Alec brows furrowed all the more as the man's words were heard. While Josh seemed to 'reason' with him, attempting the man swear fealty, however he didn't seem like he wasn't having any of it. Then again, Alec wasn't even trying to convince the man to stand down and join them. No, he knew that something like that would never reach someone like this guy. As elijah gardner's pokemon continued their onslaught on Josh's Manetric, Alec's Dragonite fired a fully-powered ICE BEAM at the Tangrowth.

With his pokemon seemingly deadset on trying to knock out Josh's pokemon, this left his Dragonite open to level the playing field all the more, and since both of the opposing pokemon were grass types, the cold sting from Veta's beam of Ice would surely do quite some damage if it met it's mark. With it's Tera Type being NORMAL though, it wouldn't be nearly as powerful as normal-type attacks, but it seemed that Veta knew that the attack would still do quite a bit of pain to the opposing Grass pokemon. "You and your pokemon seem to forget that there's two opponents," Alec said with a devilish smirk. If he could knock out another of Elijah's pokemon, then this battle would surely be his and Josh's victory.

With no nimble, agile Pokémon carrying him, Josh was at the mercy of the Gogoat's EARTHQUAKE. He realized the hard way that being clad as a Manectric came with not just all of the strength's species.

It came with the species' weaknesses too.

A bloody-murder scream came out of the Gym Leader's mouth as the rumbling, vibrating ground pierced the protective layers of his suit, hitting him with the force of a super-effective Pokémon attack. On top of that, the core of his suit was searing hot, a strong burning sensation adding to the rapid pinching of his skin from the shaking, smashing ground. Even if he survived the ground-type attack, would he be able to desctivate his suit in time? Was this where the brave rider was to meet his end, in a strange dimension where no one would find him?

As the ground threw him about in various directions, his own motion clicked the switch on Raikiri's Poké Ball, the saddled mythical Pokémon leaping past the aftershockwave with a high BOUNCE. He was going to make elijah gardner answer for making Josh suffer!

Alec grimaced when the Gogoat had started an earthquake, not expecting it performa surprise attack like that, and because of Veta's Typing now being normal due it's own Terastalization, it too was at the mercy of the wide ground attack, fainting just as Elijah and his Gogoat started to run away. After Alec had returned his fallen Dragonite, he called out Inferno, quickly hopping on it's back, barely escaping the incoming tremor. Then, Inferno flew toward Josh, prompting Alec to swiftly aiding him by holding out his hand out to Josh as Inferno flew by. Depending on ow quick Josh was, he'd hopefully grab Alec's outstretched hand, hoisting him up onto Inferno's Back along with with him.

Once josh would be saved and on Inferno's back with the other Gym leader, Alec activated his mega glove, the energy violently flowing out of it and around the charizard's body, making it Mega Evolve. "I won't let you get away!" Alec yelled at Elijah, prompting Inferno to follow after Josh's Zeraora.Inferno couldn't perform a long-ranged attack due to Zeraora being ahead of him. All Alec could do was hope that Inferno would be fast enough to help Raikiri if it's swift Bounce didn't come through for them. Catch him ... Catch him, now!" Alec thought to himself as he watched his Charizard and Josh's Zeraora close in on the man and his pokemon. Regardless of whether it'd be Josh's Zeraora or Inferno catching elijah gardner and his gogoat, Alec didn't care.

TL;DR:
- Veta is knocked out by the Earthquake due to it's Terastallized state

- At the same time, Alec quickly releases his Charizard from his pokeball, hopping on it's back, then proceeds to fly toward Josh, grabbing on to him as he passes by, hoisting him up on Inferno's back along with him.

- Once Alec saves Josh, he activates his Mega Glove, mega evolving inferno as the two Gym Leaders are on it's back while giving chase to Elijah, determined to not let him escape.

The MYSTERIOUS ORE elijah gardner hurled at Raikiri was timed perfectly, exploding directly underneath the thundercat and sending him flying into the air, well above Inferno. Though the stubborn Zeraora wanted to keep pursuing the apothecary and his Gogoat, Josh saw all the blood dripping from the feline's sensitive underside. In the Gym Leader's weakened state, on top of the dizziness he was suffering from absorbing his SYGNA SUIT's extreme heat, it took him four attempts to successfully recall his Pokémon. Even Alec may have felt uncomfortable with Josh behind him, what with how much heat his suit was giving off.

As the Charizard soared, the hum of the INFINITY CELL ceased, and not in a good way. A loud shattering sound caused Josh to flinch, and if Alec didn't see it coming, possibly him, as well. Smoke surrounded the Gym Leader, who was sweating from head to toe in the suffocating heat. Worse yet, the effects of his suit had faded. That included its effects shielding the Gym Leader from Ultra Deep Sea's harsh atmosphere. It did not take him long to fall unconscious. His life was now in Fallarbor Gym Leader alec foster 's hands...

SYGNA SUIT MALFUNCTION

The INFINITY CELL and CRYSTALBLOOM powering Josh's SYGNA SUIT have ruptured due to severe overheating. Josh will need to procure replacements from the League, which will take some time. Until the events of the Goodbye, Galar raid, his SYGNA SUIT will be unusable.
