Dealing with an underwater operation of this magnitude would be a challenge on any given day, even if the fates happened to favor them. The explosives alone demanded the kind of attention you wouldn't want to find yourself lacking, at least not if you were keen on keeping your limbs suitably attached to your body.

Or your ship intact.

So when Dr. Kvar and Miss Webb come aboard, they are not immediately greeted by anyone. The deck is abuzz with the frantic movements of ship crew and cargo and pokémon, interspersed by the occasional shout and the distant screech of Wingulls above.

"Mr. Smee, I find it hard to believe that there are not enough supplies to strengthen the bulwark. We are departing in 20 minutes. I suggest you hurry."

The sailor rushes past the two newcomers, immediately drawing Skyler's attention to them.

The captain approaches on long, ground-eating strides, and a hand is extended towards both of them. "Captain Skyler Dross. I suppose you must be Dr. Kvar and Miss Webb." Her lips twitch with barely concealed amusement. "The experts." 

Given the nature of her arrangement with Rowan Wrynn , Skyler harbors her own suspicions. But she did not ask then, and she wouldn't now. Work was work.

A silver-hued gaze scans them, though no judgement is immediately forthcoming. "Welcome to the Sotally Tober. Cargo is ready for deployment as soon as we get into position." 

Given the state of Hoenn as of late, Skyler refrains from saying explosives.

"Doctor preferably, I didn't spend all that time in school for nothing," he gest, though considering the hours he grinded, the sleep he lost and more. Yeah he very much preferred for people to use his hard earned title thank you very much. He gives nod to his partner as he makes sure to side step the one called 'Mr. Smee' as he passed them by. Kvar getting a good look at to who their captain was and he gives a friendly smile. [break][break]

"Ah so you're Captain Dross," he greets with some surprise as he recalls the young woman from the Hoenn Star Tournament. "Given the nature of the battle we had should've guess this type of work would be up your alley," he comments as he glances around, "Is the ship ready then captain or are there still preparations to be made?"

"Last preparations are underway," she replies, casting a piercing gaze over the controlled chaos within the deck. Under her booted feet, the steady thrum of the ship's engine rises in intensity as if in response to Dr. Kvar's question.

Unfortunately, Elisabeth Fiorelli  goes unrecognized by the captain. Whether it is due to her own disguise or to Skyler's utterly inebriated state during most of Splashfest, will forever remain a mystery.

The sharp curve of Skyler's amusement at Elisa's comment, however, cuts through her previous expression like a knife through butter. "My own work, I'm afraid." A calloused hand pats the ship's railing affectionately. "Used to be a League vessel, did you know? Before - and during - the war." 

The irony is not lost on Skyler, especially not if her suspicions prove correct.

But that is neither here nor there.

Her name is called, and the two people overseeing the operation are swiftly kicked to the background of the captain's awareness. A short conversation later, she twists to face the Rocket members.

"Deployment in ten, soon as we're in position." The ship groans as its last connection to shore is severed. "Come along, we'll review the plan while cargo is readied. D'you have any naval knowledge?"

The bridge is an orchestra of movement and purpose, and Skyler its maestro. The captain fully at ease at the helm of the repurposed war vessel.

All the while, tons of steel and explosives begin their treck to designated locations.

"Nothing outside of stories I've read, though in the end my study is of Pokemon Biology, and a poker table," he jokes with a chuckle as he had joined the Captain to see the cargo. Its only when they return to the surface and the many glowing spots of red have him recognize the Tentacool with ease. Eyes narrowing with unease at the amount of them as it seems they don't care for the intruders within their ocean.[break][break]

He swears he hears a bending in the metal as he knows these pokemon want to bring them all to a watery grave. "Lovely," he grumbles as he tries to think, considering that their numbers might be too few in order to handle such a horde.[break][break]

"Captain, it might be useful to have your men release one of the cargo," he yells to skyler dross while he unleashes his small army of Magnemite, all of them unleashing electrical moves to try and do what they could against the Tentacool before they did their big plan if the Captain and Elisabeth would go with it.
