He sees double when he looks at Sawyer. He hears extra when the Rocket speaks. Colors mix and change, the face he's looking at twists and shifts. Sawyer's words are given a backdrop of storms and mocking and that horrible, fucking beeping like a life monitor about to stop. He finds his breath. Open mouth gasping that slowly comes into cold control as he goes somewhere else, and he is straining to stay focused. But emotion overcomes reason. He is shaking as he tires to steady himself to not fall into instinct. But as adrenaline spikes, survival instinct kicks in. Fear, anger, and hatred all mix and burn a toxic mess in his gut. He has flashed of CALLISTA MOON , of @sol , of desperately trying to run back to them before his own end started theirs. [break][break]

Sawyer drops, proving what he'd thought all along. "Worthless." the word is is strained as he whips around to smack them with the back of his elbow, moves less calculated as he simply chooses to cause harm. "You shouldn't have hesitated." he added, breathing ragged. "Because I won't." The words are not a threat, but a promise. That much is evident in how he sprints straight to Ashley, forgetting the previous threat of the handgun and aiming a fist low into his gut. [break][break]

romeo doesn't pay attention to the humans, snarling and squirming in the Bewear's grasp. She mirror her own human FEINTing up at the Bewear to try to smack her heads against his nose.

"You trained!?" Paxton snapped, never taking his eyes off Ashley despite the threat of another BRUTAL SWING from the sidelines. Romeo could take care of it. "Get up! You can't wave around your fuckin' toy anymore." he added not letting Ashley a second to recover. He'd toyed with him, laughed at him. Planned this whole fucking revenge plot over what? He picks up the pistol aiming it at Ashley, and fired a round right next to his ear, the one he'd mangled. Once, twice, three times. His hearing rings as his breathing turns into hard pants before he clicks the remaining bullets out and throws the gun back into the Rocket's face. [break][break]

"Get up and fuckin' kill me, brat!" he yelled grabbing a knife at his side. Before he can pull it out, the Bewear is upon him, squeezing him tight in a BIND he might've called cute were he not enraged. Stopped temporarily he squirms and struggles with no plan. Violent, aggressive. Wheezing as he tries to claw free and biting down on the pokemon's arms before realizing his helmet is still on. "ROMEO!" [break][break]

The Riolu responds in turn, rushing a FEINT from one of Jelly's flanks as Paxton tries to stomp on it's feet at the same time. He wouldn't let this pokemon stop him from reaching Ashley and that much is evident by how he tries to reach for the Rocket, clawing and fighting against the large bear pokemon.

The continuous squeeze only shoots panic through Paxton as he grows more and more desperate to break free. He doesn't hear the Bewear crying, not his Riolu struggling to pull Jelly off her trainer. When Paxton begins coughing, struggling to suck in air she bounces off the Bewear and looks at the scene in a panic. And when Ashley punches the helmet, whipping Paxton's head to the side as he wheezed in a daze she makes her decision. The Riolu runs away, QUICK ATTACKING to gather distance before locking her eyes on Jelly. [break][break]

She sprints forward, faster and faster in more bursts of speed before jumping into the air and using her FINAL GAMBIT, flying kicking the Bewear in the head. The blast of firepower jolts the bear enough that Paxton gasps, arm finally reaching down to his knife before he puts it in a reverse grip and stabs it backwards into the Bewear. [break][break]

He hears the faint gasps of his Riolu and feels a cold fear grip his heart. He pulls the knife back out trying to carve it up the pokemon's body and escape. His eyes follow the noise and he shudders feeling like he's seen this movie before. [break][break]

Romeo cries out, relieved Paxton is still moving- fighting, even if he cannot. And as the Riolu heaves in her own death throws Paxton turns to the party responsible, letting out a scream of rage as he tries to close the distance and aim a punch blow with the hilt of his dagger at Ashley. Relentless, he follows with his other fist and a wild kick. All uncoordinated, all thoughtless.

Its not enough to see them on the ground. Its not enough to see the anger, the arrogance leave Ashley's eyes. He wouldn't stop until Ashley's eyes were lifeless, having suffered to the very bitter end. So even while on the ground, Paxton moves in unrelenting. Because Rocket never relented. Rocket never listened. Rocket could not be trusted or reasoned with. Rocket was a scourge that would never be satisfied no matter how much power they amassed or how many people they killed. It's a black hole, tearing through region after region no matter the victims. [break][break]

He has flashed of them. Of CALLISTA MOON who he almost lost with the freedom fighter. Of @sol who they'd thought had been KIA. Of Eris Halla who he'd lost in the beginning bizarre terrorist attacks that only escalated into a full fledged civil war. At one point or another he'd thought them all dead. He'd mourned them, remembered them. He'd been so closed to death so many times. [break][break]

This attempt on his life is insulting. It's pathetic. "Get UP!" he screamed giving another harsh kick to the gut wanting to make the runt before him choke on his own bile. "You don't get to feel sorry for yourself, SAWYER!" he snarled as he came down on the Rocket, pinning him under his body weight and grabbing him by the collar. "C'mon Rocket! Show me self righteous!" he sneered as he punched him again, and again and again. The rest is just grunts of effort as their pokemon bleed out in the ground. Paxton, too blinded by resurfacing hate and fury, to notice anything or anyone else but Ashley.
