Temporal Trespass

Sequera was mesmerizing to watch. She was one of the most nimble Water-types Josh had ever seen, and gave him the idea to keep his eyes out for one when traveling. He shook his head and buried those thoughts in the back of his mind; after being given a second chance by Howl's Pokémon, he had to remain focused until all these highly aggressive, red-eyed Pokémon had been repelled. The question was how many more waves of these could he and his team handle?
Ares seemed ready for more, dashing toward the Drapion that Malarkey severely weakened with his Bonemerang. He performed a sharp about face, whipping his burning tail into the already-dazed Poison-type. The seemingly battle-tranced Charmeleon reached for the knocked-out Drapion's mouth, with the intent to force said mouth open and exhale a Flamethrower into it. Before he could do that, though, the giant Pokémon vanished in a flash of light, similar to the trainers' other felled foes.
The divide-and-conquer strategy seemed to work well! Howl had taken down the other Drapion with Blais, and Ares had felled the other Sylveon with a potent claw swipe. The Charmeleon let out a triumphant roar and faced Howl, trying to express his perceived superiority to all the other Pokémon he was fighting alongside. For every Pokémon that fell, the timespace dome surrounding the two became more transparent. "Hey, come look at this...what was your name again?" Josh asked; he had never actually gotten his partner's name. "I can see the outside a little now! I think what we're doing is working!"
By now, Saber was breathing pretty heavily, his agility tested more than in Pokémon races. "Thank you so much Saber. You deserve a rest. Come on out, Twilight!" He swapped out the tiring Manectric for a fresh Absol whose horn-blade was about as reflective as a mirror: a sign she was ready for battle. She flinched upon being struck by a medium-sized electrical arc from the distortion. He hopped into the white Pokémon's jet-colored saddle and made sure to keep moving.
As Josh and Twilight returned toward the center of the spacetime distortion, three more giant, red-eyed Pokémon appeared in their own flashes of white light. One of them was a Magmortar that blipped in almost directly behind Josh! It was quick to raise its arm cannon toward the two and shoot a sizzling fireball their way at high speed! The second was another Magmortar that took aim at Malarkey. The third was a Dusknoir that was far larger than any of the Pokémon either had seen so far. Its single red eye was the most unnerving thing they had seen yet. The large phantom thrust its ghostly fists toward Sequera, both laced with the electricity of a Thunder Punch.
Ares let out a loud cry and sprinted toward his trainer, glowing with a brilliant light that exceeded the intensity of the temporally-displaced Pokémon the two were fighting. When the light faded, Ares had sprout the wings of a dragon from his back. His evolution gave him the speed to dash in front of Josh and Twilight, saving his trainer from a serious injury. "Ares...thank you." The Charizard didn't think much of the compliment; instead, he kept his focus on bathing the nearby Magmortar in sacred Dragon Breath. That was a type of flame even Fire-types could not shrug off.
