She was going to comment and ask about the one that Matias had fought. [break][break]

But before she gets a chance to do so, Kyle seems to wake up suddenly and begins to instruct the group. She nods her head silently as it seemed that building fear inside her continued to grow. It begun to whisper in her mind that kyle would wipe the all out here for some reason and she did her best to follow his orders out of fear he'd retaliate if she resisted. [break][break]

She was acting like an abused animal, flinching at the sudden moves of the group as she sends out her Noivern to mount on top of as she was too tired to really walk. However it doesn't take off to not leave everyone else behind. [break][break]

As the group continues WEST, they'd eventually find that the path slowly begins to shift, translucent bridges become solid ground, covered in grass. A tall oddly shaped tree stands before them with a patch of ground containing dead grass and some...strange rocks? She keeps her distance from it as it was an extremely strange sight. "That tree is freaky.." she says taking note of it's extremely red leaves and branches.

To his following offer, a lazy smirk cracked across her face.

Even if he refused to admit it, he was just as restless as they were. Eyes forced open by the same gnawing desire to remain conscious and aware. She would've probed a bit further had not been for Kyle's sudden emergence from his tent, hair just as wildish and bedridden as hers.

The thought drew out a short-lived snicker. How ironic was it that, despite her feelings towards Matias, she'd consider herself closer to this rag-tag bunch than her own parents?

To Kyle's commands, the group marched west, taking the path laid out within the sepia-filtered roads. The shadow of the night made it tough to make out the finer details of their surroundings, but through the usage of some flashlights (which she had brought three of, one for mostly everyone) it was made lightly easier to make their passage through it all.

As the solid ground became blanketed by wilting grass, they began to approach a large Jubokko tree with wide outstretched arms that bled out crimson leaves. Like veins, each branch curved inward than out, reaching up toward the tinted skies for mercy that never came.

Slowly Penelope crept forward, following the deeply planted roots down toward the surrounding wall of rock.

"Hey, guys, check this out."

From the shine of her flashlight, another open containment cell would be found, eerily similar to the one they'd found before. On its door were purple markings which etched out a symbol she'd nearly forgotten from the trauma associated with it.

The only difference? Where ENVY once flourished, GRUDGE had taken its place, spreading its roots far wider than the trees.

there's a certain level of fear that transpires as they get closer to their destination. it's the eerie feeling of dread he always felt on numerous occasions.

during the blackout of slateport...

the darkest day on sootopolis...

the frozen wasteland on oldale...

it gets his heart racing. there's very little that excites kyle, but fear is one of the triggers that gets him riled up to more than fifty percent. there wasn't any thrill, nor adrenaline, right now, but the certain emotion has already conditioned him to stay alert and anxious in any moment.

PENELOPE LIVY makes a discovery soon. being more conscious of the changes instilled on him after the tampering done by his patron in ho-oh, he pieces two and two together after the previous seal they found earlier. while fear cripples most, it pushes kyle to the edge.

a lucario pops out of its ball, and kyle preemptively powers it up with his mega stone.

"l-let's just make sure this isn't the cause." the explanation is left out, though it's nothing new from kyle. "can you excuse us for a moment, please? aura sphere."

kyle grips on his arm as he watches the lucario mega evolve and charge up the aura sphere. intermingling emotions of fear feed into his aura, powering up the ball of energy until it blasts it onto the seal.

he wonders if the uneasy feeling will eventually dissolve after the seal breaks.

The tree sways violently as it tries to stable itself against Kyle's attack and begins to leak blood outwards. She watches in disgust as she was not used to seeing that much blood all at once "What the hell IS that thing?" she says as she backs up even further from the bloodied yokai. [break][break]

"Can we go yet? I dont feel so good." she asks as her face starts to turn pale. She had wanted to go earlier after she had heard her mother's voice whispering to her but she had tried her best to hide it. "Is it just me? I just need a small break if that's ok.." as her breath began to shorten. [break][break]

The response hinged off the tip of her tongue, balancing ever-so-carefully, only to be ultimately swallowed back down and digested along with all the other retorts she could've fired back with.

It just wasn't worth it.

The flash of the champion's fierce AURA SPHERE cast a shadow over the group, blanketing them in shadows when the jubokko first awoken. Unlike Melody, who flinched away from the bloodied sight of the tree twisting to life, Penelope's eyes kept fixated on it, locked onto the very details of its horrific downfall.

What was once a grand ancient tree had been reduced to a pool of regret.

"If you need a break, then it's best if we just all take one."

Rather than widdle down their numbers unnecessarily. Though, it was a shame. There was still so much she wanted to see before returning back home. Glancing back up at the torn seal one last time, she frowned, then returned her gaze back to her group members.

fear is not something he's used to feeling. usually, other emotions would overpower it whether it be anger or some sick sense of excitement. but when the jubokko tree starts bleeding, pouring blood like a drained waterfall, there is nothing to fight the FEAR he feels.[break][break]

but a distraction soon comes, one he so easily takes to feel anything but this.[break][break]

he's quick to judge, words snapping like an arbok on the prowl. he bites his tongue after, placating venom for now. the last thing he wants is to ruin what he's spent months rebuilding with Melody Miro.[break][break]

the fear doesn't end. he's not sure what he is particularly scared of, but he's inflicted with the heavy feeling nonetheless.

the act doesn't do anything substantial. the blood pouring out does little to the desensitized champion, but his lucario still takes in the leakage of immense emotions.

a lucario pops out of its ball, and kyle preemptively powers it up with his mega stone.

"i'm staying a bit just to document things on my map," he mentions. it's an excuse, as always. "you guys can check the ore we got."

he did see something fly out of it, but failed to mention anything.

kyle takes out his phone and starts to make notes of elevation and such, all while waiting for the rest to step out. it's only then that he experiences the effects of not having a sygna suit on.

he must've forgotten about it when he got up from his tent and walked straight here.
