Melody hadn't really ever seen a galarian stunfisk before, wow they were just as derpy as the normal ones? She saw that the chef was talking about blindfolding people while they eat, what the fuck? HOW DID THIS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ESCAPING BINDINGS? THE LAST TWO MADE SENSE. WHATEVER IT WASN'T MELODY'S PLACE TO QUESTION THESE THINGS! [break][break]

She sent out her dragalge "Dragalge! Flip turn!" she ordered as the Pokémon launched it's attack forward and swapped out with another member of her team, her Herdier Maksim. his silvally struggles against the pokemon’s jaw, kicking and pawing until it frees itself in a mad dash to return. the pokemon that comes out afterwards is inconsequential.

“no clue,” he answers, unbothered by the riddle’s mystery. “do you think they’re related or from different perspectives?”

he casually lets his obstagoon out, hearing a grunt of pain as it steps into the stunfisk's snap trap. in the meantime, he snaps a photo of the poem before turning to the rest of the people in the room.

"i'm sure there will be normies that will also take on this challenge and open up discussion on the internet. we can just let them figure it out first instead of worrying about it if you want."

surely, curiosity of people will make them flock to each other in public space and get their collective minds to solve it together.

as the obstagoon tries its best to take its foot out, it hears a command from his trainer. "parting shot." it's enough to light up the obstagoon's eyes as it turns and faces the pokemon underneath it.

it snarls and growls, as if insulting it, before it returns back to its ball, escaping the entrapment.

"you know what's confusing? i don't get why we need to know about his kinks."

ring target - moves that normally have no effect will land on a Pokémon holding it.

Much like the other two, Katherine couldn't care less about how distraught and confused Melody seemed to be. These things didn't matter until they did, so it was best to tackle whatever issue they may or may not bring then... and not a minute earlier.

Katherine's pokemon, Vespiquen, is recalled just as smoothly as it's sent out. Despite the SNAP TRAP making a direct hit, it appears that the pokemon is utterly immune to its effects.

Unpopular indeed.

Although it makes me wonder if it’s something more than just that… he thought to himself as they moved onto the next floor—

And there it was again, another round of inscriptions!

He decided to leave the ‘pondering out loud’ business to his companions, as he quickly snapped several pictures of the new text before continuing with the program.

Seeing as he had a rather limited option for this particular challenge, it was time for him to bust out two companions—one that had the move that fit the situation, and another to swap into.

(At least he didn’t have to summon the very few “G”s that he had. Thank fuck for that.)

His Archeops was already out on the field when the attack snapped at the Pokémon and caused damage, but a quick U-turn allowed him to swap out—before switching out into another one of his Pokémon.

(Who just coincidentally happened to be William, again, but still.)

protective pads - these pads protect the holder from effects caused by making direct contact with the target.

He crosses his thick arms, but he seems friendly in face. "hey." The trainer does not speak much, but when he does, his voice booms deep and rich. "your pokemon have to strike my togedemaru three times without hurting themselves. got it?"[break][break]

The triangular markings are excited, pushing outward into spikes as the Togedemaru executes, SPIKY SHIELD.[break][break]

SOMEWHERE, fernando gets lost in the conversation. not literally. everyone’s speaking within measurable paces. the flow is natural and lends into itself.

it is kyle’s sudden reference to kinks that catches him abruptly. ignorance, under the guise of no earlier mention (conversation-wise), causes him to ask.

“who’s kinks?”

thankfully, Alexei Ivanov handles this floor by calling upon his toucannons. their BULLET SEEDs bleats against the togedemaru’s SPIKY SHIELD with a consistent thump.

perhaps his bird sanctuary does have some use.

The one time his… obsessive collection came in handy, and it was for this particular obstacle!

Who would’ve thought?!

Such a niche thing came in handy, he thought as he saw even more words around the room. Quickly snapping pictures of the new inscriptions, he pondered on their—

Wait a second, what?

A look of surprise flashed across his features for a few moments as he saw ‘plates’, but then again, that weird-ass chunk he had under lock and key—that was… was that a plate? Or something?

Either way…

He then held out his right arm, and a Toucannon—differently-colored from all the other Toucannon he’d lent to everyone on the team—alighted right there.

“You ready, Sam?”

A singular squawk in response.

Slinging the Toucannon on his shoulder, he then adjusted his posture, before, quite literally, whistling one note and watching as Sam literally opened fire, belligerent avian that he was—

at this point, his rotom phone starts to document things for kyle as he withdraws a pokemon from his pc to join the bandwagon. he maintains conversation, responding to Melody Miro when her worries start to pile up.

"you know what's going to happen? no one will be able to understand all of it, and when something supernatural happens again and it vaguely relates to this, they'll all go 'oh, i knew it from the start! how dare league not do anything about it'."

he stops to take out his toucannon and then vaguely gestures for it to follow suit among the others of its kind. it fires off its bullet seed like everyone else.

"at least this one's obvious and something we already know." he turns to FERNANDO SILPH and Katherine Fairburne, aware of their curiosity of plates beforehand, before going back to Melody Miro. "but yeah, let it bite our asses. no big deal."

as he casually downplays potential catastrophe this random building shows on inscriptions, he answers FERNANDO SILPH since no one seems to answer him. kyle is a good friend after all, unlike these other people.

"the one who mentioned 'ass'."

YOU ASCEND TO THE SEVENTH CHALLENGE; HOWEVER, THE NEXT FLOOR IS AN UNEXPECTED DEPARTURE FROM THE PREVIOUS TIERS. It is pitch black, save for a few candles scattered about the room. They illuminate the arena and reveal a Polteageist floating in its center. Its owner is obscured in the pitch— but when she speaks, the voice can be determined as feminine.[break][break]

From her chair, she speaks, "congratulations on climbing this far. the dark is comforting isn't it? you're concealed by prying eyes. anonymity is an oft forgotten blessing, as we've realized by way of the ultra beast war." She talks calmly, voice enunciating each syllable with refined clarity and tone. Any attempts to identify her will be futile, for the darkness around her seems... impenetrable. "your challenges will become more complex from this point forward. consider this to be the great filter of the fleur tea atelier."[break][break]

As they enter the next room Melody squints. "Why is it so fuckin dark?" she says as she put her hands to her eyes trying to use her makeshift hand goggles to see deeper into the room. Sadly it did little to really help her see. [break][break]

A feminine voice broke the silence of this darkness and told them all the challenges were about to get a lot harder. "That's all?" she answered afterwards being a little disappointed. She wasn't the most intelligent person in the world, but if there was one thing she was good at was getting creative during Pokémon battles to turn the tides in her favor. [break][break]

She stumbled around in the room until she came into contact with one of her teammates "Ok here's the plan, I already got this." she says whispering it to them all on what they can do. She then grins in the dark where no one can see her and tosses out a pokeball. "Klefki! Magic room!" she says as her prankster klefki acts with swift speed to go first and twists the dimensions of the room, creating a square block that prevents the items on the field from ACTIVATING THEIR EFFECTS.

"what's the point of whispering?" kyle asks. "i don't think they mind if we discuss it."

but even then, kyle felt like it was still as straightforward as it can get. while the moves required for it were niche, it was still straightforward given the requirements.

he takes out a pokeball, releasing the polteageist within it.

"teatime."

the pokemon comes out, like weird little curdled milk, solidified from spoilage, leaking out from its container, probably bagged milk. the ghost forces everyone to eat their berries, which would just be the other polteageist in this scenario.
