A CONSTANT BREEZE HOWLS OVERHEAD, you and your team would realize, as you split up and search for any clues. As the weather seems to turn you feel an air cold like steel brushing against your skin where it's exposed. It's unnatural weather for Hoenn's clime...[break][break]

Elinor Anderson presses onward to the abandoned mines, which were closed down years ago, though for reasons unknown. As they approach with their Hisuian Braviary, hoping to investigate for clues, they are instead met with grim, uninviting darkness. Even trying to navigate under the wooden barricade leaves you feeling vulnerable and claustrophobic. You realize that you have perhaps encountered a dead end...[break][break]

...And you would be proven right as a swarm of golbats come from out of the cave intent on harrying your progress, held at bay only by the pokemon at your side. They retreat further into the caverns, but you can still hear their wings flapping irately. The experience leaves your heart racing, and gives you cause to turn around.[break][break]

Elsewhere at the Hangman's Tree, Callan Young invokes the power of haze to gain the power of sight, that they might see the telltale wisps of an ephemereal haunting. But even as the trees and bushes disappear behind a dense fog clinging to the forest floor, Callan would not gain the clue he is looking for. He is reasonably confident, then, that wisps are not present on these campgrounds...[break][break]

Laurence Anderson walks into the proverbial den unwittingly, moseying about where he's unwanted. The floorboards creak and groan as the door swings open easily, and the interior proves more drafty than one might come to expect. Surrounding him are the worldly possessions of the former Scoutmaster, left untouched. There's a noticeable sign of struggle around the desk—pens and papers scattered about, and a drawer left hanging ajar. But the Odd Keystone reveals nothing more than his eyes can already tell...[break][break]

While moving around the perimeter, Killian Decker would notice that some of the tents remained open, their flaps tossing in the wind when it billowed over the hill. Upon looking over the cliffside, he gets a sense of vertigo, realizing such a fall would be more than enough to do someone in. Cautiously creeping around, he would notice the greatest clue any of them had yet uncovered...[break][break]

You find what is more comfortably described as a 'thick club' lying about near the scout's tents, no more than a foot in length, though it's passing strange as you're intimately aware that Cubone don't roam these woods. You consider the possibilities of what left this behind as the overcast sky grows ever more turbulent above...[break][break]

AS THE TURBULENCE GROWS STEADILY, those of you remaining outside must consider taking shelter from the coming storm. Time and the elements themselves work against you, harrying your progress...[break][break]

From within the scoutmaster's cabin, Laurence Anderson calls on the insightful eyes of a PORYGON-Z, a characteristcally flawed specimen with a faulty software upgrade. For a time its assistance seems even less helpful...[break][break]

Outside, Elinor Anderson and Killian Decker make their own headway. While the former fails to secure any signs of fingerprints, they should not be discouraged. Not far from them, Killian Decker lights up the vicinity with a WILL-O-WISP that stretches over the area. Spectral flames hover over the grounds and tents, illuminating their contents. They're both able to see now that the tents are tattered and torn in many spots, especially the ORANGE TENT...[break][break]

Prodding around the tent further would reveal a DESTINY BOND DECK of cards halphazardly strewn about the tent's floor, THE HANGMAN card resting face-up amidst the pile. He is able to deduce that the campers were playing with these cards before...[break][break]

Back at the cabin, Laurence Anderson would watch as his Porygon-Z went HAYWIRE processing INCOMPATIBLE DATA, its software update causing its body to begin whirring and gyrating erratically. The sounds of its almost pained expressions were disturbing, if nothing else...[break][break]

An astute observer might glean some evidence from this, considering the unique disposition of the virtual species...[break][break]

Callan Young, though persistent in his investigation, manages to overlook the shifting of the tree limbs above—discounting it as the byproduct of growing turbulence in the area. But he is not wholly ignorant to his surroundings, as he manages to uncover a DEPLETED CAMERA resting against the foot of the tree, mostly intact. Pressing the power button does nothing, as the device requires a repleted power source to achieve intended functionality...[break][break]

Back at the cabin, window shutters and even the door BANG LOUDLY IN THE WIND, enough that you'd think someone had slammed them shut in an outrage. But Laurence Anderson reminds himself that he is alone in this place... Or at least ought to be, unless his comrades had returned...[break][break]

But that's when Laurence Anderson hears a dull thud followed by a shrill, hollow scraping sound creeping closer... and closer... AND CLOSER...! Realizing something sinsister is upon him, Laurence must escape to a new ROOM to elude this entity—before it finds him![break][break]
