He trailed off, completely ignoring the fact that there was a Butterfree who was watching him hold up fingers as he counted off the evolutions he already had with him.

“…damn, minus two regular Eevee I’m like, what, missing two of their forms? You think I can find a Leafeon out here?”

Considering the wild, wild menagerie they’d been encountering so far, it was potentially possible, but it really depended on so many other outside factors…

anything is possible made even more realistic by the fact that they've been in the woods since january. it really has been that long.

"i think we just have to wait out here long enough."

matias allows the pair of wild pokemon to pass without intervening. consider it mercy from the elite four.

Hm.

He furrowed his brow.

“Need any of them? I already have a Venomoth of my own,” he gestured at the Venonat. The Cradily didn’t catch his attention either, so he just shrugged.

Either way, there was no Leafeon in sight… he was still waiting for that Pokémon to appear sometime. Anytime. Really.

"honestly? i can't even remember."

he could just pull up the pokedex app on his phone and check each encounter but matias doesn't have the patience for that. he just looks at each pokemon and tries his best to remember whether he already has one or not.

"just whatever calls at me, i guess."

whatever tugs at his heart.

like this steenee! he watches his bulbasaur tackle it with a TAKE DOWN before a pokeball consumes it.

Lars’s nose immediately wrinkles at the stench coming from the Gloom, and he turned to the other man.

“Uh… do Gloom really smell like that?” he asked, his voice suddenly going nasal because holy fucking shit the smell coming off the part-Grass-type was killing his olfactories.

matias almost misses the scolipede considering how still it is. like a scarecrow, even. but its POISON TAIL flashes, allowing him ample time to dodge before his bulbasaur's VINE WHIP drags it to the ground.

TAKE DOWN is what knocks it out.
