"I didn't expect there to be so many Swirlix and Slurpuff around here," Julia said. She laughed a bit. "They remind me of my Swinub, Snuffles. Once she smells food, she is on it. I have to keep my supplies tightly sealed when she's around."

[break][break]Julia, too, watched as Soot kicked aside a hapless Binacle, mistaking the poor thing for a rock. Luckily, the Two-Handed Pokémon didn't seem hurt, just understandably angry about being knocked aside. Julia stroked Soot's head as his trainer reprimanded him.

[break][break]She watched a few more stars shoot through the sky, dragging tails of light behind them. "They're usually covered in a rock shell, right?" Julia asked about the Minior. "I bet that protects them." Granted, it was also the reason they came crashing to Earth in the first place, but at least it kept them from burning up in the atmosphere!

[break][break]Chester's caw below alerted her to the presence of another wild Pokémon. This time, it was... "Oh!" It was a little baby Soot! The Tyrunt was looking at her much larger evolution with awe. How cute! Julia tossed a Poké Ball its way.

Soot was pouting, not that the trainers on his head could see him pouting at being scolded. Though he gave a happy purr at the pet of Julia, she understood!

As Julia talked about Minior, Pluto nodded his head. "Yes, they're usually in the hard rock shells, but it does burn up. So when they land it can be kind of dangerous for them." Which was why he wanted to try and help!

Spotting a baby Soot, Pluto clenched his chest. How adorable! "Oh, well." he snorted. "My husband gave him too me, and his name was... Horror, and I was not about to keep that name. Does this look like a Horror to you? No, he's my little Soot baby!"

Julia nodded at Pluto's explanation of how Minior's shell burned up. "Putting them in a Poké Ball is supposed to help, right?"

[break][break]She could feel the indignation rising from the Tyrantrum below her at being called Pluto's "little Soot baby." On the one hand, that was adorable. On the other hand, Julia wasn't too keen on the idea of being atop an angry Tyrantrum.

[break][break]"More like your big Soot baby," she said, scratching the crown of spikes above Soot's eyes. With a grin, she added, "And he's probably a horror to anyone who tries to hurt you. What a good boy."

[break][break]With the Tyrunt safely in one of Julia's Poké Balls, the trainer declared, "In that case, I'm gonna call this girl Ash."

[break][break]As Julia continued watching the stars, so, too, did Chester below. His middle and left heads were turned toward the sky while the right kept its eyes closer to the earth. Something colorful caught his attention, and he turned his right head to see an Archeops running into view. The First Bird Pokémon came to a stop and stared at Chester, who also turned his middle head toward the newcomer. His left head kept its eyes on the sky, but it did spare the Archeops a few interested glances.

[break][break]With excited high-pitched chirruping, the Archeops raised its winged arms and hopped back and forth, flapping its wings without any lift. Chester's center head squawked in greeting. Soon, spurred on by the promise of a new friend and a desire to compete with a fellow bird Pokémon who was better at running than flying, the two Pokémon were running back and forth across the crater-marked mountain.

[break][break]Julia looked down at the commotion and smiled... then giggled when she noticed that Chester's left head was still looking at the stars, bobbing along while the other two heads focused on piloting the body. That silliness aside, it was a really sweet scene, and it looked like Chester was having a lot of fun! There was no way she wasn't going to try to catch that Archeops now.

Pluto quickly pet the t-rex to soothe him, which he calmed the minute Julia also complimented him. Now giving some grumbling purr of a noise as he settled- well, until something teleported onto his nose. Going cross eyed trying to see just, what was it?!

A little togepi!

Pluto did a mini panic and reached for it, grabbing the little egg pokemon up. "Little one! How did you get up here? Oh goodness, no no, lets get you in a ball and release you somewhere safer." A ball pressed to the egg quickly, as he looked at Julia.

"Seems we're just a magnet today."

Julia smiled at Soot's growling purrs. She wanted to call them cute, but she didn't know if Soot would be too pleased with that.

[break][break]"Oh!" she exclaimed when something appeared in front of them. "Aww, hey, little cutie!" Pluto acted fast, picking up the Togepi and putting him in a Poké Ball for safekeeping.

