Zev had heard of jayden cross, of course. Not only was the other man an Admin for Team Rocket, but he'd been a member of the crime syndicate in Kanto, too. But it seemed to Zev that time in Hoenn had changed most of the self-styled 'old guard'. Gavin had been no different, nor had Theo.[break][break]

In Jayden's case, at least, Zev did not know what kind of man he'd been before leaving Kanto. As such, Zev held no expectations for their meeting.[break][break]

He arrived at the designated location, the patch of land between Fallarbor Town and Meteor Falls. He was dressed in his usual uniform for Rocket work: a tailored black suit and matching tie, white button up, black leather gloves.[break][break]

A nod of the head was his only greeting. Jayden's comment was odd, though. "I'm not here because you asked."[break][break]

Zev turned his unfeeling gaze toward the bunker's entrance. While the exterior was worn and dirty, it seemed that the structure itself had not fallen into disrepair. Team Rocket could make it work.[break][break]

He removed a Pokéball from his belt and approached the door. "Let's make this quick."

The base's interior was more rundown than Zev had expected. Layers of dust kicked up as he and Jayden walked around the first large chamber. Spiderwebs had amassed in the corners of the room. A couple of hallways without doors led deeper into darkness.[break][break]

Zev heard the echo of something scampering, too. With a flick of his wrist, he released his Seviper from her Pokéball. The enormous serpent coiled in the center of the room, her long tongue flicking in and out to taste the air.[break][break]

"Go find what's lurking around," he ordered. Silently, she unwound herself and slithered off to investigate.

As soon as Jayden threw daggers above Zev's head, Zev took two steps back and raised his arms to shield himself from whatever was above him. A dead Spinarak thudded to the floor at Zev's feet, Jayden's knives protruding from its head and abdomen.[break][break]

Zev had to admit: it was impressive. His face did not betray this thought, however, as he nodded at the other man. "Thanks," he said.[break][break]

Sounds of fighting from down the hallway drew his attention. He started off after his Seviper and Jayden's Weavile, calling back over his shoulder: "I'll check our Pokémon. Get the generator running."[break][break]

The darkness of the corridor made it difficult to navigate, prompting the hitman to turn on a small flashlight he kept in his pocket. In a room much larger than the first, he found the Seviper and Weavile locked in battle with a small pack of Raticates and Rattatas.[break][break]

"BRUTAL SWING," Zev ordered his Pokémon, whose long tail smashed into the rats in a sweeping arc.

The distant hum of the generator brought the bunker to life. Lights flickered on, starting in the main room and cascading down all hallways and other rooms — and stayed on, too.[break][break]

Zev watched as his Seviper and Jayden's Weavile took out the remaining wild Pokémon with deadly precision, leaving the bunker quiet once more.[break][break]

Upon returning to the room where Jayden waited with the generator, Zev said, "All clear down there. Let's sweep through the rest of the rooms. Is there anything specific we should keep an eye out for?"[break][break]

The Admin had mentioned recordings. Raising his gaze to the ceiling now that the lights were all on, the Beast looked for devices they may have missed upon their arrival.[break][break]

"Cameras or other security measures?"

Zev remained in the doorway to the other room, watching Jayden as the Admin fiddled with the computer found there. Zev wondered, briefly, how long ago the bunker's original owner had it built, if it had already been abandoned 'for a while'.[break][break]

But it didn't matter. What mattered was completing the job.[break][break]

"I'll sweep the rest of the rooms, then."[break][break]

With his Seviper at his side, Zev left Jayden to scour the computer for information. The bunker itself was not as large as the hitman had expected; only three other rooms greeted him upon inspection. A kitchen boasted shelves stuffed full of canned and dry foods, as well as pallets of unopened bottled water. The cupboards held an average family's worth of plates, cups, and utensils. Peering at the pipes under the sink, Zev found himself musing about the bunker's construction. Not that he knew anything about that subject.[break][break]

Beyond the kitchen was a living area, complete with beds, couches, and a small shelf of board games. Based on how unused everything was, the owner must not have used the bunker at all, not even for a test run. Zev opened every drawer but found nothing incriminating until he peered into the final room, which looked like an office. In the desk was a manila folder with copies of bunker's build contract and ownership papers. Inserted among these documents was a wallet-sized photograph of two men and two children, all hugging and smiling.[break][break]

Upon Zev's return to the computer room, he relayed his findings to Jayden, showing him the folder and photograph. "We'll need to send a team out here to collect the supplies and clear the living space. We could rip out the furnishings and repurpose it, depending on what our plans are for this bunker."[break][break]

He meant Team Rocket's plans, of course.
