A blanket of snow had recently fallen upon Slateport Park, the weather anomalies that affected the region truly bringing winter’s frost to these usually tropical lands. It was a sight to see, that much was for sure, so much so that even Mars had paused on his way to the nearby offices of Piazza Oro Grande Bank and found himself staring at the pristinely white flakes that covered grass and trees alike.

But, was it really just the snow that caused him to pause?

Of course not.
[break][break]
In the distance, struggling to drag along the heavy sack that was its tail, was a Delibird – one that disturbed the snow and left behind it a trail. Something shimmering dropped from its sack, and when spotting it, the Persian by his side rubbed his head against the banker’s leg, almost as if saying they should go check it out.

Mars sighed, a miniscule cloud of condensation rising as he stepped off the sidewalk and onto the snow.

Christmas is not his thing.

It wasn't a secret, at least not in his opion and yet here he was task to try and protect these birds that help deliver toys and shit to kids or people. He honestly isn't sure how it all works all he knows is that he is rubbing his arms with his hot hands in order to help keep warm. On the sidelines were Salem and his new Amaura as they were watching over. Though while most were ahead a particular one seemed to be struggling with how heavy their bag was. Though they were refusing the offer from any help from the Ranger so all he could do was watch on the sideline. It was almost sad to watch. [break][break]

Though as footsteps could be heard through the snow the little dino pokemon is quick to run over and try to block the intruder. Though she might be a bit too small. Though all her yapping grabbed the Ranger's attention enough for him to see the stranger, "Can I help you?" Razz questions a tad suspicious of the stranger.

Despite the name he had given it, Mars’ own Delibird, Sigillaria, generally was tasked with using its sack for things much different from merely delivering gifts for Christmas (it was particularly useful when it came to stealing). Of course, he had seen Locke Jamison use such pokémon to make deliveries quite often, but Mars still found that completely relying on pokémon for those tasks and leaving them to their own devices could lead to… well, to situations like this one.

Although it seemed this particular Delibird wasn’t completely on its own, as made clear by the Amaura that soon stopped him.

”Oh, hey.” Mars smiled at the sight of the pokémon despite its apparent hostility towards him, Aurorus’ evolution line always having been one of his favourites. His attention turned to the ranger then – the Amaura’s likely trainer (and maybe also the Delibird?).

”Was just checking things out, your Delibird there looks like it's struggling.”
[break][break]
The response came smoothly, all while the Persian by his side continued to stare at the bird.

The Ranger's shoulders slump some as he hears a comment from his Meowstic about not being so hostile. There is a small groan be he tries as the other seems to try to be friendly. The Amaura allowing the stranger to pass but her stare does give off a very 'i'm watching you binch' vibe. She even does the little movement with her hoof for good measure. [break][break]

The half blind Ranger meanwhile looks to the Delibird and sighs a bit, "Yeah they were originally part of a group, but they have something heavy in there slowing him down," he crosses his arms, "And they seem to not want help," but the delibird seems to turn to both of them before trying to show off its muscles before it attempts again at it. [break][break]

"So we're just here to protect, have you seen others around?"

A Meowstic and an Amaura.

He’d call them good choices, being pokémon that also fit with his own preferences, but apparently the little dinosaur wasn’t as fond of Mars as his own pokémon of the species had always been. The Persian seemed to almost scoff at its antics, letting out a yawn that just so happens to display his sharp fangs right towards the Amaura.

However, Mars paid all this little mind, his attention remaining on both the Delibird and the ranger. ”No, not really… I just noticed this one when walking back to my office. They may have wandered off already.”

The Delibird seemed to almost flex then, as if to show them how strong it was, and Mars quirked a brow at the sight, the faintest of smirks tugging at his’ lips.
”I do have my own Delibird, though. Maybe she can convince it to accept some help.”

Mars doing a good deed? Surely not...

The fossil pokemon looks up at the Amaura clearly not amused by their attempt at an intimidation tactic. She seems about ready to show just how 'scared' she was of the bigger cat Salem is quick to come toward the small Amaura and calm her down. And in her opinion the Persian was lucky the Meowstic was there. [break][break]

"Could be, they were all going along a lot faster," Razz gives a small smile, "One of your own?" the ranger seems to ponder about it before giving a nod an shrug, "Why not can't help as he's clearly not listening to any human," the half blind ranger steps back to allow the other to do something. [break][break]

"Who are you by the way?" he decides to ask, curious.

A hand reached down to rest on the Persian’s head, scratching his ears in a way that caused him to purr as if pleased. The regal feline swayed his large tail then, almost seeming to smirk at the sassy little dinosaur.

”Yeah, I figure maybe one of its own might be able to convince it.”

Just like people, pokémon could sometimes be more likely to listen to their peers, but was Sigillaria as capable of persuasion as her owner was known to be?

That was soon to be seen, for right after saying this, Mars reached into his pocket to retrieve a Luxury Ball from which a friendly Delibird was released. She playfully saluted him and Razz, waiting for instructions from her owner.

”Sigillaria, would you convince our friend here to accept some help so he’s not late with his delivery?”
[break][break]
Glancing at the other Delibird, Sigillaria nodded, soon turning towards her fellow Delivery Pokémon and apparently beginning to explain why it should accept help with a series of squawks and chirps.

In turn, Mars looked at Razz, offering a hand along with a smile.

Seeing the way the ice pokemon was trying to teach the other a lesson Razz moves over grabbing hold of the mini Anaura and pulling her back from them. Something that definitely wouldn't have been easy if she were normal size, thankfully she is baby. Putting her down he lets the stranger try and help with his own Delibird, the main one seeming to cry and tell his whole over dramatic story as to why he must do this mission alone! Maybe... clearly they're fumbling. [break][break]

Meanwhile Razz can't help but stare at the hand offered to him. Why were people so about shaking hands, "Uhhh Razz Kingsman," he awkwardly introduces and shakes hand, the other might find his hands a bit warm despite the snowy weather.

The ranger’s miniature Amaura sure made up for its size in attitude, although the Persian’s taunting and teasing probably did nothing but encourage it.

Thankfully, Sigillaria had enough sense and diligence to ignore both pokémon and focus her attention on convincing her fellow Delibird, their squawking beginning to sound more and more like arguing between the two of them.

Sigillaria apparently decided that if she wasn’t going to convince the other Delibird with words alone, she’d do it by force; a sound slap knocking it to its senses and declaring her the superior bird to bow down to.

”Pleasure. Sigillaria, is that really necessary?” Mars sighed when letting go of Razz’s hand after a firm handshake, the odd warmth of the other’s skin being attributed to him probably having something like a hand warmer in his pocket. Kudos to him, in Mars’ experience, most rangers weren’t usually that well prepared.

Still, apparently the slap was necessary indeed, because although the Delibird rubbed its cheek, it finally reached into its sack as if to allow them to help it…
