Recalling that Mars preferred to sit and eat instead of walk with food, Zev gestured to a small metal table with two stools. They were not the luxurious seating arrangements a wealthy man like Mars would typically use, but such accommodations were common at food stalls in the Night Market. Zev took a seat on one of the stools, his Lycanroc assuming a sentinel's position beside him.[break][break]

Zev sensed, too, the end of their conversation. That was fine with him. Allowing customers to steer the course of conversation was a skill he'd learned tending bars, and he used it now with ease. "Do you have any specific plans for after?" he asked.[break][break]

He meant after the League had teleported the meteor away. Assuming the plan worked.[break][break]

Out of the corner of his eye, Zev watched a Forretress float past. A low whistle from him prompted Luna to pounce upon it. A quick TACKLE brought the Bagworm Pokémon to the ground, allowing Zev to capture it with a Poké Ball.

Ever busy as Mars is, eating on-the-go is not a rarity for him. He has never enjoyed it. That much, Zev Harcourt is right about, and so the hitman’s decision to take a seat while they talk is both appreciated and welcomed. He can’t stay for long, so might as well enjoy the meal while he’s here, right?

Mars takes a seat and Dollar sits right next to him, not seeming too preoccupied with his master’s meal.

He knows it doesn’t really matter to Zev, that it’s just small talk and nothing else, but Mars does happen to have quite a lot planned. Personal plans, plans for his businesses, and also plans for Team Rocket. He’s not betting on the world ending.

”Hmm. I think the most important of all is that I plan to take a trip to Sinnoh… Assuming the Triad’s barrier fades after the meteor is dealt with, that is.”

There’s a smile there, although the reasons for it remain a mystery.

The thought of the dome-like barrier going down makes Zev sigh with longing. The past few months had been exceedingly hard — not just on his business but on everyone who dealt with the import and export of physical goods. If the barrier persisted into the next year, many stores would have to close, perhaps for good. Howling at the Moon had managed to pivot and stock its inventory entirely with local alcohol, but many customers had complained during the past few months over the lack of their favorite foreign brands.[break][break]

"One can hope," the hitman said aloud.[break][break]

His Lycanroc suddenly perked up, alerted to the arrival of a Klefki floating into the vicinity. Luna leapt from Zev's side toward the Key Ring Pokémon and TACKLEd it to the ground. After a short scuffle, she returned with it in her mouth and offered it to her master, her tail wagging. With a short chuckle, he tapped an empty Poké Ball against the Klefki's inert body.[break][break]

Turning back to Mars, Zev dipped a skewer into his cup of soup and commented idly, "A trip to Sinnoh sounds nice. I could do with a change in scenery for a little while." After all, Zev knew exactly where Caleb was now and could ask Isaac Merlo to keep an eye on him while Zev was gone for a few days.

”Ha. Couldn’t we all?” Mars chuckles at the mention of a change of scenery, because as much as living in Hoenn had been his own choice, there’s a part of him that misses travelling – even if most of his trips were for business purposes.

Mostly, he misses the freedom to be able to do so if he wishes, and he also misses not constantly having to deal with the effects of the dome’s presence (both as POG Bank’s CEO and one of Rocket’s underbosses).

The implication is clear, and Mars feels no need to clarify, simply enjoying his food and moving on with the conversation. At one point or another, an Electrode rolls into view, causing concern to a few pedestrians. Dollar is quick to put it to sleep after a single command from his trainer.
