It's too dangerous to fly in his seaplane to scope out the area, not in this kind of weather, on this particular kind of route.

Hoenn's own 124 was a maze of jutting crags and rocks sneaking from the ocean surface, risky for even the experienced sky and seafarers without the rain that pours with a vengance from dark clouds.

The last thing they needed was for someone else to get lost within its labyrinth. Angelo was not foolish.

Standing upon the small island that houses the lone pokécenter, Angelo zips his leather jacket up to his scarred neck. It does little to shelter him from the bitter edge of the torrential rain but it's what he's got.

There's no time to fuss over a change of attire. Not when there's a kid out there, lost after fleeing Sootopolis's crisis.

“Take this. Just in case. It can get confusing to navigate in there,” he holds out a spare radio for Raziel Beckett to take. “You got everything?”

On the back of his waiting Gyarados sits a plump Sealeo with a bandana tied around its chunky throat, embroidered with the name 'Watson'. Its left flipper is bandaged up after being found washed up on the shore, disorientated and minus one young trainer.

It hadn't stopped 'arfing' until Angelo had let it flop along after him from the center. With an anxious quiver of his whiskers, Watson looks with forlorn eyes into the squall.

They're not the only ones eager to see the kid found safe.

With goggles in place and the radio Angelo tossed him now set up he gives wave of thanks. All the way he is looking at. A map his Rotom phone was showing him about the winds and tides. Razz had been studying them since they got the info about the missing kid and Razz was going to make sure they found them. [Break][break]

"Based off that information I was able to gather, most likely direction the tides would've naturally taken them is south east, parents said there is a possibility they were with their Finneon, but considering the size of them well...." he drifts off not liking the chances but that's why they were looking. [Break][break]

"Just radio in if you have questions!" he calls to the older man before he clicks his tongue for his sharpedo to take off. Up above Salem is riding Shamrock from above to see if he couldn't have a better view from above.

They'd poured over the information together, ruminated over the details of the tide and wind direction. Absorbed details from the concerned parents, their child lost at sea amongst a maze of rock.

Now they set off into the depths of a temperamental storm. With but their pokémon, data and combined expertise - each other - at their backs.

Plus one worried Sealeo who'd been parted from his dear child companion.

“We'll stick close together but radio in if you find anything.” It wouldn't do them well to get separated. “If we can't find anything after combing the South-East, we'll take the South-West. Could be they found refuge on the rocks, if the tide didn't push them into Eastern waters.”

Angelo pulls down his goggles and gives Raziel Beckett a parting pat between the shoulder blades before heading to his Gyarados - a silent gesture of togetherness.

With their lost target's Sealeo already aboard, Angelo hops on and releases a Flaffy from the confines of a pokéball. Tail lighting up like a lighthouse beacon, the pink lamb shines its beam through the darkness of the storm.

Aquila, the Pidgeot who'd once raced against Shamrock and Salem both, joins them in the sky. Her keen eyes flanking the opposite side of their small party.

“Let's go.”

Razz gives a simple nod to the other and takes off on top of his Sharpedo, figuring him one of the quickest of his water pokemon. One that was easily rideable too as they would search the seas. For what almost felt like an hour there didn't seem to be any signs of possible human life. Outside of sailors on their own boats doing their own nothing. [break][break]

It isn't until Salem flies closer and him and Shamrock circle around Angelo as the cat starts jumping up and down pointing in a certain direction. The psychic pokemon thinking they might have found a little something.

Waves crash, wind howls and rain slams down upon the small group, soaking them through. Sea and sky show no mercy, not even to those desperately seeking with good intentions.

Usually Angelo thrives in the midst of the storm. In the rush of challenging nature, skirting on the edge of conquering and surviving. But today it's a particularly brutal combination.

They push on in spite of it - because of it, even.

There's a lost kid out in this mess, after all.

Through the disorientating swirl of the rain caught up in unpredictable wind currents, Angelo's gaze snatches hold of Salem and their airborne companions behind the lens of his goggles.

With a guiding pat on his Gyarados, he makes over towards them, calling out to the Meowstic over the mournful whines of the tempest. “What've you got, buddy?”

Beyond them lies a realm of danger. Mountains of rock jut violently out of the ocean, stretching into the darkness like two jagged valleys. Within the middle, waves crash against the edges as if trying to eat away at the land.

He turns to Raziel Beckett and nods.

It's death valley if he ever saw one, wearing caution plain on its face, no roses of deception needed.

Was there any doubt they were going in?

With the trainer's attention Salem tells Shamrock to lead the way. Jagged rocks coming to sight forming a valley of their very own which had him worried. There was an ominous wind to it all as Razz raced forward on his sharpedo as he waited for Salem to show off what he saw. It wasn't too far in where smoke could be seen. [break][break]

It was weak but it was there. [break][break]

"Good work I'll take it from here," he tells the shark, having been trained for this situation, waits for the count of three before it dives down while Razz jumps up. Taking off into the air like a jet with the use of one of his explosions. Once up Shamrock flies down to catch her trainer for better travel. Razz at ease using the ability seeing how Angelo already knew his true nature. [break][break]

Once on the Flygon, the Ranger starts drifting down to make it toward the possible fire that had was most likely giving off the smoke.

“Show off,” follows Razz as he launches himself into the air with a pop of flame, a teasing grin chasing after him from the man atop the Gyarados.

Neither seem to hesitate against the formidable valley of squalls that looms before them, Angelo whistling for Aquila to descend from the dark skies to pick him up. He swings onto her back, an arm looping around the Flaffy's middle as he mounts the Pidgeot. It sits in front of him as they fly after Razz.

“Keep an eye out for any caves, they might've found shelter from the storm!”

Back on the water the Gyarados and the lost child's Sealeo continue on, the moustached pokemon letting out little borfs, calling for his trainer.

Wind howls something fierce as they push onwards between the two cliff faces, as if the storm has become trapped in the valley and whipped into something louder and deadlier in the confined space.

Light from Flaffy's tail points up at the sound of crunching, catching sight of some rocks falling towards them that had gotten dislodged from the cliff face. Hopefully giving both of them time to weave away.

“You still with me, Razz? Stick close!” Angelo calls as Aquila swerves out of the way.

With the crackling Salem takes notice. Though rather than taking the risk of Shamrock getting hit Salem's eyes and ears open and with a PSYCHIC blast to knock back any coming at them. Razz to this day isn't sure what kind of infinity energy she infused Salem with back in that tower but it made dealing with stuff like this simple. [break][break]

"All is good," Razz calls back before Shamrock starts getting lower toward the ground for a better look. The flames from a possible SOS fire now in site as the younger man waves a hand toward Angelo to come down and look with him. Seeing as it might be a good first clue, unless the other possibly found something else.

Together, bathed in the guiding glow of Flaffy's tail lamp, he and Razz soar towards a crevice in the rock face. Water laps dangerously at the lip, splashing puddles into the threshold.

Through the cave mouth, obscured by thrashing rain and dark skies, drifts a tiny trail of smoke.

“Clever kid,” he mutters to himself as Aquila hones in, their descent slowed and careful through the force of the squall. Eventually, Angelo's boots hit the rocky surface, water splashing against his soaked clothes.

“This looks promising.” He turns to Razz, placing the Flaffy down so it can stand close to Salem.

Launching himself off the Gyarados's head, that had been lifted to allow access to the ledge, the lost child's Sealeo flops beside them, eyes hopeful.

It's then that Watson frantically arfs, whiskers twitching, as he lumbers further into the furthest reaches of the dark cave before anyone can stop him.

“Sounds like he found something. Come on.”
