"Hey!" Ruby called after Belial Stone as he ran off on his Samurott. Dammit, of all the times to not have a good mount...

[break][break]Arceus, Asriel Pryde was starting to get on Ruby's nerves. "Fuck off, I was making sure nothing was gonna jump out and kill us," she snapped back. "You're lucky it was just some broken Volcanion." And the weird lamp, but this wasn't the time to mention that. Ruby needed to save her breath for getting away from the not-broken Volcanion that was currently after them.

[break][break]She and Belial were going to be bait, it seemed. "Motherf—fine." Making sure the Volcanion was still following them, she bolted for the bridge. Only adrenaline kept her from freezing at what she saw beneath it.

[break][break]Bones. Thousands of them, undoubtedly human, piled up beneath the bridge like they were trash that had been thrown out.

Belial squints at the younger Pryde. He might have been offended if Asriel Pryde didn't remind him of himself at that age. "Relax, kid. I've seen worse. Teach yourself not to come into these sorts of things without expecting it." He adds with a smirk, patting the man on the shoulder as he walks past.

Life as a mercenary had certainly not been all sunshine and roses. Some people in Team Rocket didn't know exactly how good they had it. And he figured the brother-son or whatever of a wealthy criminal scientist like Raphael Pryde had more reason to be oblivious to that fact. It's also why Belial doesn't shy away from the latter's final proposal here.

"Garand and I can handle this if you want to punch out a little early," He says, stopping to address Ruby Garcia after she's said her piece with Asriel. Though, by the time he's done so, she's already bolted off. He laughs before swiftly mounting his Hisuian Samurott. "Or not!"

Unlike Ruby, however, Belial and Garand did not have time to really gaze at the hellish sight below. Instead, they were forced to employ one AQUA JET after another to avoid being SCALDED by torrents of water the VOLCANION blasted at them as it gave chase. Angered roars filled the chamber.

Managing his temper was no easy task, especially with hooligans such as Ruby and Belial hanging around him and his father. His eye burns with rage hearing their response however Asriel keeps his cool, knowing that there was no point arguing with fools. His father's plan works like a charm and the hooligans manage to act as decoys luring the volcanion away from them.

However they were not out of the woods just yet. Once again a horrible high pitched screech echoes through the castle walls and within a blink a giant shadow looms over the two of them. Asriel's eyes widen once the realization hit him, a hydreigon hovered over them menacingly, it's three heads roared in unison which shook the ground beneath them.

Asriel's never seen such an enormous hydregion before but he couldn't admire it as it was already going on the offensive, channeling a Dragon pulse Asriel reacts quickly pushing his father out of harms way. Quickly summoning the shadow riolu his father entrusted him with. The riolu has been well trained under Asriel's care and quickly counters the hydreigon's attack with a frenzy plant.

With the teleportation the older Pryde didn't hear any protest, not that he would have listened to it had there been some. He has been around the block longer than both Asriel and Ruby had been alive so coming up with plans to deal with even large problems was never an issue. "On my lead," he orders Asriel to follow suit as he calls for his own shadow pokemon with Gamma 2. Once the two have moved into place in luring the water legend to the bridge Rapheal gives a whistle and with that Gamma is on the attack with its SHADOW BOLT. [break][break]

With both shadow pokemon working together they were able to knock the mechanical beast off the bridge the heavy weight crashing into the bones of previous victims. "Good work," is all he offers before Asriel calls for a retreat for now, which given how this area effected people after some time here was probably for the best. [Break][break]

Belial Stone handled Asriel Pryde a lot calmer than Ruby had. Funnier, too. Ruby snickered quietly as Belial patted Asriel on the shoulder as he walked past. She didn't get long to enjoy that moment before the Volcanion attacked, though.

[break][break]"Hell no, I'm not punching out early!" Ruby shouted as she ran. She had her pride, dammit! ... And she didn't have much of a choice with Raphael Pryde and Asriel Pryde teleported to the other side of the bridge. She either ran or she died. She might as well try to look cool while doing the former.

[break][break]The hot steam of the Volcanion's Scald blew past her, tearing her attention from the bone piles. Most of the attacks were aimed at the other Pokémon on the field, but the Volcanion soon turned its gaze to the more vulnerable target.

[break][break]"Shit," Ruby whispered, reaching for her Poké Ball belt. "Athena, Protect!"

[break][break]As soon as the Bastiodon was on the field, she lowered her shield-like head. A barrier of interlocking hexagons appeared in front of her, which the Volcanion's attacks fizzled out harmlessly against. Before she or Belial could counterattack, shadowy attacks shot from behind them, slamming into the Volcanion and knocking it off the bridge. It landed with a crash into the pile of bones, which made macabre clattering sounds as they were displaced.

[break][break]Ruby frowned. So much for looking cool; her only contribution to that fight had been running and defending. Of course Asriel Pryde was one of the ones to get the killing blow, too...

[break][break]A roar heralded the arrival of a huge Hydreigon from the skies. Goddammit, couldn't this realm give them a break?! Asriel Pryde called for a retreat. Ruby sighed.

[break][break]"Fine, let's get out of here." Normally, she would have been defiant, even if it was petty, but she didn't want to be in this mechanical Hell any longer than necessary.

"This ain't worth our life, kid! Let's go!" Belial calls out to Ruby Garcia in the face of her initial stubbornness. The mercenary captain also wasn't the one to back down from a good fight, of course. But he'd learned, quite harshly over the years, that it was sometimes better to retreat and lick wounds.

He'd gathered plenty of nice data today, after all. The next fight he had with a VOLCANION was sure to go far smoother. So, without great anticipation for the next round sometime in the future, he steers GARAND toward the exit.

The PRYDE brothers were already on the other side. Belial scoffs. "Even I can't tell whether that's cowardice or smarts." He smirks. Though the blob of SCALDING hot water he dodges with a duck of his head prompts him to AQUA JET the hell out of there before long as well.