[break][break]"Seems so, yeah! I didn't know Togepi could do that."

[break][break]With that settled, Julia and Pluto were free to watch the stars again... at least until Julia heard what sounded like fighting down below. She looked around for the source, but all she managed to see was a poor Shelgon tumbling toward them, its shell scratched and scuffed. With an angered squawk, Chester ran off to chase away whatever had been attacking it.

[break][break]"Poor thing..." Julia muttered as it struggled to get back to its feet. It only took her a moment to decide to throw a Poké Ball at it, determined to get it somewhere safer.

"They can do just about anything, with that metronome move. Or who knows? Something could have teleported it here." He just wanted to make sure it was kept safe.

Both Soot and Pluto's attention turned to look at was happening below. Soot gave a low snarl that vibrated the area below, which uprooted a startled lunatone. Pluto stared at it, he had missed the first one... he tossed a pokeball quickly before it got away.

Patting Soot to point them back to the stars, Pluto gave a gentle sigh. "The stars can tell so much, but right now everyone's angry at them.. it's sad."

Julia was partially forced to look down due to Soot's head tilting that way. A Lunatone popped out of the ground, and Pluto tossed a Poké Ball at it.

[break][break]"Awesome, now we both have one," Julia said. "It's perfect for you, too."

[break][break]Julia hummed thoughtfully and looked back up at the sky. "I don't think they're mad at all the stars," she said, giving Pluto a reassuring smile. "Besides, the meteoroid isn't really a star, is it?" Of course, even she knew the answer to that one. Shooting stars weren't really stars; they just looked like them from a distance.

[break][break]A high-pitched squeak down on the ground caught her attention. Oh, it was a Marill! And it looked like it wanted to play! Chester was quick to comply. It was too cute; Julia just had to try to catch the little Aqua Mouse.

[break][break]"So what kind of stuff can the stars tell you, anyway?" Julia asked Pluto.

Pluto listened, but he could tell what she was doing. Though she was now opening a can of worms. Turning to face her better and be able to guide her hands. "We live in the stars!" Smiling, he would explain.

"Your birthdate is written in the stars. Like your zodiac, it can tell many things." Looking towards her, he greened. "I bet your sign as water in it." A wink, how could he know that?

Pluto could be very mysterious. "If you know your time and birthplace, you can learn a lot." A chuckle. "But the stars can be used as maps. It shows us space, which we are apart of. The galaxies so far away... places we haven't been."

Julia wasn't at all bothered by this can of worms being opened in front of her. In fact, she seemed to welcome it. Pluto seemed excited to share his knowledge of the stars, and Julia knew that a great cure for sadness was indulging in your passions.

[break][break]She made a little "o" with her mouth when Pluto predicted that her star sign had water in it. "Yeah, I'm a Cancer!" Krabby totally lived in the water! "How'd you know?" She wasn't huge into astrology, though she did like checking her horoscope for fun when she read the morning news. But a relative stranger being able to (almost) identify her star sign had her more curious than ever.

[break][break]She gazed into the night sky as Pluto explained how the stars could be used as maps and show far-off galaxies. "How do you use them as a map?" she asked.

[break][break]Down below, Chester raised his right head in alarm. He squawked and ran toward a Morgrem skulking around Julia's campsite to chase it off. Why were so many wild Pokémon trying to get to his trainer's stuff?!

Pluto gave her some jazz hands as she asked how he knew. "I'm psychic." He teased her, but he could have been! Who knows, he wasn't letting out his secrets! Lips were sealed.

"The position of the stars can show you where you're at. Sailors use the stars back before compasses and maps to find their way around the waters without getting lost." He would point to the Big Dipper. "Find a constellation in the direction you're going and follow."

Soot gave a loud snarl as Pluto finished his sentence, looking up to meet another... oh that was another t-rex. His face blanked, soon grabbing a feather from Soot's beard. "Don't." He hissed, not needing him to freak out. But he went rigid, growling, waiting for the other threat to make it's first move.

It yawned, sniffing at them, before moving on it's way.
