What a fucking mess this all turned out to be.

Okay, wait a second, what the fuck was—he looked over at his companion (Guillermo Marceliño) and couldn’t agree more at their reaction.

‘What the fuck’, indeed, he thought to himself as he looked over at Boruta and shook his head. “Don’t do anything too risky!” he called out to the other Ranger, before looking over at where kyle lopez was addressing him.

“Wait, don’t tell me you’re—” he said in the Champion’s direction before the other seemingly dissolved into ash. Wait. Ash? What the fuck—?

You left me all alone in here, you asshat! He mentally screamed as he resisted the urge to smack a palm to his face and drag said palm down his face. Yeesh.

He couldn’t exert too much in the current situation—he wondered if it was going to be a good idea to break out of the…

What was it with people setting shit on fire and forgetting that fire can pretty much destroy most everything when left unattended?! He then realized he was still holding the orb of arctic energy with one of his hands—before eventually dispelling it. Slowly, slowly—

And then Lynette the Gardevoir let out a sigh. Good grief, was nobody going to catch a fucking break?!

The Gardevoir then began to use Life Dew, the better to heal anyone around the immediate area that needed healing.

An unexpected surge of triumph rose inside Locke as the trap took hold, at the same time it seemed more backup was arriving from behind.

This was it. They were going to catch him!

The ground ripped open beneath them as, without warning, gargantuan roots broke free from the earth. They struck out at Wobbu-Wobbu, sending him flying back with the force of a truck, unable to withstand the might of an Avatar.

And that’s what bryan delarosa was. Locke might not have been able to put a name to the massive deer that appeared before them, but it was unmistakably a legendary come to claim its chosen.

He watched the masked man be taken away, utterly helpless.

the sound of battle is the sound of ringing.

"uh oh." was all that kazimir could utter as he and his arcanine were blasted backwards by the xerneas' aurora beam that almost sent him and his dog flying back into the flaming brambles and tumbling into hte dirt getting dust and cuts all over them. "ow...ok...that's...that your gonna rue ya big...donkey." kaz groaned as the heat of the flames surrounding him gave him a sense of urgency as he remembered the words the deer said to him before blasting him. looking around he felt guilt well up inside of him as he returned his arcanine to its ball and he threw out his blastoise.

"ok...jolly roger let's clean up our mess. give us a good hosing yeah?" with a snap of his fingers the blastoise takes out its cannons and starts to spread a hydro pump into the flaming brambles to try and quell the flames around him. however it might take more than just the blastoise as these flames were made with a lot more of his own power added to it but if anyone could put a dent into it it was probably him as this was his fault, his guilt would push him to try and achieve this goal.

Soon their strange foliage prison became a flaming cage and Memo found himself backing up against Zuza in an attempt to stay out of the fire. The briars were being destroyed, but not fast enough; this, coupled with Kyle’s disappearance (again, what the fuck) was enough to send panic racing into his veins.

A large section of burning briars fell towards them and Memo batted it away, flames licking at the palms of his hands and his forearms. He grunted through the pain, pushing the collapsing branches away and trying to keep them off the injured Zuza; he honestly though they were going to die when the gentle hum of a life dew seeped around their feet. Moments later, Kazimir Wynter’s hydro pump sluiced through the black briars, dousing the flames and saving their butts.

Memo winced as he recalled an exhausted Zuza, turning to Lars. “Thanks,” he said, only sounding mildly sore as he watched the blisters form on his skin.

he stares down at xerneas, noting how hypocritical and egoistical the pokemon was in his head. maybe rocket was really right in blowing up its tree here in littleroot before.

before he lets judgement cloud his head, a yawn breaks his composure as soon as the thread has gone.

kyle drops on the back of his entei, caressing the fluffy mane on its back, as he pats the pokemon lightly. no other verbal cues was needed, and their connection was more than enough to give the pokemon the instruction.

the fire-type leaps away, getting away from the scene of the crime with haste.

there are other people here who can take care of the aftermath. if it's proven that he needs to do more for these kinds of situation in the future, at least he now knows and can use this incident as reference.

SETTING:NOVEMBER SET IN THE PAST

THE FINALE

The fires are quelled thanks to the combined efforts of everyone. The citizens of Littleroot cry out to their saviors, some cry tears of despair upon seeing their cherished homes destroyed, others of gratitude due to the fact the league so swiftly and handled the situation and saved lives in the process. [break][break]

Yet it wasn't enough, everyone there was able to agree on one thing and one thing alone. The one who enacted such a hateful and destructive crime would be brought to justice. The flames in their heart would burn for RETRIBUTION, yet their cries would go unanswered for quite some time as the league's resources were tied up into various different sources, the ranger redux events, the time distortions showing up in the near future and responding to some strange information on a man named father winter and his mysterious unknown-D. [break][break]

Months later every character who participated in this event and stuck around long enough to file official reports would be invited back later to reconvene and discuss all the information they had obtained to attempt and ascertain the true identity of this culprit. The only question that remained was. [break][break]

Locke added another loss to his mental scoreboard as he recalled Wobbu-Wobbu, debating if there’d be any space in the next town’s Pokémon Center, or if he’d be better off flying straight to Petalburg or Slateport. At least his Pokémon weren’t in any immediate danger, and nobody else seemed terribly hurt either.

No answer from Eris, it seemed; Hideo could recognize the sound of a Teleport, though he had no idea why she ran off like that.

So in her absence, that left Locke Jamison as the only person here he recognized. That Hideo knew was here, anyways. "I'm doing alright," he answered, "Had a close call with the fire, but after that, all's good."

Hideo let out a shiver: the cold night weather wasn't doing any favors for his drenched pajamas. He may have avoided getting burned, but it wouldn't be much help if he froze. And he was also out a place to sleep for tonight, and flying back to his camp or the treehouse was gonna take a while.

"What about you? It sounded like you were in the thick of it."

There was another question, equally pressing: "And do you know if there's anywhere to stay overnight nearby? My last place kinda got burnt."
