Pokémon from their families out in the wild.

Unless it was that fucking Glalie, then that was another story altogether.

And just like that, another Pokémon comes waltzing by, and good grief weren’t they talking about this one some time ago—

(No, wait, that was with someone else but still!)

He couldn’t help but wonder—and appreciate—just how the hell some people had the intestinal fortitude to go out and catch one of everything. Not to mention the damned-ass patience and the money to have enough Pokéballs to do that!

“Y’know,” he began as he looked over at Matias idly (and totally ignoring the Parasect that passed by) “…I want to understand, how do some people have the patience to try and catch one of every single Pokémon that exists. Hell, I had a hard time doing it with at least one of every Ice-type evolutionary line, because, obviously, the second voice in my head wanted some companions down at Shoal Cave.”

How does one have the fortitude indeed?

“I hold anyone who has the patience to do all that in awe. And respect, of course… because how can one single person feed so many Pokémon all at once?!”

(He was referring to Matias, of course. In a completely awed way.)

"as of this moment, i have a total of eight hundred and eighty-six pokemon in my possession. the sheer logistics of keeping all of them fed, active, and somewhat happy? ...kill me."

Because—what the fuck?

Over eight hundred mouths to feed?! Damn, man, how much did that cost the other in daily expenses?!

“…I am afraid to ask how many of those are Snorlax, you know,” he added with a cackle as a powerful stench suddenly hit his nostrils—not this shit again!

“Why the hell are the Grimer coming out now?!” he continued in a suddenly nasal-sounding tone, because holy fucking shit the Stench was overpowering—not to mention absolutely… damn.

It made his eyes water and caused him to physically recoil away from the Grimer.

As the Grimer took its fucking time slithering away on muck and goo, Lars had to hold in the laugh he was about to throw out because of the sheer insanity—

Once the Stench had mercifully faded, he let out a laugh.

“Damn, man, that many Jynx? You sure you’re not a chryssa glasgow fan?” he cracked with a grin on his face.

A smaller Illumise fluttered through the undergrowth, looking rather harried. He’d decided not to disturb the poor Bug-type.

“I have like… huh. Gimme a bit.”

He then began counting something on his fingers, trying to tick off just how many—

“I have what, six Rotom? And maybe six Eevees too?”

“Hey, I’m trying to get at least one of each form of Eevee, I don’t think I have them all yet. Plus I think I got all the Rotom forms already?” he countered, doing a quick run through in the back of his head.

Yeah, he pretty much had all the Rotom variants already, but wasn’t too sure about the Eevees yet because he had a feeling he was missing a couple…

Just then, a Gogoat came bolting right at them—and would’ve slammed into Lars had the Metagross trailing quietly behind them hadn’t used Telekinesis to lift the Grass-type into the air.

An angry bleating noise from the… was this a caprine? Or something?

The Gogoat didn’t look too pleased to be suddenly lifted off the ground, and tried to lash out at them with a Vine Whip, but a few moments later a burst of Psychic energy came ripping from the Metagross, slapping it upside the head.

“And apparently someone chose violence,” he cackled as the Gogoat began to be floated around, slammed a couple more times with Psychic as the Vine Whip crackled around wildly mid-air.

Once the Grass-type had been dropped to the forest floor, Lars doesn’t waste a moment and drops a Pokéball on its passed-out form.

“What? You never know if you need something that knows Milk Drink that’s not a Miltank…”

because matias might just have a spare for him. is it considered insensitive to consider them as spares? he's not too sure which is why he doesn't say it out loud.
