He checks his gear, loading up on supplies after making it back form the Ultra Space. Scurrying back to League lines, he restocks ammo and water, and heals up those he can and mourns those he lost. Now he's gotta get through the rift again and face that overwhelming sense of nausea he always did when crossing between worlds. [break][break]

Only thing is, this late in the game, the rift front seems a little quiet. That puts him on edge. Noise breaks out, and he can hear both trainer and pokemon screaming as the skirmishes pick up again. He flanks to offer aid, moving into position a little too late as someone in a ranger uniform falls after a severe flash of light. [break][break]

Might with might he guessed, tossing out a pokeball and releasing his Steelix as he reported his position when no other reports go through. "Cassidy reporting from position D, the watch here is going down. Moving in for back up-" he cuts himself off as his pokemon lets out a roar and begins to float with MAGNET RISE.

Zev stepped over the unconscious body of the League Ranger, the Jellicent he had taken off a dead grunt floating behind him. While not powerful, it proved a useful asset while his own Pokémon recovered in their vessels. It had certainly held its own against the Ranger's team.[break][break]

A guttural roar stopped Zev in his tracks. Looking ahead, he spotted the unmistakable silhouette of a Steelix rising up from the ground. A lone figure stood by.[break][break]

Anticipating another fight, Jellicent moved forward, tentacles waving as it cast RAIN DANCE upon the immediate area. Dark clouds manifested above Zev, followed shortly after by the first droplets of a storm.

Rain began to fall, sliding down the front of his helmet. He could still see the source of it all, that Jellicent beginning its set up, and vaguely the trainer ordering it around. For now, anyway. [break][break]

Sigma doesn't hesitate despite the omen the rainfall might've been. She opened her mouth and lunges at the Jellicent, teeth sparking as she tried to dig her THUNDERFANGs deep into the blue balloon boy. Paxton for his part joins her in the assault, moving towards the handler instead. "Get off them." he warned, words accentuated by sudden uppercut as he tried to get Zev away form his fallen comrade.

The Steelix's maw closed around the behemoth's prey, THUNDER FANG sending electric shocks throughout the jellyfish's body. With a deep, gurgling cry, Jellicent retaliated, blasting at the Steelix's side with WATER PULSE.[break][break]

Leaving his Pokémon to fend for itself, Zev focused on the League officer barreling at him. He shifted his weight onto his back foot, dodging the uppercut by inches. Then he lunged forward, his fist popping out to jab at the officer's ribs.[break][break]

Zev did not actually care for the fallen person at his feet. But if the enemy tried giving him an order, it was natural to refuse. "Or you'll do what?" he taunted from behind his mask, its modulator distorting his voice into an unnatural growl.

It's a simple move, but it pushed back the Steelix with an angry roar. She's soaked, and it hurts, but she doesn't stop, furious at the carnage she's witnessed. Her large tail whips forth trying to smack back the Jellicent towards Zev with her IRON TAIL. [break][break]

Zev moves back and Paxton gives chase, following the momentum despite it giving his opponent too much control. It's fine. It'll fine fine. "This." Steering into it, Paxton tries to shoulder check the Rocket hard, attempting to push him over the fallen and let him lay there with them.

The IRON TAIL sent Jellicent careening toward Zev and the League officer, distracting the Beast enough for the other man's shoulder to ram into him. Zev felt gravity shift as he lost his balance.[break][break]

In a swift attempt not to lose the upper hand, he grabbed the officer's uniform to pull him to the ground, too. If the tactic worked, Zev would immediately twist into a joint lock, applying pressure to the other man's elbow until it caused him agony.[break][break]

Jellicent recovered from the blow, but the Steelix's attacks had clearly injured him. Salt water dripped from wounds ripped through battered skin. Another powerful attack would be his end. Still, he surged forward, blasting seawater at the Steelix with another WATER PULSE.

Paxton drops with the Beast before he can try to steady himself. He slips forward and lands on the ground with Zev, arm quickly grabbed into the elbow lock. He lets out a grunt at the sudden pain. Unable to pull away, instead he keeps close aiming a a jab at Zev's ear to get him to falter in his grip. [break][break]

As he squirms and kicks trying to right himself, Sigma moves forward in her own fight. The Steelix gives chase at the Jellicent, slithering her giant body after, pushing back abandoned cargo and bodies that littered the ground. Not wanting to give the dual type a moment's rest, her mouth crackles once more with electricity as she unhinged her jaw and clamped down into the balloon pokemon. Just as the WATER PULSE blasts out, THUNDER FANG runs through, easily currenting through whatever salt water mixture the ghost type was made up of. At a cost, of course. Sigma chokes on water, spasming and ripped off the Jellicent from the blast, smacking harshly into wet ground with a loud crash.

The jab to Zev's ear stung sharply, causing the Beast to flinch away from the League officer. Zev swore inwardly as the other man slipped from his grip. The only thing to do was scramble to his feet before he could grant his enemy the advantage.[break][break]

The Steelix crashed into the ground right next to them, startling Zev. When he looked over, the Jellicent he'd picked up earlier had collapsed, saltwater pouring out of his deflating body. The Pokémon was dying, Zev realized, and quickly.[break][break]

Still, the jellyfish was not going down without one final, spiteful attack against the Steelix. Raising his tentacles, Jellicent blasted it with HEX. The spectral energy slammed into the Iron Snake Pokémon's body, using up the last of the Jellicent's power before it expired.

They separated quickly. Paxton gets up on his feet, fists up defensively only to rock slightly as his partner falls. Heaving and twitcing, Sigma tried to get up, attempting to push herself up with whatever she had left of consciousness. The HEX grabs at her metal body and she lets out a roar of agony before slumping on the found. pieces of herself falling and scattering on the cave floor. [break][break]

"Shit." Sigma wasn't coming back. He'd be returning a corpse. He tries not to waste the distraction, moving in towards his opponent to try to side sweep him off his feet before a loud BOOM! echeos out and a giant flash of lightning falls on the two pokemon bodies. "What the hell is that?" The PARANOIA crept up. Could it be interdream mist? Neon yellow eyes glow in the gloom and all three dart in different directions. Going form the pokemon to Paxton to Zev nefore staying unfocused, one eye on each. The ground rumbles and a BULLDOZE directed at the pair forces Paxton to push back to dodge.
