"This guy sure does love racing," Alec thought to himself. Sure, the dragon tamer liked doing stuff like that from time to time, but it wasn't something that he would do frequently. He just did whatever he felt like doing. It was good tho that Josh liked doing that sort of thing. If it weren't for his current situation, Alec would probably be more open to setting foot in other cities around the region. But Team Rocket made that somewhat difficult. Alec's face grew slightly tense for a brief moment, thinking about what they did to him. He wanted to make them pay. However, right now wasn't the time to make a move. Honestly, the dragon tamer didn't know when the time would be right to make his move. At least it gave him time to somewhat prepare for when that day came.

"Well, if you wanna head up the mountain, we can go ahead and get started," Alec had said, starting to lead the way, hopping on Veta's back and taking off, hoping Josh would follow. As they headed up the mountain, Alec prompted Veta to slow down when he saw a wild Kirlia. He couldn't pass up the opportunity to catch one, and since it was there, it was just begging to be caught. Veta fired a fully-powered ICE BEAM at it, quickly freezing it in place. Alec then tossed a Pokeball at it, and once it clicked, he retrieved the still pokeball with his prize inside. Once he placed the ball in his bag, he made his way up the top of the mountain again.

The powerful restorative started to do its work, easing away the tall dragon's pain. Just as Josh was about to get back on his Dragonair, Tiamat side-eyed Josh, then squinted and began vibrating his wings like he was about to use Extreme Speed. "You sure you're feeling well already, Tiamat?" the Mauville Leader asked. The proud Dragonite let out a bellow that made Josh flinch. "Okay, okay! If you think you're feeling better, we'll fly together!" With that, Josh recalled Resheph, landing on his feet as the serpent disappeared beneath him, then climbed atop the fully grown dragon.

The racer could feel how energetic his Dragonite was in the way she ascended the slopes, easily catching up with Alec and Veta after their teamwork resulted in the Kirlia's capture. "Nice one! My career path prevents me from catching a Pokémon like that, but Kirlia are great partners," Josh encouraged Alec. "We've still got a ways to go to get to the peak, but once we hit the peak, you and Veta better be ready to floor it," he taunted.

"Thanks. Although, I'm surprised. Normally the wild dragon pokemon would be out, but I haven't seen one at all yet ..." Alec had said. It made him wonder why that was. Sure, he wasn't complaining about catching the Kirlia, but it was strange how there wasn't a dragon-type pokemon anywhere in sight. Maybe it was because of the psychic types? Or maybe it was perhaps just a bit of bad luck. However, after a few minutes of him and josh continuing toward the summit, Alec spotted a Vibrava. Alec was tempted, noticing right away that it was a male too, but then a Dottler appeared as well.

Alec contemplated on whether to catch the male vibrava or the dottler. It'd be nice for the vibrava, given that he has a female flygon, but he also knew that finding a dottler was somewhat rare, even around these parts of the region. Normally, they didn't like to be out in the open like that. After thinking it through, Alec had finally made his decision, believing that catching the vibrava would be the better choice. He had Veta fire another Ice Beam at the Vibrava, encasing it ice, or at least a good portion of it's body so that it would try to escape. Alec then threw a pokeball at the part of the Vibrava that wasn't encased by the ice, allowing for the pokeball to work. Veta then used Extremespeed, quickly making there way towards the captured vibrava, allowing Alec to pick up the pokeball. Once he had caught up with Josh, smirked and said, "About time we saw a dragon, eh?"

The sound of Veta's wings and the wild Pokémon's wings humming goaded Tiamat into joining their high speed antics. "Whoa!" Josh cried as his own Dragonite suddenly took off in a blur, making wide circles around the makeshift battleground. As wide as they were, each turn felt like being thrown out of a slingshot, his mount trying to impress Veta and Alex with her own EXTREME SPEED.

The three dragons sounded like hummingbirds as they danced above the mountain trail. It was not long before the three were two, Josh being careful not to be too close to Alec as Tiamat seemingly blipped into sight. "Nice catch! She's really antsy to race you, Alec!" Josh answered from aboard Tiamat, his smile growing into a grin. "Looks like we're pretty close to the peak! Just a little more to go."

"Thanks! Tiamat's pretty impressive too," Alec had said as they flew, noticing its use of Extremespeed. Without any further delay, they finally made it up to the mountain's peak, still up in the air on their dragons. They lined up, making sure that they were a fair distance apart from one another. Before they took off, Alec started to speak once more.

"Well, this is the moment you've waiting for! Hope you're ready. On the count of three. One! Two! Three!" and with that, Veta took off, using Extremespeed herself, with Josh more than likely by their side. Veta flew somewhat close to the ground while being able to zip past the trees. The poor solosis that was floating in the middle of their path spun around super quickly, being whiplashed by Veta's breakneck speed. "Oops! Sorry," alec shouted back, despite the fact that with how fast they were going, it was no longer in sight.

Despite having plenty of pokemon capable enough to race, he never really took the time to train them this way. For the most part, he trained them mainly for battle, which was obviously his better strong suit.
