One click, two clicks, three clicks, another unbearably soft clack... It's a long way down and only ends when it's been eaten up by the roaring river below. There's no way but down and in that moment, despite the rush of adrenaline in her veins, that voice that screams and yearns for escape, she hesitates.[break][break] Bloody drills drive deep into her back. Her voice catches in her throat, her brain rattled as abnormally harsh winds chill her to the bones.[break][break] She hears a scream but it's not her own, her vision blurring as she tethers on the edge.[break][break] It's a long way down.[break][break] The drills are ripped out of her back as Mesprit comes out of hiding, blasting Josh and his Beedrill away with another Mystical Power, then another for good measure. But it's too late, no ground catches her when she collapses, the wind whipping through her hair as she catches a glimpse of an endless blue sky through the drooping veil of her consciousness.[break][break] The sky had been golden back then, hadn't it?[break][break] But no matter how far up she reaches, no hand reaches to catch her own.
