These creatures little comprehend what is happening to them. Their understanding is not required. All that is required of them is that they fall before the might of these fists. Towering behind Navy, the creature blasts hit the Fluttermane. So fast is his flurry that winds whip behind Navy, making the tail ends of his coat flutter in the wind. Navy looks up and his eyes are wide. He simply accepts the reality of this situation. He turns back. He advances. Forward. Towards where Roland is left. The only thing left of him is the red shard in his core.[break][break]
Walking forward, moving relentlessly, they fall. His blows fall upon them like a tidal wave, a tsunami of strength. By this great Pokemon’s strength, he finds salvation. He is a swift warrior, one born from fighting spirit in this place. A creature born of dreams, resolved, as his creator is, to carve out a better tomorrow. To eschew the battlefields of the past and all the blood that stained them.[break][break]
This world is a sick joke. The only people who thrive here are the strong. He’s strong, too.[break][break]
And he won’t lose to a world whose only virtue is strength.

A world of the strong, a world of the powerful; and yet its denizens were being scattered by punches. Kouji could feel the flow of wind, a tumultuous thing that had been caused by the constantly flowing strikes, like water itself. It was a cool wind unlike the scorching earth, but he drew his fist back once more.

And the creature behind him did the same thing, and that was when he realized, that he wasn’t alone. It was the first moment, but lucidity returned to him in full. He threw it forward and it was mirrored, a punch that split the earth in front of them and sent the Fluttermanes flying, scattered in all directions.

It was wicked, he knew; but he enjoyed it, being in this world; it was scorched, it was beaten, it was a world where only strength meant something. It was like a reflection of his own heart, and now he was ruling over its denizens as the strongest, together with that which was birthed from his heart, he fought, he punched, and then…He punched again.

A world where only strength matters, and yet; he had risen upwards, towards the top, and understood in that moment, that world with a ‘strongest’ was not a world he wanted to live in. A single sided strength, a single-minded strength, a single-dimensional strength.

He didn’t want to win over a world whose only virtue was in mere strength.

Their might is the stuff that shatters stars. These twin ursine beasts press their firsts forward in perfect unison. One is a decisive blow all on its own. The other is the sum of a hundred blows that came before it, leading to an opening where this final blow might be struck. Reality itself shatters as Navy reaches the red core left behind where Roland once stood. He picks it up. Around him, the world shatters like glass.[break][break]
They are standing in a white void. All that is left are the warriors who stand at the end of the path and a single sample of the living paradoxes. Navy’s monster reaches down and beats him with frantic punches. His fists never stop moving. Not until it is done. The body is weak, but the spirit is strong. Blow by blow against this creature, he builds a different world. It takes shape as he punches. It is sculpted by the roaring, rampaging voice of the Pokemon summoned by his call.[break][break]
Again and again he punches, until they are in Hoenn again. Almost as it truly is, but something has undeniably changed. It is a mingled world where the desires of these two warriors have bled together. A world where the strong may be strong and the weak might dream of strength.[break][break]
And above this world soars its king. A Pokemon Navy has only seen once before. At first, though it is day, he mistakes it for the moon. Its feathered wings blot out the sun as he descends. It is a supermassive monster, an ultimate dragon, a challenge even for Vortigern, who now rests at Navy’s side.[break][break]
“Let’s show this thing our hearts.” Navy declares as he sends up a trio of his own poisoned barbs. They dig into its flesh as it tries to blow dragonfire upon them. Rising up to meet him is this champion of the weak, the inheritor of the will of the many. A creature whose steps are still as moonlight upon the pond.[break][break]
He rises and he punches. Again and again.

The changed world; it was an ideal world…

No, it was their world, and that was why it wasn’t the ideal world, it wasn’t the Hoenn anyone sought, it was a middle ground; represented by the moon above, he had seen it before, he had fought him before, he had come out on top before.

But not with this beating sun that increased this draconian monster’s power even further, and the moon which reflected the sun itself roared, a powerful roar that whipped up a great wind, and then the flames that came from it, met by surging strikes of water that split the red sea of flames.

Kouji understood this world well, but at the same time…
[break][break]
”Yeah, let’s split this guy’s head.” Kouji answered as his fists clenched once more, and the creature behind him responded to that will, to that energy, and released a wicked blow, a powerful strike that split the sky.

A strike that sought to reach the sky as it split it; the artificial sun was dispersed in a singular blow before Kouji looked back at the Roaring Moon.

In the days to come, this Urshifu will come to be called Shuwen. Its name is an exercise in irony on Navy’s part. A little joke concerning a warrior who claimed he could end any battle in one single strike. A creature whose style is built on the accumulation of many blows with the name of a warrior like that is a joke only he could come up with. Shuwen looks up at the creature flying high above him. It is a height most men will never reach.[break][break]
His hands ball into fists. His knees kneed into the ground. Asphalt beneath his feet cracks. He rises, fast as any dragon. Soars past buildings, over rooftops. Superhuman speed and strength propel him. Shuwen kicks the ground beneath his feet, urging his body to an impossible height. The bear reaches the apex of his climb, raises his fist high, and gives a resounding uppercut to the creature. Shuwen’s Aerial Ace clocks it under the jaw before he arrives on its back, gripping it and holding it in place. He sets up a powerful blow for a creature that will one day be his greatest enemy.

Kouji gripped the scatterbangs in his hand; between each finger within the depths of this battle, the thickness of it; the smell of it, and then he threw it up; a collection right underneath the creature being pinned down.

