this place is pretty cool.

it's unlike any gym he'd seen on television, well-camouflaged somewhere within this maze-like gallery of artwork. aaron wanders aimlessly down a row of paintings, his pikachu puttering at his heels, his objective muddied by his attention span being tugged in every direction.

he stops in front of a wall of portraits featuring trainers and their pokemon. leaning forward, he squints at the placards, lips quietly forming the names of each in turn. aaron straightens up and strokes his chin, appraising the faces looking back at him. "these are the champs? huh."

Xander Belmont has impeccable timing or aaron has terrible luck. either way, kinda sus to lurk behind a man while he's trying to imagine his own portrait up on the wall. he turns to look at the owner of the dry voice, sizing up (what he assumes to be) his opponent with a once-over. he meets his eyes, his own reply a matching, deadpanned, "yeah."

but his stupid, boyish smirk takes root as he follows xander through the double doors. his pikachu pat-pat-pats her little paws against the hard floor as she scampers to keep pace with him, static jumping off the ends of her fur as excitement builds beneath electrified skin.

"cool place, bro." aaron looks down at his reflection in the porcelain floor. good thing there's no event with weird reflection people to kill the feng shui of this gym in the future.

while his pikachu makes faces at her mirrored image in the ground, aaron releases the two pokemon he'd signed up with: nidorina and feraligatr. to be honest, he has no idea if his match is a double battle or two single ones, but he figures it doesn't hurt to release the same amount of pokemon that his opponent already has out.
