"my young chefs, when they come to the kitchen, the first thing they get is a blindfold. they get blindfolded and are asked to identify what they are tasting. if they can't identify it? they can't cook it. serve your pokemon to me, please."[break][break]

In a rather unorthodox way, he asks you all to send your Pokemon out. As soon as they are summoned, a GALARIAN STUNFISK attempts to SNAP TRAP them.[break][break]

as they approached the room and were challenged once again kazimir was quick to send out his blastoise out onto the field. that's when the trap was sprung and the stunfisk came out from under it. "whoa surprise attack! jolly roger shake him off!" the blastoise tucked its limbs into its shell and started to turn despite the jaws of the stunfisk digging into its shell as it began to spin rapidly slowly edging itself out of the trap.

The trap closed around Blastoise. Steel teeth scraped across Meg's shell, pale cuts through her dappled patterning.

"Great!" Zac said, grinning at the sight of his Pokemon engulfed in the Stunfisk. "We've got 'em right where we want 'em, ay Megs?"

Blastoise grunted, and her canons poped out, one facing backward and one forwards. "Rapid Spin!" Zac shouted, and the jets fired. The massive tortoise spun on the spot, tearing free of the trap and looking good in the process.

Zac sent out Blastoise

"...Eh?" Michiko made a surprised sound as the Galarian Stunfisk rocketed off the Tea Room floor, ensnaring her sweet and charming Bounsweet as it was floating daintily over to the other side.

She had been hoping that with two giant Blastoise already doing modern dance moves on the field that her little Amao might go ignored, but it seemed she had no such luck! "Poor Bounsweet," she said, then slapped her cheeks firmly with both hands, leaving them rosy pink. She couldn't get discouraged now! She had to fight, fight!

"Amao! Do your best!" The round, fruitlike Pokemon twirled its leaves like a propeller, generating so much force that its red body began to turn as well. The Stunfisk clamped onto it spun around erratically like a clothespin on a ceiling fan before flying off entirely and shooting across the room.

Bounsweet shot in the opposite direction, crossing the finish line on the far side of the battlefield. "Safe!" Michi cried jubilantly, making a sweeping, baseball-reminiscent motion. She reined herself in again, covering her smile with one hand.

Bounsweet used Rapid Spin!
Bounsweet escaped the Bound status!!

Once everyone had their items, the team moved onto the next floor were a chief snapped his utensil together. The sound made him flinch, sharp to his ears. Crimson gaze flickered around the room as he spoke, reading the inscription mentally before his attention turned back to the man when requesting for a pokemon.

A brow rose, feeling as though it was a trap. Reaching into his pocket, Maverick plucked one of his many two tone poke balls and releasing a creature. It was a pokemon that the man hardly ever used, but had a feeling its hard armer body might be of use. And as the forretress fully materialized with the others, a suddenly cry range out and a galarian stunfish snapped its jaws on their pokemon. A smirk tugged the edges of his lips. He knew it.

“Shake it off with rapid spin.” The bug and steel type retreated back into its hard exterior shell, pulling its horns into it as well for they would not get in the way. The forretress began to spin, slowly as first but swiftly picking up speed in a RAPID SPIN in the stunfish mouths. Surely, it would give up.

He crosses his thick arms, but he seems friendly in face. "hey." The trainer does not speak much, but when he does, his voice booms deep and rich. "your pokemon have to strike my togedemaru three times without hurting themselves. got it?"[break][break]

The triangular markings are excited, pushing outward into spikes as the Togedemaru executes, SPIKY SHIELD.[break][break]

Around the room, an inscription is written:[break]

"Oh yeah? Little game of volleyball, ay?" Zac said, stretching out his arms. "First we've gotta get rid of those spikes and then we can hit the beach."

Zac sent out a new Pokemon, and darkness pulled in from unlikely places. The 5 o'clock shadow on his cheeks. Maverick's backstory. The depths of Michiko's handbag. It all coalesced into a big-hatted ghost. "Give that little squirrel a bop will ya?" Zac asked, and Meg slunk across the floor (hat first).

She collided with Togedemaru, and the little cretin's spikes sunk deep into her protective pads.

"Ha! Not so fast ya rotund rodent!" Zac called. The enemy's shield popped, leaving it wide open for a counter attack.

Zac sent out Mismagius
Mismagius is holding the Protective Pads
Mismagius uses Phantom Force
Phantom Force lifts the protection of Spiky Shield
Protective Pads prevent damage from Spiky Shield + Iron Barbs

Michiko looked up from taking pictures of the adorably round Togedemaru. "Ahh, it is so cute," she said to herself, thrilled to encounter such a perfectly spherical Pokémon in the Tearoom. Michi loved Pikachu reboots and she loved circles, but electric-types didn't make good pets (in her opinion). She was happy to take photos, though!

