WHETHER IT WAS DISPLACED BENEATH LITTLEROOT DUE TO DIMENSIONAL ENTANGLEMENT, BROUGHT BACK TO FUNCTIONING ORDER DUE TO DIALGA, OR BOTH, can not be determined. However, this kingdom made entirely out of intricate mechanisms is void of human life. Clockwork gears, iron tunnels, and curious domes make up this kingdom that continues to function like an animatronic music box.[break][break]

Mechanical Pokemon like Magearna, Volcanion and others present in the kingdom seem to be robotic, set to a rhythm or programming like an animatronic figure.[break][break]

Several clock towers loom above the entire kingdom, though their machinery seems to be in disrepair.

Once again he was in this strange world. Surrounded by rusted clock-gears and giant clock towers - Asriel wasn't exactly thrilled to be back. However there was no doubting that the resources they brought back last time was valuable to the organization, and this time they were better equipped for a more thorough and extensive stay.

Standing atop of a large cliff - directly across them was a massive ruined castle. He points out the ledge towards the group, "I feel that will serve as a good location to start." Preparing to take out the zipline equipment they brought with them he directs the question towards the group, but his main focuses remained on his father.

It wasn't long before the last trip where Pryde wanted to come back to this place. With plans to visit Kanto for a few months he wants to take more information to go back with. So accompanied once again by the same people they make their way back to the mechanical kingdom. He watches as his son shows off confidence in his choices on how to approach moving on, the older man seeming to nod in approval to it as he moves forward and touches the line as if to test it. [break][break]

"Simple enough," is all he really offers as he takes one of the gear offered as Pryde allows one of the others to go first. Allow the young to lead the way. [break][break]

Eventually after they all would've ziplined to their location Pryde would look around, "I would like to find the room from before, I believe it could be useful if we can start that engine," he tells the others as he gives the group a goal to aim toward.

Ruby was surprised to be called back for a second expedition, but she couldn't complain too much. The Mechanical Kingdom was dangerous, but work was work, and Pryde clearly trusted her enough to bring her along again. And this time, they were more prepared for the sorts of things that waited for them in this ruined clockwork world.

[break][break]The stood at the top of a large cliff overlooking a ruined castle. Asriel had brought along zipline equipment to traverse the "sky-lines" that ran above the kingdom. Many of them had crumbled with rust and age, but the one leading to the castle still looked to be in working order. That didn't make Ruby any less wary of using it. She checked her belt for Delphi's Ultra Ball; if the zipline failed them, then at least Ruby had a flying backup. Only then did she take the equipment offered and follow along.

[break][break]"I guess we can't just teleport in again," she said in nearly a grumble. "Let's try not to split up this time, either. We've seen what kind of monsters are around here." She was hesitant to call them Pokémon, given the soulless, mechanical behavior they'd displayed before.

After their previous venture through this mysterious MECHANICAL KINGDOM, Belial Stone had yearned to return for more. When the chance to do so presented itself, and with the same team, no less, the mercenary captain sprung for it. And it would undoubtedly take more than a wide rift and a yawning void that stretched out between it to scare him out of it.

So, taking the strange contraption meant to propel him across the zipline, he briefly examines it in his hands. And, after getting a good sense of how it worked, he smiles. Pulling its trigger and whirring its gear to life, he nods. "Right behind you," He addresses Asriel Pryde before stepping forward.

Thankfully, their exhilarating travel across the zipline does not end with an untimely death. Once they reach the other side safely, Belial decides he's going to keep his grappling hook and holsters it to his belt. Afterward, he summons a HISUIAN SAMUROTT to accompany him as protection.

"Let's find the engine room then," He nods. "Though I can't say I recognize any of the surroundings here so far. So one of you will have to lead the way."

"No, we cannot." Asriel responds sharply to Ruby Garcia's remarks, he didn't offer an answer as to why they couldn't but he did not appreciate a lowly grunt questioning his methods. "Yes that's the plan." Was his other response to her comment about staying together.

His gaze quickly glimpses over towards his father and the mercenary Belial. Nodding towards the pair as he gears up and prepares to zipline towards the castle. With everything in working order he takes the lead, strong gusts of wind blowing against his body as he zips towards their destination.

Everyone makes it across without problems and the group quickly comes to a consensus on finding the engine room before anything else.
"That wont be a problem" Asriel asserts in a confident tone, his hand rests on a pokeball and with a click his luxray is summoned.

