Between Team Rocket, Sea Mauville and Suicune, everything has been so complicated recently. "Having a moment to breathe is great, especially with you." His gaze shifted up to Adrian, his smile turning sweet. [break][break]







"How about you? The concert was really good." He'd been there for the entire set, cheering them on after Teravolt had taken the stage and only departing once they'd finished. "You looked super hot up there. I should go to more shows, gotta fight off your groupies after all." Rowan chuckles, obviously not actually jealous of them.

[attr="class","adrianwtw"]His fingers intertwined with theirs, Adrian smiles faintly. Moments like these are too often buried beneath Hoenn's frantic pace of dramas. They should have moved away to Sinnoh, or even Galar. Anywhere but here...[break][break]

But then, this was where they'd met.[break][break]

"I've been doing alright," he admits reluctantly. His thoughts centered around the meteor increasingly, how could they not? It was one of his greatest fears made manifest, and they were all vulnerable to it. Putting that out of mind was no small task. Sometimes the band helped, or the vices, but in the end it took its toll.[break][break]

"I felt hot up there, and tonight's no better." He allows either arm to fall to his side, resting his forehead against theirs, nostalgic and enthralled with the feeling.[break][break]

"You're always welcome backstage. You're VIP."[break][break]

Rowan didn't need a backstage pass to know that, though.[break][break]

"How's that project of yours coming along?"

[attr="class","rowwtw"]"It's..." Rowan let out a small sigh, probably more than enough for Adrian to tell. "...challenging." One obstacle after another, seemed as though the trouble would never end. "Once it's over, we're taking a vacation. I don't want to be buried up to my neck in work when that meteor comes for us." His amber eyes gazed into their own, a smile on his face. "I want to be with you, if the world is ending."  [break][break]

"How about you? Bonding with Howie going well?" Although Howie had belonged to an Adrian, it wasn't this one, which meant there were barriers to be broken and patterns to be learned.

But he couldn't stand to break Rowan's heart by betraying the confidence he placed in Adrian, by suggesting he would do anything but.[break][break]

"That sounds pretty sappy out loud, Row..." Adrian feels his arms tightening their weave around Rowan.[break][break]

There would be a middle path for him to navigate, between the brambles and briarthorn of destiny and fates.[break][break]

"It's like she's the same dog... But she knows we're not really the same people." She had most of the same mannerisms, responded well to him, and yet there were times he caugh her facing a well with a look of anguish. There were lines forming under her eyes that grew more pronounced over time. As if the grief they shared was changing her anatomically, not that he noticed.[break][break]

"She's better off here, at least." Or so he'd recite.

[attr="class","rowwtw"]"You think that's sappy?" Rowan smirked, gently prodding their chest with a finger. "I hear a lot of people are getting married, cause of this whole meteor thing. Gavin and Temp are one of 'em." He'd let that linger on their mind where-ever Adrian would let it, offering a small wink before sticking his tongue out. [break][break]


"Yeah, she has you as a comfort here." He nodded, his tone slightly somber now. "Doesn't have to go through her loss alone." Rowan couldn't imagine what it'd be like to lose Adrian, and he hoped that whatever killed them, would kill him too.