A blow one could not see was a blow to be reckoned with.
[break][break]
That was why in its moment of blindness, after being struck by 8 scatterbangs, Urshifu leapt up. Nameless, without a singular name to him, recently born, and yet; it was born of violence, of hate, and of everything those kinds of feelings represented. Yet, that darkness didn’t cloak his fists in that moment.

It was a silver glow that covered his head just as the dragon let loose a wanton wave of blue and black energy in a pulse. Still he charged head on against his foe, and crashed against the stomach of the dragon with an Iron Head.

Yet the battle would continue, for as long as this war would go.

The war goes on. It is raged fist by fist. Every blow is a fresh battlefront of the long way. There’s no end in sight. This place of compromises and halfway measures is not a world either man wants. As the great dragon is beset on all sides by the legendary fighters, his roar resounds. A powerful dragon pulse rolls off of his body. It is powerful enough to destroy some of the buildings close by. Glass shatters and rains down upon them.[break][break]
“Man, this party’s getting crazy.” Navy laughs. Glass is raining down on him and he laughs. At least none gets in his eye, even if a few jagged shards dig into his skin. With all the damage that’s been done today, he doesn’t even register the jagged edges.[break][break]
And still, the bears are working to bring the dragon down low. It rages and bites at them, but inch by bloody inch, it descends.

As the great dragon is forced to fall, Kouji covers his head from the falling glass; any space he could get was space he wanted, needed. He looked on at the sight in front of him, of the powerful warrior bears, and the dragon that sought to fight them on its own.

That was fine, a rain of blows that would fall down on them in battle and a rain of blows that fell down on their enemy. The great dragon would fall on this night, and they were assured of it as it crashed down towards the ground with a great boom.
[break][break]
It was to fall, it was to die, it was to end; and as it finally exploded outwards into a flood of blackness, a tar that spread across the ground; and from it rises another dragon; Kouji’s eyes widened a little.
[break][break]
”Tch. You again huh?” It held three heads, red as could be, and boring down into those that came from it. The tar which swallowed their environment, ate up all the surrounding buildings, the future of compromise was replaced by the future of consumption as great fires started to erupt from each corner.

Those fires began to release a charge of electricity that spread across the environment, and then into that Iron Jugulis, before it released a roar.
[break][break]
Yet it was a roar that lacked the true majesty of a dragon, it was mechanical, it was dark; it was airy, but it was not majestic.

“Let’s see how it deals with this!” Navy shouts as he tosses another glob of a sticky substance out at the Iron Jugulis. Its soulless eyes look at him with annoyance. It floats, but his joints lock up. His heads seem unable to turn. If a machine can feel anything, it can feel annoyance. The bears seem to fall. Navy’s is upon this creature once more. His hands run white with the glob, oozing over it and doing little to stop the unrelenting force of his fists. The bear screams out his protest.[break][break]

Another of the poison barbs goes out to join the sticky glob and the bear. He’s confident now. Willing to destroy anything in his path. A second wind is a hell of a thing. He’s become convinced that he’s going to win this, come what may. That’s simply how it has to be.[break][break]

“This the best this place can come up with? Honestly, I’m starting to get disappointed.”

They wouldn’t end, nor would they able to let it end so comfortably as the creature above released a dark pulse; a dark wave that rolled over the land; that would come to suck them into it; it was more like a black hole than the earlier uses Kouji had been so well acquainted with.

”A world that swallows everything huh?” He could see it, a future like this, where everything exists only to consume what exists before it, it was a world of unending sustenance, but there was no-one left to appreciate a world like this, it was empty.

This was why he didn’t like this pokemon. But in this space, within the span of this space; that hatred was giving form to something…No, it wasn’t that; it was the wave of darkness that had pushed it out into the open, out into the air. A pair of stones.

What had formed them? What had given rise to them? Was it only because of the dream? Was it because of something else? Kouji wasn’t sure, but this gave a new chance, a new future; and so he gripped it into his hands, and held it tightly.

“Everything.” Navy agrees as he picks up the stone. “Except us.” The warrior that will come to be called Shuwen feels the link between master and Pokemon caused by that stone.[break][break]

“I’m sick of these fake futures. I don’t care to look at the past. I’m ready to end this. It wouldn’t even mean anything if we kicked each other’s ass here. There’s only one Hoenn that matters. It’s not this one, or any of the last few ones this place has shown. We only get one chance to make the world we want. I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of running from my shot. Let’s get out of here. Let’s whoop each other’s asses as many time as it takes to make one of the worlds we want in a place that matters.”[break][break]

The stone glows, as if acknowledging that resolve. Shuwen is consumed by the light. Navy’s arm glows blue with that resounding fighting spirit. Out of the light steps a tall, proud, blue warrior. His eyes glow with starlight. His hands are the stuff that move mountains. Whatever is coming for them on the other side of this creature and its dark pulses, it must overcome these two warriors.[break][break]

Shuwen’s fists simply do not stop moving.

There was no room to disagree with any of this, Kouji looked at the stone in front of him.

”I’m happy to kick ass, but a brawl with a background like this…Is the worst, I don’t want to look at any of this anymore. Let’s wrap this up Navy.” He said as he clenched his fists, the disgusting futures, that which branched to things that didn’t match his goal.

The many pasts that had and should have remained hidden, concealed, and unknown, there was nothing there, they weren’t even the building blocks of the burgeoning future. Kouji didn’t need those things either, he’d discard it in a moment. There were things he hated more than anything else, and while these weren’t those.

They got close.

It was that hate, that which allowed his blood to pump in his veins, his eyes to open, that which allowed him to intake breath. ”Don’t get too excited though.