"Lead us to the engine room" The command is direct and the electric feline's star-tipped tail whips in response It's large yellow eyes omitting a dim glow as it begins to use powerful vision to track down the room. Soon as the luxray begins to head in a direction Asriel is swift to follow and soon enough they find the engine room. Although things seem to be amiss..

The trip is simple enough, his mechanical arm making it easy for his old body to go down the line as if he was using his own it might not have worked as well. For a moment he considers answering Ruby about the reason why they didn't have the limited resource that was the item that allowed them the chance to teleport, until Asriel gives a quick answer. One that amuses him greatly and he approves of as he allows his son to take lead as he even comes up with a decent idea on how to find the location he wanted. [break][break]

Who know his other son had a brain. [break][break]

"Good work," he gives the rare genuine compliment to his boy as the Luxray leads them back into the engine room with little to no know trouble. A pat on the shoulder has he walks past him into the room, admittedly his mind too curious about the task at hand to give the rest of the castle a real look. Not that he didn't trust the others to pick up the slack should any danger arrive. [break][break]

From there he approaches the engine as he calls out a carkol and commands it to start it up, using a mix of its coal and heat to get it started.

Ruby glowered at Asriel's sharp response. She'd been fishing for an actual explanation, but all she'd gotten was snark from the kid. "Great," she mumbled sarcastically. At least the ride across the zip-lines went off without a hitch. Asriel even had a way to lead them to the engine room despite their unfamiliar surroundings. It meant that Ruby didn't have to send out her creepy Dusknoir, but she couldn't help but feel like he was showing off a bit.

[break][break]Pryde got to work on getting the engine started up with his Carkol, leaving Ruby with fuck all to do. "I'm gonna look around. Won't go far."

[break][break]She wandered the corridors just outside the engine room, eyes peeled for any signs of the mechanical menaces that plagued this place. A flash of orange around a corner had her grabbing Delphi's Ultra Ball, but she realized that the Volcanion was crushed under a pile of metal scrap, unmoving. Ruby sighed in relief.

[break][break]Its eyes opened at the sound.

[break][break]She gripped Delphi's Ultra Ball tight, but the creature didn't move. It just stared at Ruby, its expression almost plaintive. Slowly, its mouth creaked open. Ruby wasn't sure why, but she felt like it wanted to tell her something. Yet all that escaped it was a quiet hiss before electricity jumped through its maw. It spasmed, then went still again, lifeless eyes still open.

Inspired by Asriel Pryde 's confidence, Belial follows the man's LUXRAY to the ENGINE ROOM with his Samurott in tow. Even so, the mercenary captain knew PRIDE to be the downfall of many a soldier. So he keeps his head on a swivel, eyes wide open as they explore the depths of the mechanical castle further.

Eventually, they reach the engine room in question before Raphael Pryde gets to work on activating it. When Ruby Garcia expresses a desire to explore, Belial nods. "I'll come with," He smiles, striding along without bothering to ask for permission. "Let's go, Garand." He chirps at his Samurott, who is quick to catch up and cover their flank.

Before long, the breakaway group comes across a half-dead VOLCANION in another chamber. Belial mutters an astonished curse beneath his breath, watching as Ruby Garcia dares to approach the behemoth closer. Just before it manages to utter a sound from its mouth, however, the mechanical beast appears to die. The mercenary captain sighs afterward.

"What a shame... I'm sure this thing was an absolute unit in its prime." He comments, glancing at their surrounding before finding a strange metal... lamp? That's what it looked like, anyway. Rod-like in form, it stuck out from the ground and appeared to be the meeting point of several pipes that run along the walls and ground.

Belial cautiously approaches it, unlatching its lid before attempting to open it up. When the lid refuses to give, given a rusted latch, the mercenary grunts. Seizing it with both hands, and putting his shoulders into it, he manages to pry it off forcefully before casting it aside. Then, without warning, a haunting PHANTOM bursts forth from within.

The man staggers backward in complete awe, watching as this spirit utters a mournful moan before disappearing through the ceiling above. When he regains his composure, Belial gulps before turning to Ruby Garcia with a nervous laugh.

"You, uh... saw that, right?"

PROMPT 24 break apart a machine or mechanism (not a pokemon) and witness what appears to be a soul being released.

