Kouji's reaction had been much better than what he had gotten from a typical bystander: after all, for most people, being furiously shaken as fast as a Yanmega's wing was injury-inducing in more than one way. With her inexperience in harnessing her suit's INFINITY ENERGY, though, she still had to be careful, ratcheting up the intensity bit by bit until she could go on the wings at full blast.

"But I--" It was too late. Kouji had already began engaging the Mandibuzz. While it wasn't a big loss, as the scavenger Pokémon didn't seem like a particularly wild ride, she had never experienced flying on one before. While the battle was going on, the girl had at last recovered from the disorienting rattle of the BUG BUZZ. Having had her fill of all her limbs feeling like jelly, Shalin withdrew her Yanmega for her Persian, Serena, who also wore a saddle. Was every single one of her Pokémon ready to bear a rider?

”Wow, looks like that one took a buncha outta ya.” Kouji said as his pokeball clicked to a close, it was a strange sound to know he had caught one of those; but it was fine too. ”I’ll give you a chance to ride on her afterwards, she’s a lil small, but you’re pretty small yourself.” His smirk was apparent, his eyes then their surroundings changed in a moment.

Sand began to blow around the area; a calm tranquil forest was changed in an instant as a great lumbering beast charged through; a Tyranitar. A Vespiquen not too far behind, who was hunting who? Kouji could not tell, but his eyes landed on that Tyranitar. Their eyes met in a moment, he stepped forward; and yet he knew that he wouldn’t be able to fight this. Not himself, not with just a mere pokeball.

”You’re up boy.” He said to his Absol, who without missing a beat threw up the Night Slash at the other dark type. Kouji followed immediately after with his pokeball, a combination of the super luck assisted critical hit, and his well timed throw; the pokemon was ready to be dropped into the mix.

”I don’t think this one is all too rideable, but feel free to try. I might learn a thing or two from ya.”

While many people would find being short a curse, Shalin being small and lithe let her hop on Pokémon that were too small for others. To her, her short stature was a blessing. "I'll have to take you up on that! There's this field behind eastern Petalburg Woods I go to all the time that's--"

With a discontent snarl, Serena reared sharply suddenly, catching Shalin off guard and causing her to slide down the cat's back and land on her rump. The Persian turned tail and hid behind her trainer upon the sudden change of weather. Her SYGNA SUIT let her withstand the sandstorm, its grains bouncing off her red eye shields.

After Kouji's battle was over, Shalin heard his remark about his latest catch. "If it were my Pokémon, I'd get the Tyranitar fit with special gear for added stability," she suggested. "But I'm willing to give it a try!" If both Kouji and the Tyranitar were willing, the rookie Ranger would mount up and prepare for the worst. After all, she needed to test the various things her suit was capable of!

Kouji smirked as the Tyranitar was caught, the other pokemon fled; so it was a comfortable moment for just a little while; he looked back to Shalin who spoke. His eyes fixed onto her for a brief duration, a raised eyebrow as the first response.

”Gotta do it bare, I ain’t got no Tyranitar harnesses; it’s like a piggy back, just with a mountain eating pokemon.” He said with a half smirk, his tone playful, almost teasing in its cadence.

While a saddle made riding a Pokémon easier, Shalin wasn't one to turn down an opportunity like this. After all, she had caught many Pokémon by riding them wild! At least there were plenty of protrusions in the rock-type's armor for her to find purchase. It would just be a matter of her strength holding up.

"You're making it sound like a challenge, and that type of challenge is one I'm not walking away from any time soon!" she jeered back with confidence. Provided Kouji's rock-type would be willing, Shalin would hop on. She already got a tingling sensation just from how firm the powerful Pokémon's muscles were. "Ready!" she chirped, holding onto the Tyranitar like one would ride a bipedal dinosaur.

Kouji looked at his Tyranitar, his now; and watched how she rode upon it; the pokemon seemed to look at him with barely concealed rage, it wasn’t one he had trained, but it was one he was ready to beat if it came down to it.

”Settle down boy, we ain’t got time for scuffles. I’ll be sure to give you as many blood pumping fights as you want.”
<p>
He spoke with a smirk, his eyes settled against his pokemon’s own, and then to Shalin as Tyranitar began to march forward step by step, before it charged forward with a head charge against a tree.
<p>
”Enjoying it?” He said with a cocky smirk as his Tyranitar turned and ran the other way, as if trying to shake her from his back, and feel the wind running through his spikes.

While the rock-type didn't wear a saddle, the spaces between the Tyranitar's spikes were a great place for Shalin to find purchase. She could tell it wasn't too happy to have her as a passenger, but was it any different than capturing a wild Pokémon by flinging herself aboard and holding on for her life? Not really. As the destructive Pokémon lowered its head and smashed a tree to splinters with a charge, the recoil jostled Shalin badly, her firm grip near the rock spikes the only thing keeping her from falling. "I am!" she grinned. "Such power!" Even beneath the rock armor, she could feel the Tyranitar's rippling muscles. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before while seated on a Pokémon.

The Tyranitar's about-face rocked Shalin with so much strength that even she yelped. All it took was one reversal of direction to rip Shalin from between the spikes and off the dark-type's back. "Whoa, he's so strong..." she gasped. "Beyond my ability to hold on!"

It was a belly busting bit of laughter, he looked at it and found himself grabbing his stomach as Tyranitar let out a gruff roll from his throat; it really did feel like something special. He patted the shoulder of the creature who roared growled at him, almost ready to take off his arm…

But it was in that moment Kouji saw the small sable-eye poke around the corner, Tyranitar looked at it just as well. ”Crush him boy.” He said with a pat, and the creature that had too much aggressive energies worked up, charged forward with deadly intent as he threw himself forward, mouth open; crashing Sableye against the tree, which Kouji took as his chance to throw his pokeball.

”Can’t miss that chance, think that’s everything here for me, what about you? Gonna try and carry on riding on that flygon of yours?”

There were some Pokémon that were just plain terrifying. Even Shalin had been overwhelmed by the surreal strength Kouji's Tyranitar unseated her with. The snap of the dark-type's rocky back hurt almost as much as the impact from being violently dislodged. It became all the more terrifying when she saw the brutal battle the behemoth had with a wild Sableye that looked out of place in the daylight.

"I think I've had enough, too," Shalin agreed, instead calling on the help of her Pyroar, Scar. The tall male crouched to let her trainer aboard, standing up when she had secured herself on the great cat. "Nope! I'll be taking the long way home. I don't think my legs can handle vibration like that after your Tyranitar beat me! Have a good one!" she waved. "Maybe we'll see each other again!" With that, the two went their separate ways.