"Amao, it is good not to get too close," she said to her Bounsweet as the formerly-round Togedemaru made itself very prickly. Thankfully, Zac Ramsay disabled the hedgehog's shield, so it would be easy to attack.

The leaves on her head spinning like propeller blades drifted across the Tea Room, passing the inscription about the plates. Two sharp-edged leaves scythed free from the top of her head and sliced towards the Togedemaru, hopefully battering it without Bounsweet needing to make contact.

Bounsweet used Razor Leaf!

"so just don't make contact huh? where's the fun in that though?" guess it couldn't be helped much to kazimir's dismay as he threw out another pokemon that had some range to it. at least the most dangerous part of the challenge was dealt with already, now they just had to push on through with force. at least that was more his speed.

"ok captain let 'em have it!" kaz called out as his roserade made a long awaited comeback to the battlefield and was quick to unleash a volley of magical leaves at the little iron mouse pokemon. nothing like a few sharp paper~~(leaf?)~~ cuts to keep on the pressure right?

It was time to move onto the next challenge. Crimson colored orbs shifted to the man, falling to the ground to see the electric and steel rodent whom stand before him. A brow rose, observing the triangular markings that shoot out from its body. They scattered in all directions, creating a spiky shield defense.

Suppose those protective pads they offered earlier would have helped. But luckily, some of his team mates snatched that items to help them out this round. Maverick reached into his pocket, plucking out a pokemon he felt like could do the trick.

The oddly colored camerupt materialized within seconds, steam slowly rolled from its peaks. “Use earth power.” Steam rolled from her nostrils, eyed filled with determination. Body took on a golden glow, feet lifted and began to beat against the floor. Soon, cracks formed and shot towards their opponent. Massive forms of earth protruded from the ground around the rodent, only to fall and slam into the ground. This should work.

They illuminate the arena and reveal a Polteageist floating in its center. Its owner is obscured in the pitch— but when she speaks, the voice can be determined as feminine.[break][break]

From her chair, she speaks, "congratulations on climbing this far. the dark is comforting isn't it? you're concealed by prying eyes. anonymity is an oft forgotten blessing, as we've realized by way of the ultra beast war." She talks calmly, voice enunciating each syllable with refined clarity and tone. Any attempts to identify her will be futile, for the darkness around her seems... impenetrable. "your challenges will become more complex from this point forward. consider this to be the great filter of the fleur tea atelier."[break][break]

by the sound of things their challenge was starting to heat up which only excited kazimir even more. "c'mon everybody, we can take this challenge down no problem. why don't we show them our war cry for example, like so!" kazimir throws out his kommo-o who takes a firm and rigid stance as it starts to beat its chest as its clanging scales echoed throughout the room to strike fear and a slight pinch of pain to its opponent.

When they entered the next room to face the next challenge, darkness was their to welcome. The pitch black room was comforting to the scarred man. If it wasn’t for the flickering light from the candies that were scattered, Maverick wouldn’t have noticed the nasty pokemon known as Polteageist floating in its center.

The challenged was placed and his team sprang into action. Despite not working together that often, it seemed they just knew what the other was thinking. Reaching into his pocket, the man summoned his next pokemon. His gaze fell upon the ghost type, smirking as the fire lion materialized before him. “Use Hyper Voice.”

Satharo took in a deep breath, chest cavity expanded. And once ready, a might roar erupted him his muzzle. Shock waves of sound propelled forward, his HYPER VOICE moving right pass the substitution and hitting the Polteageist hard. That should do it.

"Pretty dark in here, isn't it?" Zac said, squinting to see the enemy in the murk. The trainer was invisible, but their sentient tea set floated just visible between the candles.

The next room was as dark as her mother's backyard at night, and the woman who spoke to them was certainly not Michi's mother. Thinking it was a little scary, Michi shrank behind her teammates, grateful to have three men to protect her.

She was going to send out her Solosis to use Heal Block, but it was so difficult to find the Pokeball in her bag with Doublade still jangling around inside. "I can not see..." she murmured to herself, finding her smartphone and turning on the screen to use for light.

...and a good thing she did, or she would never have seen Zac Ramsay's sneaky Lunatone, who'd crept up on her in the dark and was trying to steal her dried persimmons. "Ahhhh!" she cried, voice lost in the clamor of Kazimir Wynter and maverick noah ryder's sound attacks. She yanked her bag away and clutched it defensively to her chest. "You, get away!"

She took off her slipper and tried to hit the Lunatone with it like it was a naughty child. The crescent Pokemon's eyes glowed in the dark as it used MAGIC ROOM in self-defense, rendering Michi's held item ineffective. Dodging her slipper, it floated away, carrying the Magic Room effect across the room towards the Polteageist.