Hearing the compliment caused Asriel to pause, growing up he always craved for his fathers acknowledgement but would rarely get any. Which is why it made this moment even more special. The small gesture of a shoulder tap caused a very subtle and brief smile but the emotion was quick to fade away and his expression returned to his usual, one that was difficult to read.

His luxray stands guard as the others decide to explore the area, Asriel was about to object letting Ruby Garcia wander alone but since Belial was accompanying her he figured it wouldn't be a problem. His father quickly worked on getting the engine to work and just within a few moments he was able to do just that.

The engine is slow to start however before long he hears a distant boom. His initial thought was that it was a nearby gate being unlocked as a result to the engine being started up. A few moments later he hears a sinister roar which bounced throughout the mechanic castle's hollow corridors.

It was enough to give Asriel a startle and make him worry about what exactly could produce such a cry. He looks over towards his father for guidance unsure if they should head in that direction or avoid it.

The walls move, the room heats up, and gears begin to turn as the Carkol does it's job. Its charcoal and heated body giving the mechanism it needed in order to give life to the room around them. The others going off to search give him little concern as Pryde allows his curiosity to guide them toward danger. As finally something gives life as within the room a once broken down Volcanion gives life. It seems to struggle in getting up at first as it's glitched body tries to get up but the old man finds it more amusing than terrifying. [break][break]

Thoughts that he couldn't linger on as the pokemon attempts to attack. The Rotom within his arm activates defensive protocols as it switches forms within his arm and as the Steam Pokemon attacks with a SCALD, Pryde taking up a position in front of his son as his rotom uses PROTECT to protect the Pryde family. The force pushing them back but at least remain unharmed for the most part. With that Raph would give his son a push in the direction in where the others left. [break][break]

Retreat and give it more bodies to chase was the clear option here. That or at least with more of them it would be easier to take this thing down.

Ruby wasn't bothered by the lack of asking for permission. Hell, she'd been the one who said they shouldn't split up, so having another person with her was a good thing here. (In her defense, though, she wasn't going far. Just enough to see if anything was encroaching on their position to ruin their day. Again.)

[break][break]"Yeah, an absolute unit that would have tried to kill us," Ruby grumbled in response. Curiosity be damned, it was a good thing the mechanical beast was dead. One less thing to attack them.

[break][break]Belial started messing with some kind of lamp-like contraption sticking out from the ground. "What are you—?"

[break][break]Her voice, along with the rest of her insides, froze when something burst out from inside the newly opened lamp. She didn't want to believe it was a ghost, but the mournful moan it let out before disappearing through the ceiling was way too close to what she'd heard in her previous encounters with the paranormal. Without meaning to, she gulped at the same time as Belial and met his eyes. The only relief was that he also seemed creeped out about it.

[break][break]A distant boom hit her already frazzled nerves, jerking her into high alert. The sinister roar bouncing through the castle's hollow corridors didn't help.

The sounds coming from down the hall surely did not bode well. The instant Belial had heard them he had already begun making a beeline for his return. "Sounds like they're in trouble," He remarks, stopping briefly only to mount his Hisuian Samurott. However, when steam began to hiss and explode out from the surrounding pipes, he shook his head and sighed.

"Sounds like we all might be, on second thought. This place feels like it's about to come apart."

So with great speed and haste, he begins to ride and retrace their steps. It isn't long afterward that the mercenary captain finds himself regrouping with the Pryde clan. "What happened here? Are we aborting the mission?"

Like his father, Asriel is bewildered when a broken down pokemon seemingly has life breathed back into it. Giving a quick glance towards his father Asriel isn't surprised to see the look of curiosity written all of his face.

In a matter of seconds the volcanion already begins to launch an attack. If it wasn't for the quick reaction of his father's mechanical arm, there would of been a price to pay. When he is shoved out of the way he is quickly met by the others who have rushed to their aide given the sound.

"Retreat!" Was all that Asriel mouthed to Ruby and Belial. He leads the others down far enough where they were able to get a good distance from the volcanion. He then addresses Belial's previous questions "You should know better then to ask if we are abandoning our mission." He gives the mercenary an irritated glare before continuing. "We witnessed a mechanical volcanion come back to life it proceeded to attack us which is why we retreated, understand?" His tone is pretty demanding and Asriel gives the expression that he doesn't want to hear any other questions about the matter.

"Now. did you come across anything useful when you decided to venture off without permission?"
